After leaving the little slice of hell she’d been residing in, Bonnie knocked on the door of her home for the first time since she’d left the house in the first place. She was barely holding it together after she said her final goodbyes to the heretic that had been her only companion throughout it all, and she couldn’t even manage a smile as tears threatened to spill out. She knew she needed to tell her family members goodbye, to tie up all of her loose ends, and she decided Damon was as good a start as anything. The flashes of a life she still didn’t entirely remember had plagued her since she woke up, and now that it was all going to be coming to a close, she needed Damon to know that. She was dying, and she had to know she’d set something right in the time she had left. So, as she teared up she simply knocked on the door, praying he’d answer it.
opening the door, seeing her face — the vampire wasn’t ready for it. emotions instantly stirring up at the sudden reappearance of the bennett witch. anger, relief, worry. the look on her face was a clear giveaway that something was wrong. he wished he could pull her in, kiss her, console her. but every stubborn fibre in his being forced him not to, opting instead for an unimpressed glance as he leaned against the door frame. unforgiving and hurt icy blue eyes staring her down. “ what — has your boy toy finally had enough of you ? ”
