My Kcon LA 2016 Convention Experience Saturday!
I have decided to write out my entire adventure and feelings about it instead of making a video about it.
I don’t know how I feel with cameras to my face. Snapchat is one thing but for me to have to record, edit and make an additional card for Vingle (Which is most likely where a majority of y'all come from)… It’s a lot for me to handle! 😅
This will probably be a long read so I will most likely split this experience in two different posts for each day!
(I was not able to attend Friday Convention because of prior engagements AKA My Last Day of Work)
Let’s start with how long my journey from Santa Ana to Los Angeles was… 3 hours. From 6:40 -9:50. That’s how long 😒 I thought I would feel safer taking the bus since I have taken busses all my life. While I did feel safe with this, I got over the “joy” of the adventure after the first hour.
I took two busses to get from my house to the LA Convention Center and when I got there, they were asking for more P3 ticket holders so I went straight into registration without the wait time everyone else had. (Sorry guys!) I felt very weird since I was there by myself and I think since I come from a very Hispanic/ Latino neighborhood, I felt like everyone’s eyes were on me. There was this one girl who actually pointed at me and laughed though. It kinda irked me, but I didn’t want to linger with horrible thoughts! You see, my thinking for life had for the past 8 months and will be for the future, positive vibes only! 😊
Registration: This went by fast, there was no line for the P3 ticket holders. Went up to the person at the booth (which originally said General btw, I guess they forgot about P3), gave them my tickets and waiver form and continued on my way. Like I said, pretty fast. I was alone, however, but decided to linger a bit close to registration. I looked at my chances and got both I.O.I and Twice which I believe occurred Friday and I don’t really care for twice (sorry Twice fans). So no luck for me there 🙄 BUT what I did come across was someone selling Astro audience and Block B audience. Naturally I bought them both! I needed to at least see Astro and take pictures for my Vingle Astro Mod Squad!
This is where I hated the way things were run.. I was already inside the convention but I was confused as to whether I had to exit out and enter again so I waited in a random line and just guessed. The security basically called all of those near me to go to the back of the line. We were confused as to where exactly that was but we were like ok fine I’ll go. I got outside the convention area and who do I see? One of my Vingle fam members from Puerto Rico! I finally met her! I was super excited! We were planning this for a while but I never guessed it would be so fast. We waited in line for like almost an hour for bag check .. Yes the checking of bags everyone!
Once inside, I spent some time in the actual center hall where all the booths. I got a lot of free items that were really cute like 2 handheld mirrors, some fans, a usb powered fan and one for my iPhone, battery powered fan. (I think fans were their favorite item to give out) We were there until both my friend and I felt the need to go wait in line for Block B. Keep in mind this engagement started at 1:00pm... We started walking like at 11:30 am .. As ridiculous as this may sound .. There was already a long line excluding those who were there for the hi-touch (that was a lot more). After the long almost 2 hour wait, we went into the engagement. I saw my cuties 😍 but those dang selfie sticks in front of me made it so difficult 😭. (Pictures should be on my card on Vingle.)
After that my friend and I went separate ways and I decided to roam by myself since I knew that would be the case. I went to many different panels. I met some people along the way to the panels like Nicola and Miles and Jeffrey.
Panels I attended: •I'm foreign and I live in Korean (Where I met Woojongyi and took a picture) •Talk to Me in Korean KPop Lyrics 101 (Met and Took a picture with them too!) •Day in the Life of a K-Pop YouTube Superstar Part 1 (Saw JRE but didn't officially meet him until Sunday!) (Wanna know about these panels, let me know and I will make a separate post!)
After these panels, I decided to go to the concert line and see how bad it was... I should have left waaaaayyyy earlier than I had. But once I was in there... I ended up switching my seat with another girl since she was already in my seat when I got there with I believe her friends and family. But I got to my new seat and ... Well I'll leave that for the next post which will mostly be videos!
Bye for now everyone! If you want to know more about my experience, let me know! I will be posting more about Sunday in a couple hours!
