unfortunately just finished veilguard n no spoilers, but the ending ruined the entire game for me idk man I'm so upset it would have been such a good ending was it not for some stupid unavoidable choices. i wanted a me2 ending, not me3. literally just feels hollow now
I was making new rooks n planning my new playthroughs before, but now idk if I ever want to pick up that game. was it perfect? no. but it was so good up until the ending. it's like bg3 for me now, ruined by an ending where my choices barely matters
n wtf is up w the pacing of the romances??? there's barely any acknowledgment of the romance itself other than a few npc conversations n wtf is up w the timing of the sex scene?? the last thing I wanted at that point was for my rook to get laid like wtffff 😭
there's slowburn, n then there's whatever tf this is. "mature romance" my ass it was such a wasted potential 😭 loved all the companions but the pacing was not it n the romances they had w each other made much more sense

very vauge spoilers im actually fine w the overall ending for most of the old companions, this is solely abt companions in veilguard, all of this for nothing n then not even letting it be abt decisions throughout the game but a stupid choice at the end u can't avoid.

I need an essay on why media just doesn't hit anymore. I know movies/TV the past 2 years is bcs the strike n what lead up to it. but like games n books too. n idk if it's bcs im not a kid anymore but none of them just has a big impact on me anymore? I listening to my soundtrack Playlist n like games which soundtrack I still listen too r like games that had a big impact on me. like there's obviously dragon age n mass effect where I was so into it n like Fandom too. n other games I remember made an impact where it still.makes me feel nostalgic just listening to the soundtrack is dying light, mirrors edge, far cry 3, deus ex, metro last light, assassins creed 1-3, dreamfall chapters, skyrim n doom. cyberpunk a little bit as well just bcs of the setting but the story was a huge letdown. saints row n borderlands still hold a special place too but in a diff way. n like most of these games weren't groundbreaking but they hit a spot. even baldurs gate I played for like 2 years in early access has felt disappointing in its full release n despite my 300 hours I just can't finish act 3 bcs the story's end feels so disappointing 😭 I just wanna feel what I felt for dragon age n mass effect n the early assassins creed games for something else man. at this point I'm only playing indie early access survival games bcs any game w a story lately just falls flat
n like I feel the same w books? like my childhood favorites I've read countless times. all the books I have now I read once I'd I even finish them at all. like its all the same soulless quickly produced fill it w as many tropes as u can shit. think the last ya books I read n genuinely loved was a dance of thieves n cruel prince bcs they kept me engaged. most of the suggested books on booktok r so bad n all the same 😭
