🔥Seam sparring in the town square!🔥
Remembered I could just draw them interacting
What always made me laugh about that in canon is that (and in fairness maybe the Galvans didn't have this tech back then and/or the Incursans were being themselves) the Galvans rebuilt their own planet after the Highbreed blew it up and did so in under a year. Did Azmuth not think that would have been a better apology than slapping a peace sticker on a readily weaponizable device?
Dude suffers terminal tunnel vision sometimes (something he has in common with Ben, interestingly enough).

If Gems and Diamonds were considered a type of technology, what level would they be at?
I don't have like, a Kardashev scale analogue, but whichever level can compete with the Galvans and be very hard to parse even for Altean magitech.
Thanks for the reply! To clear, I was mostly making fun of my own hypocrisy with the Goku comment, as well as sharing my thought that Goku prime would probably be more excited than anything else at the prospect of starting from scratch in a universe full of new challenges, like replaying a game on harder difficulty now you know how it works. Vegeta prime would be pissed of course, and only partially mollified by the fact planet Vegeta still stands and getting to marry Bulma early, but who cares what he thinks.
If you don't mind I'd like to ask a couple of simpler questions for practice. I noticed that the Black Order clearly has both an extremely powerful armada and skilled tacticians, since the only two known planets to drive them off, with drastically different technological and military capabilities mark you, were successful because of unexpected variables, those being a titan sized Cybertronian and a suprise superhero team combined with Erik Selvig subconsciously sabotaging the portal and a whole lotta luck. As awesome as the avengers are there are definitely alien militarys capable of greater planetary defence, but the point is that earth was considered a backwater with the greatest challenge being a potential Thor being sent by an Asgard sans functioning Bifrost. That'sy new headcanon why they attacked through a sky portal, so they could just drop an army on Thor's head and overwhelm him before continuing the Decimation. With that being said, are there any planets that could possibly defend against a full attack from the black order (sans Thanos to be fair) if given a bit of time to prepare? I'm thinking Homeworld, maybe Asgard, and whilst I'm sure a lot of people consider/hope Xandar and Hala are on that list I'm not so sure.
Question 2, do any of the Nine Realms have sorcerer supremes, and who (without spoilers if that's possible) could be considered a possibile future sorcerer supreme? I've thought about Douxie and Claire, Gwen Tennyson, Jentry Chau (though she probably wouldn't want the position), Steven Universe, Sadie or Carter Kane, and Mabel, because as we all know the strongest magic of all is Mabel.
Yeah, I gathered as much, just wanted to talk about it for everyone's benefit since I haven't mentioned it in recent times!
To your first question, there's a few fortress worlds out there that could potentially fend off an attack from the Black Order, but not many. For the most part, you're talking homeworlds of the more prominent and well off species in the Nova Empire, as well as the most strategically valuable bastions for the Kree. I would also add that even when it comes to those worlds, their ability to fend off Thanos's forces would be contingent on speedy reinforcements - even Xandar and Hala themselves aren't well defended enough to just shrug off the Sanctuary worldship's assault without some serious back-up (and a lot of expected casualties, regardless).
Asgard is immune to attack from the Black Order because it does not exist in the material world. It exists in a higher plane of existence (not exactly like the Fourth World mythos of DC, but similar enough). The only way Thanos could assault it is by acquiring both the Space and Reality stones.
Homeworld is also immune to attack because it exists in another galaxy altogether. The Galvan Transportation Network (or warp network, coloquially) that the Milky Way denizens rely on for FTL travel does not extend past the galactic rim. Its colonies in the Milky Way also don't get attacked because there's...no point. By the time the Gems are done with a planet, there are literally no resources left for the Decimation to be "effective". I would assume Thanos would use the Stones to eliminate the Gems altogether (or at least banish them from the Milky Way).
To your second question, officially speaking there is only one Sorcerer Supreme per universe (Strange being the current one here, of course). The office, such as it is, is held by a single individual, who tends to act as a magnet and beacon for supernatural troubles - for example, Dormammu is drawn to Earth because the Sorcerer Supreme is on Earth. In practice, though, most worlds with any significant magical presence usually develop local analogues. I doubt we'll meet many, but I'll try to introduce a couple at least down the line.
Regarding who could be considered, really anyone with magical aptitude could be a candidate if they wanted to be. Being the Sorcerer Supreme isn't about being the most powerful magical practitioner out there. It's about knowing the craft and knowing how best to apply it, come what may, in the service and protection of everyone else.

Hello! I've been playing the guardians of the galaxy game, which has prompted me to go back and read your space based fics (if you've played it then no spoilers after chapter 11, though I am curious what you think, and if you're considering adding elements from it). It also made me wonder what characters like the ravagers, the collector (has he ever met Owl House Collector?), and that miserable, misbegotten son of a tetramand ballsack The High Evolutionary are up to in this universe. Well, that's a bit inaccurate, technically I want to know what every single character in guardians of the galaxy, including the space dog, is up to, but I'm aware you're not genie to be berated with questions. I'll just leave you with this.
Dragon ball fans: NoooOoOO, what's the point of including dragon ball if you don't include the extremely op and somehow both over and under explained power system!1!!111!!
Goku: haha universe full of opponents and challenges go brrr.
Before anyone gets angry it's me, I'm dragon ball fans, reading that the average Saiyan warrior is city level inflicted minor psychic pain, but I've commented on other fics that a good story (which you've made) is more important than accurate power scaling, and I can only be so hypocritical.
I haven't played the GotG game, but I do own it, and I watched a let's play of it up to a point. What I saw seemed pretty great, I just got distracted watching something else. It's in my backlog, haha.
The Ravagers are the biggest pirate association in the galaxy; they keep mostly to Wild Space (the ungoverned "north" of the galaxy) but routinely make incursions into both Nova and Kree space. Unlike real life Earth pirates, they're kinda like the idealized Pirates of the Caribbean version, where for the most part they have a code they stick to and generally don't engage in the killing of innocents or robbing the less fortunate. Basically, if you aren't rich or space-important, you don't have much to fear from them.
The Collector does what he does. He collects things. He lives in Knowhere (and some say he personally slew the Celestial whose head makes up the space station, though that's definitely unconfirmed and might just be propaganda), he runs the Tivan Mining Corporation, and he pays exorbitant sums for unique items to display in his non-Euclidian space museum. His procurement network also doubles as a spy network, for which he serves as an information broker. (he is also unaware of his TOH counterpart, since the Boiling Isles exist in a different dimension altogether).
The High Evolutionary...discussing him involves a lot of spoilers. But you can trust he's still making his amoral experiments. My plans for him predate GotG3, so don't expect the same circumstances, but they do exist on a similar level of awful (and include crossover elements).
I'll keep it brief with the (main) members of the GotG:
-Peter Quill / Star-Lord: close to MCU canon. Independent outlaw with a very inconsistent but still notorious record. Former Ravager (not by choice). His ancestry is...different in the Kverse.
-Gamora: still a "daughter" of Thanos (also not by choice). Desperately trying to figure out how to kill him (while still killing in droves in his name to keep up appearances). Nebula's on a similar kick, but she wants to kill Thanos because he personally wronged her, not for the greater good. She doesn't really care about the people the Black Order kills atp.
-Rocket & Groot: part of the Bounty Hunter's Guild (much to everyone's chagrin). Shockingly effective (and destructive, he gets penalized often). Groot joined him recently (and still takes a cut of the earnings, despite not having anything to spend on, to Rocket's annoyance).
-Drax: in Nova jail for life (yeah, right) 'cause he rammed his personal starship into the bridge of a Nova battlecruiser and killed most of the crew in a blind rage when its captain ordered a retreat from a Nova world lost to the Black Order. Used to fly around chasing and killing Black Order scouts all over the galaxy. Had a Chitauri-killing partner from Earth...
Definitely get where you're coming from with DB. I'm significantly less strict about that now than I was when I made those statements, and I'd say I'm willing to let characters potentially earn and reach DBZ-esque heights, but just by virtue of the somewhat more grounded setting, I really can't have characters going around blowing up celestial bodies like it's nothing (though that's not to say there aren't characters in the Kverse who can do that sort of thing already). There'll be a progressive escalation, don't you worry.
What happens to a Chimeran's spirit when Vilgax uses up their soul energy?
It doesn't work like a battery, haha. As long as their rage and despair remains, they will provide infinite regeneration - effectively, the conditions of the curse are to remain tethered to Vilgax's form until their wrath subsides, which would only happen if he succeeds in killing Thanos (or if there's hope for the Chimera to return, but that wasn't a possibility in their mind at the time).
Vilgax is still vulnerable to pain and exhaustion, so he's not invincible, but as long as the curse remains, he is unkillable. As mentioned in a recent ask, advanced sorcery could potentially lift the curse, but I think both of us, author and audience, can agree that that'd be an unsatisfying way to end his story. He's Ben's archnemesis, so Ben should be the one to defeat him, once and for all.

Was vilgax inspired by battlebeast
Mostly from what I remember battlebeast is cursed to be fueled by the combined rage of his species
Nope! I fully didn't know Battle Beast existed at the time and was only tangentially aware of Invincible altogether. I was never interested in it until the show came about, to be honest with you (not a big fan of the comic's art style). Purely a coincidence!
ONYX EQUINOX ART BOOK FROM ALLTHEANIME
Recently, UK anime distributor "alltheanime" released a special edition blu-ray of Onyx Equinox and it included a small art book with some familiar designs we've seen in the past plus some never before seen. I couldn't fit all the pages into a single post, so I'll link the last remaining in the next post. Link to remaining pages here
This is awesome!
I recognize the art at least of:
Sofía Alexander, Creator and Showrunner
Katy Ho, Character Designer
Johnathan Reyes, Creature Designer
Joey Mason, Art Director
If you want to check out some awesome artists! They should have been credited in the art book itself.
How do hybrids work with regards to death? Is Lotor's soul going to the Altean or Galra version of Hell? Or is it a shared custody with alternating Sundays?
Species is not necessarily tied with post-life existence! When that happens it’s usually because they have a worldwide theocratic form of government, but DNA has no effect on your fate.
If Lotor truly believes in the tenets of whatever the Altean faith was, then that’s what awaits him on the other side, and the reverse holds true for the Galra alternative. If he came to Earth and picked one of our many belief systems, then that’d determine where he would end up. The many death gods in charge of the various afterlives don’t typically care what you used to be in life - only what’s in your immortal soul.
