"So where’s your group?" I asked the boy who sat with me and my mother. He wore a sheriffs hat and ate the food we had given him while he smiled up happily at us. "I bet they’re somewhere nearby. You can come with us if you like," he said and I smiled at him. "We’ll have to see about that," I said and he nodded. "It’s not safe, there are a lot of evil people out there. Especially now. I think it’s because everyone is afraid," he said, looking away for a moment, giving in to his own thoughts and fears. "You’re probably right Carl, but that doesn’t give anyone the excuse to take another persons life." Suddenly we heard a crash in the front end of the bar and all three of us stood up. Carl almost dropped his place and I grabbed my shotgun and put my fingers to my lips, indicating they needed to be quiet. "Stay here." "It might be one of my friends," Carl said softly. "We’ll find out soon enough, now stay put." I walked out into the bar and saw a man carrying a crossbow on his back rummage through our cabinets and drawers. It wasn’t until he felt the cold steel of my shotgun against his back that he froze. "Hands up where I can see them," I told him strictly but calmly. He did as I said and he turned around to face me. "Well well well, what do we have here?" I grinned. The man was surprisingly handsome, his stubble and half long hair suited him well, and so did the sneer across his face. "I ain’t lookin’ for trouble," he told me and I licked my lips. "Well you sure found it," I smiled at him and he raised his eyebrow. "Didn’t think anybody would be here." "Well we are. Are you alone?" "Yeah, for right now at least." "What are you lookin’ for?" "Hey! That’s my friend!" I suddenly heard Carl shout from behind me. I turned to look at him as he walked up to Daryl and I realized I could lower my gun. "You’re friends with this redneck?" Mom came walking out of the backroom now too and smiled when she realized everything was okay. "This is Daryl Dixon, coolest redneck I know," Carl said and Daryl grinned slightly, amused by the young mans comment. "Are you hungry Daryl?" Mom asked from behind me and I looked at her and shook my head while I sighed. She was always takin’ care of people, even when we could barely feed ourselves. "I actually am ma’am," Daryl said and cast me a glance. I lowered my weapon and sighed again. "I’ll go make something, get comfy," she said walking off. Carl followed her happily, glad he had been found and glad everything was okay. I looked at the redneck and raised my eyebrow. "You ain’t stayin’ long," I told him and he grunted. "Wasn’t planning on it." "Good." "Yeah, good." For a moment it was silent, in all honesty all I wanted was to keep my mother safe and we had been just fine here. I didn’t trust people, but these guys seemed alright for now. "Have a seat, and keep your hands off our stuff," I said and walked into the backroom where Carl was helping my mom. "So what do you think of him? He’s a really nice guy," Carl said. "Yeah, but good looks and a kind heart ain’t gonna get him far though." "Hey Daryl! You hear that? She thinks you’re cute!"
I did come to L.A. to try to get on TV and get in front of a camera, so I could have a stage career in New York.

It doesn’t matter who you were. What you were doing before the turn, it doesn’t matter. Hasn’t mattered for a long time.
