Thanks to our cruise, I finally saw Avengers: Infinity War (and thankfully didnât have to pay for it). Iâm a huge comic book fan and have enjoyed the movies thus far because they deviate from the comic books with great action and stories. Although we (anyone who read a Marvel comic in the early 1990âs) have been seeing the old Infinity Gauntlet story line since Captain America, Marvel Studios pulled it together for this installment. I understand that lack of access to key characters due to licensing is the main reason certain key components of the original storyline are missing. But, with that in mind, I still have a few âinternalâ issues (not all negative) with how the story plays out. I donât think these are spoilers but be cautious (and youâve probably already seen it if youâre going to as itâs on DVD now): 1. Thanosâ Motivation for the âsnapâ - Appeasing Lady Death vs. Fighting Over Population... discuss. 2. The Mind Stone - Thanos had it prior to Avengers... Why would he give it to Loki?? 3. The (never mentioned) Infinity Gauntlet - we saw it already in two previous movies as a quick glimpse... although, obviously replicas....why would the dwarves have to make something from scratch? 4. Wakanda - Is there a link to one of the Infinity Stones and the Vibranium in Wakanda or not? (I may have misread something on the web). 5. Adam (Warlock) Glimpse (GOTG2) - I read it was for fun and no intent to include him which is fine since we have no Silver Surfer to distract him and another key character is dead already... but he was a badass in print. Missing him. 6. Dr. Strangeâs future sight - Knowing how fragile and self-doubting Iron Man is, I hope he left him a clue. 7. âWeâre all to blameâ - almost every character in the film makes some mistake that will lead them to believe âI could have prevented thisâ but they all cease to exist except Iron Man... coincidence? 8. Red Skull... thatâs all. 9. Thorâs new Groot-handles axe... awesome. 10. Back to the original Avengers movie... why did Thanos want to send his armies to earth?
