For now here is a quick rough draft of a future painting of Iori Yagami. I feel like i need to push the pose a bit more and make it more dynamic. I also want to add more people to the background to make it more interesting.

I originally tried painting this drawing back in 2020. To keep with the theme of the original attempt, I decided to go with a flat style. Though it would have been interesting to try it with my current style.

I was quite content with the simpler painting but I wanted to add in some lighting to really emphasize that summer vibe.

I can finally draw again. For now here's a rough draft. For now it's the main idea.

I was hoping to edit this painting a bit more after giving it some weeks till I got back to it. But due to certain things going on I think this will have to do. Perhaps in a couple of months or years I'll come back to it. Having said that, overall it captures what I was intending to do.

Aside from the lighting, I also redid the grass and made some edits to Rei's proportions and repainted some of her facial features.

This will be the background for a RE:do of a past painting that I did years ago.

I wasn't too happy with the way I drew Fiona last year so I decided to give it another try. I edited a couple of things and personally feel she looks much better.

In order to continue to test out Krita I decided to do a study of Momochi using one of her photos from her digital photobook vol. 77. I was at first using a really scuffed reference photo until I remembered to search for a high quality version.

The oil brush is still not quite there yet but the blender tool is the best I've tried so far. I just wish I had the ability of using the sargent brush in Krita. I really miss it.

Line art for my Momochi RE:do. The main changes were the head proportions, hands and the face structure.

This background will be for a RE:do of an old painting I was unsatisfied with. Background still needs some work but the main idea is now there.

I have a couple of art that I made years ago, I think it is time to give it another go with my current abilities.

Now with all the line art completed I can finally compile them in place. In order to not have the line art clash I added a white backing to help overlay upon their respective layer. With that ready, next comes painting the background and eventually the characters.

It's been months since I was waiting to upload this painting of Asuka. Working with reflections from the rain was a good experience.

Still a bit rough but I am getting used to Krita. By this point I still hadn't used my new edited brushes though. Practicing gives me a good excuse to paint Airi.

Rough draft of Momochi. I have been tweaking my brush as I have been painting. It still isn't quite there yet, but it is getting better. One thing I do prefer in Krita is the blender. It softens and merges the colors the best way out of all the art programs I've tried.
