メルカヴァ Merkava

//Sorry for not being around folks, some serious real-life issues have come up and I’ll be gone for a long while taking care of them… I’d say this is good-bye again, but perhaps this time I’ll just say until next time! Thank you all for the fun! -Wald/Merk Mun

“Very well…. I’ll give you information on myself. My role is a necromancer, and I specialize in Death itself. I studied for years and years… and practice lead me to the point where I don’t fear death anymore.”

   “But rejoice... As you... and your pets... Unappetizing...”  Merkava shrugged nonchalantly as his voice spoke those words... “Anything more..? Or is that all..? Yuura the Necromancer... Is that all you are..?” While the question the voice spoke may have seemed cryptic, it’s tone was deathly serious...

                     “ Beautiful… Really?                             –Of course, you can call me that… ” Who wouldn’t want to be called that, in all honesty? He thought of her as beautiful, how cute.

   After a moment the void dropped the hug and looked towards the window, another thought caught his immediate attention, “One such as you... Needs better clothing...” he said as a single finger tugged gently at the blanket that now surrounded Kana, “Should I go... Obtain some for you..?”

   “No...” the voice spoke in her head softly, as a large finger gently poked her side, “You couldn't be... a demon...” the void knew only one red demon... He was very mean and foul mouthed... And tasted far too coppery...”You are... Too kind... to be called that...” his muzzle nudged her leg as if to prove his point, while waiting for Seven to respond.

“I don’t suppose you’ve ever heard of Space Dragons before, have you?

   The beast tilted his head down in thought at Ridley’s question, “No...” the voice spoke, “I don’t recall... Dragons perhaps extinct... On earth...” he looked up at the creature in front of him, “But here... We are surely... the last... Of our kinds...” Here in the city that they were trapped... Merkava was contained here against his will, just as Ridley was... “The Men in White...” the voice croaked finally, “They are responsible...” the void gritted his teeth, “They are elusive... Clever and devious...” the beast opened his maw wide, drool escaping it as the now deathly serious voice spoke, “Worthy prey... To hunt... To devour...”

           “ Yes, cute is very good!                  –Cute means you’re not scary!                           I’m cute, right? ” Kana grinned at the thought of a nickname, most people usually gave her one without consent. She was wondering what kind of name he would give her.                   “ Yes, you can give me a nick name, Merk-chan.                           –I’d love to hear what you’d like to call me.”

   He turned his head to the side blushing slightly, “Apologies... Not trying to gawk... at...” he paused, the answer came to him... He thought of the descriptor he thought of when he saw Kana for the first time, “Beautiful... is... What you are... Your body... Your kindness... Everything...” his eyes flicked back to her face, “May I... Call you that..? Beautiful..?”

   He looked up at her as she paused, he nodded as his voice spoke, “Interesting... Please continue..?”

“Interesting indeed… the things people do to gain power. I can’t believe people want to become God… really.”

   Soon after though the beast turned his head back towards the man, “Now you know me... Yuura...” Merkava took a few steps forward closing the distance, “Now... I would... Know of you...” the creature’s face was now only inches away from Yuura’s, “He who smells of death...”

“It’s alright, Merkava… I don’t like that whole name. I’m gonna shorten it to Merk-chan. I sounds way cuter and friendlier don’t you think?” Close friends give each other nick names, so she could give him one! Hopefully he liked it. She leaned over and patted him gently. He reminded her of a cute shark, with that head of his.

   “Merk-chan..?” the voice questioned, “Such a name is... Cute..?” Of all things the void had ever been called, ‘cute’ was not among them... “Cute is... Good, yes..?” The creature scratched his neck, perhaps a little embarrassed, “If I get one... Should I... Call you one too?”

   The void withdrew it’s head from the bed and locked eyes with Seven, “But...” the voice continued, “Will you... tell me your story... before I go..?”

“Re-Births...” he echoed, eyebrows raised. “Just what were you trying to become, if these Re-Births still have a chance?”

   “To become Re-Birth... Is to become... A God...” he let that sentence trail off in the man’s mind... He wondered what his reaction to that would be...

   Leaning weight onto her left leg, Ciri’s wooden sword whistled as it leaped from sheath to hand, ready to strike should it make any sudden movements. 

   The beast kept then proceeded to continue his feast, but as he did his voice reached out to the intruder’s mind, “I can... sense you there...” the voice rumbled, “Are you... Afraid..?” it asked mockingly, “Do you.. fear..?” each question was punctuated by snapping bones and ripping flesh... Until finally  the beast rose up again, this time standing up to it’s full towering height, “Will you run..?” the voice asked as the beast slowly turned it’s head back, it’s pale glowing eyes locking onto the shadows behind it...

  He craned his head down and nuzzled her gently as his voice spoke, “Seven... Awaken... Night is upon us...” He hoped this wouldn’t startle her too much, but he figured she would be more upset if she slept for too much longer... And besides, he still wanted to hear the story she promised him.

    “I don’t see any reason for me to leave so soon, Merkava.” He was like her. Pushing people away before they could get hurt, but that just ended in the loneliest of results. “Come, don’t you want some friends? I’ll be your friend until you grow tired of me…–How does this sound?” She asked, reaching over to him carefully and touching his long dark back. A soft pat here and there.

   The creature moved slowly and gently as he brought Kana in and hugged her. “Yes...” the voice murmured to her as he nuzzled her face with his, “Thank you...“ Merkava held the hug for a long moment... The warmth of her body on his cold skin was a sensation he had not felt in a long time... Though he broke away from her a second later, “I... Sorry...” the voice was a tad flustered, worried that the hug may have been a bit much,  “Just happy... That I have... Friend in Kana...”

She couldn’t just up and leave him, especially when he looked so pitiful. “You haven’t hurt me at all, you know… I won’t be going anywhere any time soon, okay?”

   The beast’s head lifted from his chest to look at the woman, “And it makes me... Hunger...” his head lowered again, “To extinguish life... to extend my own... Is that not evil..?” But her words caught him off guard... He stood slowly from his position his wings became arms again as he walked toward her, “You lie...” the voice murmured, his rough clawed hand once again touched her scar, “I caused you... Pain...” his face looked sad and confused, “Yet you... Want to stay..?”
