Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a quick update regarding my activity here.

I've noticed that some of my posts - especially videos and MP4s - aren't uploading properly due to Tumblr's technical limitations or issues.

Some MP4s took ages to upload (if at all), and even smaller images aren't making it through sometimes.

Because of these glitches (or Tumblr's old infrastructure - I don't know), my content here is often VERY incomplete.

2 SPHINGES in Mantua: Last Sunday, March 1st, I finally made it to the Mantova Collezioni Antiche [MACA], a lovely little museum in Mantua, Italy, that [rather embarrassingly] I had missed until now. While my objective was to capture the bronze head of Arsinoe [stay tuned for that!], I stumbled upon these two remarkable pieces: A pair of Roman Marble Sphinxes dating to the 1st century BC [with later restorations]. Originally carved from Greek marble, the male sphinx features an entirely modern head added during the Renaissance. Believed these were acquired in Rome by Federico Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua, for his antiquities collection at the Palazzo Ducale. ARTEMIS Shooting an Arrow: A fine example of the Direct Hollow Lost-wax Technique - in this process, a bronze statue is cast by pouring molten bronze into a mold created from a wax model.
