I forgot to post this. It wasn't long ago when I made these though.
Remember my other video when I redrew my old art just to show AI Bros that art takes skills? Well, for this video, I decided to do it again this time with some fan art, just because I like it. Itโs a little hard for me to pick because thereโs so much fan art that I drew, but I decided to limit myself with one franchise at a time and with traditional drawing. Letโs get started and letโs hope Disney doesnโt take the video down because I did two fanart of their movies, speaking of which, Disney if youโre watching this, remember these are fanart and one of them donโt even look remotely like the characters you created 55 years ago! Please, leave me alone!
I want to start with my humanized version of The Aristocats. For those who never watched the movie, The Aristocats takes place in France 1910. But back when I was drawing the main characters, I didnโt do any research and draw them based on the vibes to get their characters, so the clothes arenโt really accurate, unless a fashion history nerd says otherwise. Because of that, I decided to do my research this time, but to be honest, I was having a hard time finding the right era of fashion where the movie takes place. I was getting so confused with 1910s fashion and 1920s fashion that I mightโve ended up giving the Duchess a 1920s dress. I did have fun with Marie though. Itโs pink and itโs so Marie. If thereโs one thing I want to change, it would be her hair. I think the ponytail is perfect, but I feel like the hair itself should be ringlets. The clothes Berlioz and Toulouse are interesting as it is underwhelmingly easy. I looked up the fashion for boys in 1910 and as far as I know, itโs nothing but suits. Itโs almost as if suits never evolved throughout the ages. Giving the boys different suits is a bit tricky because the suits are really really similar until I decided on one for Berlioz and found just the one for Toulouse. Speaking of Toulouse, I don't why, but as a kid I think heโs fat. Even watching the clips he still looks like a fat cat to me. It could be because heโs slightly more round compared to his siblings and his whiskers donโt stick out as much as theirs either, so I decided to make him a little bit on the chubby side. What do you guys think? I hope you guys enjoy the speedpaint. And by the way, Disney, Iโll say this again: leave me alone! This is not a threat to your company or even the upcoming live-action remake.
Next up is Hiro, Tadashi and Baymax from Big Hero 6. Iโm honestly surprised how Big Hero 6 didnโt get a live-action and letโs hope it wonโt, at least for now. Anyways, for aย little context about the tally marks, I was asking my classmates which drawings do they like more and the top one wins and I decided to just draw that, not because itโs the most popular, not because, itโs MY personal favorite, it just gets the heart of the movie the most, at least thatโs what I thought. Plus itโs the first drawing I posted in Deviant Art, before its downfall. Iโll admit, while I do like how I drew Hiro and Tadashi, I didnโt like how Baymax turned out. In the redraw, he looks more deflated and the proportions look bad, even though his skeleton doesnโt have normal proportions like humans do. I was really hoping that maybe if I use digital art, I could fix it, but well, Iโll let you decide if I really did fit it. By the way I forgot to draw Baymaโs access port, so I drew it offscreen.
Finally is my version of Sonia from Sonic Underground. Now, I wonโt lie, I never watched a single episode of Sonic Underground and Iโm not planning to anytime soon, just because Tails isnโt there; that was a turn off for me. If youโre wondering why I decided to draw Sonia in the first place, well I donโt remember, I really donโt. The only thing I can remember is Iโve seen some redesigns of fans giving old Sonic characters a new look with a modern touch and I wanted to do it too and ended up with Sonia. Honestly, I was hesitant about redrawing Sonia, not because of what I just said, but because my skills for drawing Sonic characters still needs work. I mean itโs definitely an improvement compared to my first multiple tries when drawing Sonic characters, but still needs work. I can draw heads kinda decently, but the bodies are arguably the hardest for me. I donโt know what it is, but I feel like I everytime I try to draw the bodies they wouldnโt come out right, especially when I try to draw the boy characters, which would come out worse than my girl characters. Iโm not letting that discourage me, though. I want to learn that style because I love the franchise and I wonโt stop trying until I truly believe I got the hang of the art style. By the way, in case you didnโt notice, I recolored Soniaโs red parts of her gloves into a brighter red, so they could stand out more.ย
And thatโs it for today. I hope you guys enjoy it because I did. Except for drawing Baymax; that was a bit of a pain to draw. If you guys have any advice for drawings, especially for drawing Sonic characters, please let me, I would love to hear from you and learn. Bye guys, take care.
