Our apologies for the missed day- Kokichi just refuses to get ready! Even with Kaito's scoldings, he's still uncooperative and won't get ready for the big prom day. Despite his outbursts, perhaps he's... shy? Here we are with our final Pride Week ship in the zine, and it's @/_soldier__el with OUMOTA! She says, "I love oumota because of their dynamics in the game, enemies to lovers always do something. Plus their contrast in thoughts and morals is really charming but they are two sides of the same coin, it just doesn't let you get bored thinking about them... and chapter 5 did their magic of course. About their identities... I'm non binary myself and I see Kokichi and Kaito both as non binary, everything is simple. But actually I don't know it just fits into their images for me. Also Kaito is so much gay. You can't prove me wrong"

Second to last for our Pride Week is @sumitart​ with OUMAMI! With Kokichi partying the night away, it's no wonder Rantaro may get a little tired. Either way, who else could possibly be Kokichi's dance partner but him? Ray says, "I just think they’re neat, pre-release era v3 fans understand. Remember that official art? Impeccable."

Halfway done, and fourth up to be featured in Pride Week is @/shernoel.art​ with TOKOMARU! Before partying in the background of yesterday’s highlight, the girls need to get ready! Toko may be nervous, but Komaru knows just how to make her look and feel her best at prom. 

Noelle says,

“I love the dynamic these two have and how their relationship develops throughout the game, and how they learn to trust one another. They’re always there for each other in the end and I find that really really sweet!

I see them both as bi!″

Third to be featured in Pride Week is @redactedhaunt​ with KOMAHINA! With Nagito's constant bad luck, who better to watch him than Hajime himself? Not only that, but Toko and Komaru are in the background bearing witness to the scene! "I love komahina's dynamic and how the fandom interprets them in multiple ways. They have so many layers as characters, especially when they interact. With Komaeda's FTEs and moments with him in chapter 1, we see him pursuing Hinata (in his own, special awkward way) ...and his eventual love confession...  along with how much Komaeda affects Hinata emotionally throughout the entire game; these two have something complex going on between them. They're an interesting example of how some LGBT relationships can be sometimes confusing and multilayered! But most importantly, they complete each other. <3″

“I hc imposter as non-binary and Ibuki.. I honestly don’t know but she’s definitely queer for sure! Maybe pan perhaps? She also gives big she/they vibes too.

My basis for imposter is that they don’t really have their own identity since all they’ve ever known is to become other people. Therefore, they feel comfortable in all sorts of genders!”

Up first for our Pride Week posts is @crimsonsnippet  with his piece featuring Naegami!

He says, “my piece showcases naegami because honestly, it’s my favorite completely misunderstood ship. if any of you know me you’d know I can talk about byakuya for hours (read the light novels!!) and their dynamic is honestly everything to me. as well as them being a non straight ship, I also hc byakuya as genderfluid as he has a lot of chihiro-esque trans coding and a heavy crossdressing plot in his light novel series, danganronpa: togami.”

For the next week, we will be highlighting many of the LGBTQ+ ships portrayed in the zine!

Throughout the week, each contributor’s artwork and ship portrayed will be discussed. Each ship gets their own post and own day to feature them! We hope to see you following along throughout the week! 🏳️‍🌈

Keep in mind that these may not be all of the LGBT characters or ships- just because a relationship looks cishet on the surface doesn’t mean it is! These are simply the contributors that volunteered to be highlighted.

From helping contributors to moderating the Instagram and Discord, as well as providing a page illustration and the first stretch goal- it's Mod Saishii's turn in the spotlight!
