i should throw a f---ing beach party

I know there is a lot of discourse (tm) around this right now but listen to me

So at some point, Kris, Dess & possibly Asriel were all having a sleepover under the watch of Asgore; while Toriel, Rudy & the mom were away. (Some characters may vary, the crucial 3 being Kris, Asgore & Dess. I don’t think Noelle was there, as she seems not to know the circumstance of Dess’ disappearance.) 

A storm is coming in & Asgore discovers they are out of some crucial groceries. They will be snowed in by morning. Asgore decides to go to the store & tells Dess & Kris to stay home & not leave the house. He leave in good trust that they will listen. At some point while he’s away, perhaps the house loses power. Now with silence they can hear an odd sound outside. They stay awhile, but it’s getting cold & Kris is scared. Dess being bold goes outside, leaving Kris in the house. 

She tries to turn on the power & when she can’t, she decides to investigate further. She somehow gets to the bunker, which the squealing metal door being the source of the odd noise. While investigating, a gust slams the door against her & she falls in: possible tumbling down stairs & the metal door locks behind her. Now injured, light most likely broken & freezing, she could have been unconscious for awhile; allowing the door to freeze shut. She may come to in unknown health & can’t get out. Meanwhile, Asgore return to find Kris upset & alone. He panics & asks where Dess is. Kris not knowing just says “outside”. Asgore looks for Dess, but the storm has kicked in full & he can’t find her. He calls Rudy & they all return. Toriel & the holiday mom are confused, worried & angry. They stay with Kris (possibly Noelle & Asriel) while Rudy & Asgore go look for Dess.

Sadly, they never find her & Rudy gets pneumonia from the cold. Both Toriel & Holliday mom blame Asgore to various levels for leaving the kids alone. Kris is deeply upset as he was there, but Dess is gone. Everyone has high emotions & doesn’t handle it well. Holiday mom wants nothing to do with the Dreemurs anymore & it crushes Toriel. Rudy never blames Asgore or Kris, as he knows this was all an accident.

Asgore being part of the police at the time, would pour everything into this. He blames himself. Eventually, many months later, on an unrelated report near the bunker: Asgore makes a discovery. He padlocks the doors & leaves in a forlorn panic. He suddenly changes. He starts impeding further investigation. (as stated in game from clues.) He sends more flowers to the Holidays & becomes withdrawn from Toriel. She is deeply upset as he won’t answer why & is now acting strangely. They fight alot. She eventually divorces him, at the expense of Kris & Asriel. All the while, Kris has been slowly eaten by survivors guilt & painful rumors that he may have had a hand in Dess disappearance. Him being the strange human child & all. Asgore knows though, but the truth is, well, too painful to be made known. The Holidays still survive on hope. That slim hope. Asgore couldn’t live with himself to crush that hope.
