  Meg shot up out of bed at the sound of someone barging into her room. “Wasgoinon?" she slurred. Kovu was standing in her doorway. He had woken her up from a long nap and was still half asleep. It had been a great dream. She was back in Washington DC with her brothers. She was five years old again, and they were playing in their pool. They usually ended up tackling each other in the water and trying to throw the little girl from one end of the pool to the other. It was usually entertaining, but at times ended badly. This dream, however, was good. They had been playing and being completely carefree. It was great.

He was frantic. The fresh blood still boiled beneath his skin and he was running out of options. Even after the Banzai incident Kovu didn't suffer the anxiety he was experiencing now. Meg rose to her feet and she looked as she was still half asleep battling the tired in her eyes. But he was too wound up to notice or care to slow down. He closed the door behind him because although he knew the school would eventually find out, the last thing he needed was someone overhearing them. He tried steadying his breathing but it was no use. Pacing around in her room, Kovu shook his head. "Amory. She-- I talked to Roxanne and she was crying and and-- Amory had tried choking her to death because she said that Rox was stealing me away from her but Am and I don't even talk anymore! And I went to confront Am and I just lost it. She completely denied it like she didn't remember any of it-- how do you not remember trying to kill someone?? She was being a bitch about it and I just okay one moment we were talking and the next my hands were around her neck." His hands clenched up into two fists and he sighed with aggravation.
