"Porca miseria," he muttered, rubbing his temples. "I had rather hoped he decided to turn up for a night and would leave on his merry way."

"Are you saying you'd have just left the poor little thing there?"

"I'm simply saying that badgers aren't exactly the typical domesticated sort of creature. Or perhaps I'm gravely misinformed."

"Would it make you feel better if I was?"

"Admittedly, no. But I had rather thought that my makers had gained back better favor in recent years."
