things that continue to piss me off endlessly about the pro-choice/pro-life debate;
disabled people quite literally constantly being portrayed as a burden to be rid of. âI could never raise a disabled child!â âDisabled children are so hard to have!â as if that isnât incredibly dehumanizing and disgusting to reduce disabled people as nothing more than a problem.
with that, the constant push for what is essentially eugenics.
the repeated âum lol wow pro-life people dont want to ADOPT how terrible and hypocriticalâ even though that isnât the case for everyone, and yet absolutely zero criticism is ever put against IVF for that exact reason. and adoption is solely put on the shoulders of people against abortion instead of everyone which would actually help more children in the system.
âpro-life is just a bunch of old rich white guys who want to control my uterusâ as if the thousands of women fighting for it arenât valid or even exist. as if one of the crucial founders of the feminist movement wasnât also staunchly pro-life.
roe v wade used as a big victory & driving force when the âroeâ of roe v wade heavily regrets her decision to have done that and is now devotedly pro-life.
basically every single erasure of powerful and intelligent women who stand on whatever side they stand on, simply to promote a narrative that pro-life is somehow âsexistâ, as if discounting womenâs opinions solely because they donât agree with you and because theyâre women isnât also sexist in itself.
