I wanted to get back into making CC with something a little bit smaller, and then I hand designed 35 unique magazine covers. Whoops. Please Enjoy this little set!

The Sims 4 is really lacking in the vintage electronics department tbh so here’s a set!

Details & info: This set has 5 items in total:

A VHS machine with 3 swatches; white, gray and black.

A remote control with 3 swatches to match the VHS,

And 2 video cassette tapes!

There’s also a version where the remote & cassettes are stacked on top of and around the VHS. (in case you prefer to have them “all in one”, so to speak).

Both VHS players have slots to place and stack items on top of.

Note(s): These items are purely decorative and don’t actually function as a Video Home System.

Screenshots were taken using shaders, so colors may differ a little bit in-game.

oh boy this has been a longass project. literally got to the point where i was seeing the blender interface when i closed my eyes to rest at night.

21 various historical (40s, 50s, and 60s) hairs from retired creator curbs, retextured with my edit of oddivia's maxis-match textures. meshes were edited to reduce polycount and fix errors. polycount was reduced by at least a third or a half on most hairs, but as a warning these hairs are still higher poly than most maxis hairs. fran and teresa in particular are around 24k polys, and tina is 32k polys (I TRIED). all hairs have all 24 maxis colors, edited lods for lod0 and lod1 (the other two are all very bad for some reason and i don't know how to fix that), and 90% of them have working hat chops. tested in-game. the hairs were all originally numbered, but i added names to help avoid confusion. custom thumbnails added as well.

minutiae: these hairs are not perfect. the doris/dottie hairs and the linda/loretta hairs in particular have some really visible polygon shit going on up close/in cas, and i don't know how to fix that (this is a recurring theme). there are still some strands/transparency on the hairs but it is minor. i know the patricia/pauline hairs have fucked up hat chops, which i can probably fix in the future. there's a line on the hairline of the pamela hair (i don't know how to fix that). the textures themselves are not perfectly maxis-match, but more like maxis-approximation-without-remapping-the-entire-goddamn-mesh. alpha hairs are just mapped differently from what i learned during this project. i plan on updating this set with these fixes once i learn how to do them. if anyone else CAN fix these issues, i openly welcome you to do so.

regardless: i hope these hairs can be useful for other decades and historical players. i put a lot of time and tears into this project and i think the results came out well, all things considered.

This set is inspired by: early 80s computers, my dad’s office when he taught electrical engineering, and VHS tape artifacts. Many of the pieces in here are stylized versions of real-life things, which I’ve included more info about under the cut.

This is actually the first time I did hair for kids and toddlers! Plus there’s also a default version for adults??? And a recolor for each? Gotta read carefully.

→ Automatic Result (Adult) - For teen to elderly gals. - A nice short bob with a nice undercut, run your hand through it. - EA colors contains the mesh, the Janky Palette is just an extra → Automatic Result (Adult - Default) - Same as the one above, but it replaces the BG Short Bob. → Automatic Result (Child) - A unisex child version of the hair, that’s it, same specs. → Automatic Result (Toddler) - A unisex toddler version of the hair, literally just a age conversion.

Maryellen Hair - BGC

I haven't been too keen to try working with hair, but figured I'd give this one a shot since it was just meshing bangs to a ponytail. Despite a ton of frustration, I think the end result turned out nice. (At least it looks cleaner than would be canon, since Maryellen cuts her own bangs in The One and Only).

The bow has an overlay accessory found in piercings. There are versions for solids (that specifically match the meet dress), ginghams (match the school dress and play outfit) and polka dots (match the poodle skirt). Please feel free to recolor, my TOU are below.

Overlays also work on the original hair from Kids Room Stuff.

I've noticed mostly with the first swatch on the gingham overlay that it can get stuck even when you click on a different one or remove it. If that happens, keep clicking around on the swatches until you get the one you want.

Not hat compatible, since it doesn't really make sense for this style.

I really needed a vintage 20s/30s style uniform for my future historical gameplay and I managed to create one inspired by different historical uniforms.
