you can make keychains at home with paint pens (or markers, but paint pens work best in my experience) and trace your art onto shrink plastic. there are cheaper paint pens than brand name, you want fine tip. I use grabie paint pens, which were about 30$ for 72 colors (dual sided). Cut them out, use a hole puncher to punch a hole in the top for the keychain, and get some keychain stuff (keyrings and lobster clips) and bada bing bada boom! keychain! Its how I make ones of my oc for ita bags!
If you bake them for 3 minutes they get REAL small, I recommend maybe 1 or 1.5 minuets! (learning from my own mistakes TwT)
and with that, I can make about 100 keychains, if I can fit 4 on each sheet. Look for shrink plastic that doesn't warp (check reviews of online ones) and oven bake instead of a heatgun for most uniform results.
I recommend going in the order of outline, color, and then you redo the outline once you finish with the color. It should be fine to make them two sided. If you don't you'll be able to see the back, which is why you outline first (the initial outline will be visible on the back)
I am debating hot gluing them onto pin backings (I love my oc ita bag)
Happy keychain making! your first batch of supply buying might be kinda costly, but once you run through all those you'll only need to rebuy the keychain parts and shrink plastic, which are cheap in bulk.
Sorry if this is dense aha I vastly prefer making my own keychains instead of running through a 3rd party and I think other people should know that it's an option, especially if they're just for personal use or small scale!
Practice with the paint pens on paper first, the ones I got have a sheet where you can color in each individual color so you see what they look like and can reference that. You can blend and shade quite nicely as well, due to the liquid nature of the paint before it dries! Wait for the darker colors to dry before going over them in lighter colors, though.

celebratory art of my 8 month-old puppy coming home after getting lost earlier this month. she went missing on a walk when some fireworks scared her into the neighboring woods (the heatwave made this esp time sensitive, had my atheist ass praying for the first time in 6yrs). we searched miles of trees day and night, only for her to randomly sneak in from the backdoor at 1 in the freaking morning!!! (typical penny)
she sustained some injuries, but after a couple vet visits, she is safe and recovering well! it’s been difficult managing her recovery on top of rescue/medical expenses, so i’ll also have tips/comms open if you’d like to help. more than anything, i’m just glad i can go back to drawing w penny sitting in my lap :”)
