Daughters of Themyscira

The Amazons have been a part of DC Comics practically since Wonder Woman's inception, first appearing in 1941. They are based on the Amazons of Greek myth, an island of warrior women cut off from the outside world. This version keeps that myth for the most part, generally being founded by either Aphrodite or Athena, protected by an energy barrier of some form.

These Amazons all tend to be loosely immortal, most having been alive since ancient times. They also tend not to have children at all, Wonder Woman's origin typically having something to do with her being conceived by a miracle or one of the gods. They are strong and fast, with abilities beyond that of a normal human, and are trained to be fierce warriors.

Naturally, the Amazons would appear in any given adaptation of Wonder Woman, at the very least as background characters, if not a major part of the supernatural aspects of the universe. In any movie starring Wonder Woman specifically, they should at least have a supporting presence in the plot.
