junk journal and scrapbook ecosystem
sooo a little bit of my ecosystem that has been long requested of one of my followers here! i’m sorry it took quite long 🥹 but here’s where i do my junk journaling and/or scrapbooking.
1) BIG JOURNAL - SEASON’S GREETINGS DIARY
ACTUALLY this is a season’s greetings diary! while most of the time, people don’t really use it or dispose it after the year expires— I absolutely love these diaries. I use them for journaling since it’s either an inclusion for something I bought as a whole or somebody gives them away (and i grab the opportunity!)
This one’s my newest! I just officially started it last January (although I did an introductory spread in it November last year). However, it did start to bulk up a little bit. These mostly contained the kpop events I’ve attended, fan artists catalougues, or simply just inclusions from art markets/events I also attended. This doesn’t contain anything closely personal to me (at least for now) since, I usually utilize the large spread to conform to a theme or a palette.
If you like large spaces to fill up, this one’s recommended! Orrrr if you have large things to paste such as paper bags, invitations, postcards— this size would probably fit you! And for fellow kpoppies, try to utilize the diary/notebook inclusions because the spine does perform well :D
2) MEDIUM JOURNAL - A6 MUJI UNDATED PLANNER
u can see, it’s the chonkiest lol. i started this one last year May and i only have a few more pages left (like 4-5 spreads). although it’s kinda difficult to set up things with how chonky it is rn.
this one is my usual my go-to since it’s not too big and not too small. especially on days that journaling may or may not be done, or if i’m traveling! most of the times, my travels mean work so it’s really tentative of me to have a good chunk of time for leisure BUT!!! it’s the little things that count :D i either do my jujo in free times or when i get home and i’m done with my deliverables. it’s handy for versatile situations as it is physically manageable to carry around (in a small bag) and! it doesn’t really overwhelm you to do a lot with the not too small and not too big space.
as mentioned, this is my preferable go-to so this is a mix of my kpop, music, art events, and my personal episodes in life. iinstance, i have this spread here containing the daily milks that I drank when I had my research training abroad! i frequented in the convenience store since it was way cheaper and balances my personal budget.
3) SMALL JOURNAL - M5 LOOSE LEAF BINDER NOTEBOOK
this is one of my longest jujo since I just replace it with loose leaf! i think it’s been with me for 3, almost 4 years? as you can see, the journal tie/elastic has already loosened 😓 though I’m changing it with a tie that a dear friend will give me (thank u rosh!)
like the medium one, this one’s handy to bring due to its size. i also prefer bringing this as well in travels/hangouts! especially when there’s free stamp stations :D the loose leaf pages fits most of the time! you can opt to stamp in a blank page so you can remove it later and use for another spread or you can stamp as a part of the spread!
this one’s really good for beginners or those who don’t want to feel overwhelmed filling up the pages. and it’s okay when you have days where you wanna journal but just shortly— just a small chunk of your life for a greater chunk of peace helps. small spaces complete you too :D
i’m also fond of cutting out grocery brochures into smaller pieces (godsent junk material really) and I fill my small journal with it! so if you do have an inkling like me :D this one’s good!!
lastly, this one’s what I actually prefer in terms of separating spreads that are vv personal and some stuff I can share publicly. what I do is i use dividers to separate things. then i can also remove them and bind them permanently to be a standalone book so i can make more space for new memories or ideas.
i hope this yapping isn’t much overwhelming but it boils down to a matter of preference— especially in terms of paces. life’s already rough :) so don’t journal out of chore and more horribly, out of being performative to conform a fake perfect image online.
some things can be shared and some things might not see the light of day bc it pieces to complete you instead :D
