Vietnamese - is from a laguage group really foreign to me and that's exciting. Also there are a lot of vietnamese immigrants in my city. Would unlock travel opportunities. Would unlock friendships. However, it is a tonal language and I will be fucking it up constantly.

russian - plenty of immigrants from post-soviet countries in my city, a loooooot of them speak russian or understand it better than english, czech, or slovak. Would unlock a lot of opportunities to help people. Would unlock friendships. Would also give me weird looks and a moral dilemma.

Both have writing systems I am unfamiliar with. I would have plenty of opportunities to practice them, though, since there are a lot of native speakers in my city and both are taught at my university.
