A little while back I posted the first chapter of a lesbian sci-fi novel I’m writing on here. I’ve been working on it off and on for years, it’s a planned trilogy and im currently calling it The Hourglass Academy but that will likely change. I recently entered the first chapter in a contest on a whim and it won first place, and that lit a fire for me to finish it ASAP, and then it will be pitched to agencies. I created a server for it in the hope that maybe one or two of you would be interested in joining me over there. I’ll be posting chapters there, and there’s a small incentive for being a beta reader (explained in the unit placement channel). I’d be honored if a couple of you wanted to set out on a new lesbian adventure with me, this time to a super secret school many miles beneath the Atlantic, but if sci-fi isn’t your jam then I’ll catch you guys on the one after that! 💙

I wrote about 75% of a YA lesbian sci fi novel several years back and then shelved it. Entered it in a contest last month on a whim, and found out yesterday that it won. Shocked does not begin to describe how I feel, this site (Vocal) has so many brilliant and talented writers and this is a massive honor. Figured I’d share it with all you wonderful gays because LGBTQIA+ material is really lacking in sci fi and I think I’m gonna unshelve this guy and finish it this fall.

For anyone who might be interested, this is the first chapter of Beasts of Salt & Steel, the lesbian fantasy I’ll be throwing myself into writing immediately after finishing Bloom Town. I entered the first chapter in a contest which is why it’s on Vocal+, but I’ll let you guys know where future chapters will eventually be available in case you want to read more. (Also, apparently the judges look at how many people read and comment, so…hehe)
