i feel like everyone already talked about their takes on the finale so it felt a bit pointless to even try to tackle my feelings about it but!! here we are!! friendly reminder that no one's opinion is gospel, especially not mine, and if you think differently, that's okay!

i've watched it twice on theaters and then again on premiere last night and.... i wish i could love this episode as much as i love other episodes like 6. don't get me wrong, it's a good episode, probably the prettiest in the entire show, but it's not a good finale for me. i might change my mind after a few more rewatches but... i don't have high hopes. other people already said it better than me, so i won't waste too much of your time.
the pacing is too weird. the more i think about it, the more sure the finale got rushed for whatever reason. maybe i'm wrong but i know i'm not the only one complaining about how off the pacing felt. TADC should've had at least one more episode, or some scenes should've been reworked.
i'm still kinda on the fence about the SOMA theory/brain scans situation. i don't hate it but i don't love it either, and i'll be definitely not using it on my AUs because i've always had something else in mind when i started working on them.
Jax's backstory hit a bit too close to home, and as someone that relates too much in too many ways to that stupid bunny, the way the credits played really left a bitter taste in my mouth. take that as you will. i'm fine with Jax abstracting, and i've been expecting that since episode 6. it's just... everything else that bothers me.
i've mentioned it to some friends before but i'll make it official now that the episode is out for everyone: i'll be ignoring 90% of the episode regarding my AUs and i'll be doing my own thing. episode 9 is not good enough of a finale to make me want to change how things work on my current AUs, and i say this with all the love i have in my heart for this show.
that being said, i adore the fact that transfem Jax is canon, even if only implied during the show (i've seen Goose's posts on bluesky, don't worry). i won't be changing anything regarding him on my current AUs, being transmasc in one and intersex in another and at this point i'm treating this ugly bunny as my own OC/sona at this point (especially Angel), so i just assume we can safely say the Jax from my AUs is not the same Jax from canon. i'm happy for all transfem Jax believers, she's precious— *gets shot 57 times*
i am keeping Jax's irl name as Anthony btw
that's all i can think about for now. again, a lot of people already shared the same complaints better than me. i won't be leaving the fandom anytime soon even if the show is over!! TADC is very special to me and i made amazing friends around here, and i have a lot of passion for the show even if some things were really disappointing, so i'll do what i always do when this happens: i'll get the stuff i like and create new things around them instead of being upset about canon not going the way i wanted it to. i'll keep creating new stories, new art, new AUs. i love this show, i love these characters and i love all the good memories i made while being here.
