“A variation of the Bard, but for dancing instead of music. The Dancer may give new meaning to the Sabre Dance and have too much fun doing it.”
Introducing Aphria, the 25 year old Lady of House Everette. She is a Mermaid and bears a striking resemblance to Freya Mavor. Sorry, she’s taken.
In the early years of her life, Aphria grew up happily surrounded by her parents and older sister. However, the memories she has of these years are few and faded, as she was only nearly 6 when her father passed away and she and her sister were placed into the care of a governess. Due to the distance between them after her father’s death, Aphria has never had the closeness with her mother that she possesses with her sister, but most days spent together are pleasant, so long as Aphria’s love for dance does not become a topic of discussion.
Aphria has always loved to dance, first with her sister until they grew too old to play the games that they had enjoyed as children, and then, beginning in her early teens, with whoever she could find at gatherings and in the squares of the kingdom. At first, her mother had tried to insist that Aphria at least avoid dancing amongst the lower class, but despite having followed all of the other rules that her mother had set, she could not bring herself to obey this one.
Aphria’s tail did not appear for the first time until she was 15, a fact that she outwardly bemoaned as it had taken so much longer than her sister. However, she couldn’t bring herself to appreciate it nearly as much as her sister seemed to, as she would always prefer dancing on land no matter her new abilities. However, she couldn’t help but love the feel of the water moving gracefully across her skin as she learned the dances of the sea, as well as the freedom of traveling to new places that had previously been barred from her.
Upon meeting The Governess in court, she and Aphria became fast friends. It did not take long before Aphria would drag The Governess along on her escapades, loving the companionship from one who seemed to have the same love for dance as she. However, whereas Aphria has always been supportive of her sister’s engagement, she cannot say that she ever held the same esteem for her best friend’s choice of husband. She nearly always kept the words to herself, but it became more and more of a struggle as she watched her friend get hurt, especially after the discovery of The Warrior and The Mistress’s affair. Some nights, it became too much to bear, and she would speak freely, if only for a moment, of how deep her dislike of the man ran, but if The Governess willed her to never speak of it again, she would hold her tongue, if only to keep her closest friend by her side.
+ Charming, Sincere, Loyal
- Judgemental, Fanciful, Disorganized
The Traditionalist & The Peacemaker (Mother & Sister): She loves her mother, though their relationship can at times seem a bit strained. Her sister helps the two keep their discussions civil, especially when her mother starts complaining about her dancing.
