RACHEL: We can't afford Ryder to start finding things out or asking too many questions.

RACHEL: Sam has agreed to ask his Father whether we can have an interview. I suppose we just wait until we find out.

BRODY: You can count on me. I'll let you know if he starts doing a little too much digging. I think the interview should tide him over for a bit.

RYDER: Yeah, she mentioned that. I've got a few pics I thought would be pretty cool for it, but something with the cops sounds like a good idea too. I'll bring my portrait lens.

You’re way ahead of me then. Oh, I know. It’s definitely a tough call but I think I’m gonna do something spectacle-ish, personally. I think San would appreciate it. 

I get it, man.  If I were in your shoes I’d be the same.  No problem, Evans.  I eat the romantic stuff up.  Go big or go home, right?  I think a grand gesture is a good call.  Is Santana gunning for the crown?

Look, nobody knows for sure it’s not the homeless guy that hangs out around Acme on the weeknights, so there’s no reason to dip into our hard-earned cash when we don’t know jack about the body. I don’t know about you, but I’m not about to let those car washes and bake sales go to waste, and I’m definitely not getting my prom on in the gym. 

BRODY: Thanks again for stopping by and helping with the arrangements. I got no problem cutting stems for a few hour, but it helped having somebody else to field all my mom's questions and theories about the case.

You’re possibly one of the few, yes. But I think you know that.

RACHEL: I'm relying on the fact that there's no evidence to go by, but the minute there's something released, he's going to spring on it. I mean, I'm trying to convince Marley to distract him a little, but she's caught up on the conflict of morality.

RACHEL: Just make sure to run it by me first, and you have yourself a deal.

RACHEL: I'll talk to Sam and ask him to arrange an interview for you and Ryder. I doubt there will be anything interesting to report, anyway.

BRODY: It's a little late for that isn't it? The dirty work is done.

BRODY: Sure thing. I don't want Pierview's own Lois Lane on my case. It's a little too early in my career for that.

RACHEL: Yes, the lake. He's trying to be some kind of Nancy Drew and it's driving me insane.

RACHEL: Thank you. Thank you so much, Brody. I owe you one.

RACHEL: That depends. How long do you think it'll take?

BRODY: He's gotta get bored eventually right? I mean it's not like the cops are saying much.

BRODY: I'll keep that in mind for when there's a story I really want to write ;)

It’s cool, none taken. I mean, it’s not like I would go to my dad about stuff like that anyway, but I get what you’re saying. Uh, I hope it does cause that’d be pretty embarrassing if I got a no. Maybe a little bit of both? But probably more of the first one cause I got a lot more heart to spare. Flashy and memorable, got it. You already know what you’re gonna do and who you’re asking? 

I know that.  I know ten other people who know that, but who knows what everybody else is thinking.  If you need any help with setup or anything just lemme know.  Cupid can work a little overtime this year.  I got a couple ideas.  I’m just struggling between making it some big spectacle or for her eyes only, ya know?

RACHEL: Ryder has this somewhat fascination with the disappearance of Sebastian and the finding of a body. He's taken several photographs and appears to envision an entire section in The Chronicle reporting the coverage.

RACHEL: I need somebody who I know I can trust to be put in charge of writing this. Somebody under the full knowledge and awareness of the importance what we did. I realize this may well be placing you in an awkward and uncomfortable situation.

RACHEL: Would you be at all interested in working alongside Ryder on this, Brody? Evidently you'll be doing the writing, he'll be the photographer; so you'll be the one calling the shots and monitoring the entire thing. There's no one else I can think of to ask.

BRODY: Photographs of what? The lake?

It looks like I’m entirely lucky to have such a dedicated and determined journalist within The Chronicle staff. Why we didn’t add you to the team years ago I’ll never be sure.

You were playing hard to get.  It’s cool, I get it.  Better late than never though, right?

Me too. I’m just going to keep all my important things on me at all times so that way even if they get into my locker there is nothing they can take. Fingers crossed this was just a one time thing and I do’t have a super heavy backpack the rest of the year. But your right, with everything going on there’s just a weird feeling in the air, and its making school stranger. You bring them every day? I can only imagine how annoying that might be, but at least you’re prepared.

Any updates from your secret admirer?  I do, but it’s not as obnoxious as it sounds.  I drive my dad’s old work truck, so they just stay locked up in there until I need ‘em.
