‘do i miss you, daisy?’ lucius repeated in a mere whisper before shaking his head with a short lived laugh. ‘i do. of course i do. i miss you more than the ocean misses its wave.’

“You have a funny way of showing it. I never know what you’re thinking. I just have to assume the best, but I’ve been wrong before.”

“Well, I would say perfect. And you aren’t going to change that.” she teased, glad for her company. Daisy always had the ability to make her smile even in the worst of moods. “I wouldn’t mind tending to plants. As long as you are the one doing all the hard work.” she chuckled as she walked with her friend. 

“I wouldn’t dream of arguing with you. You’re entitled to your opinion.” Daisy had learned long ago that was the easiest route with Claire. As predicted, the greenhouses were empty. It was common for winter. Tucked away in a corner were some plants Daisy had been tending. They were a pet project of hers. “I expect nothing else. So tell me how things are going for you.”

lucius was a jerk, through and through.. at least he’d most certainly been at that age. now he was more aware, still felt that familiar guilt anytime he was around the sweet crimson haired girl but wasn’t sure how to apologise just yet. ‘thank you, daisy.’ he ducked his head in appreciation, fingers flying up to feel his now back to normal, although a bit swollen, lips.

She never thought he cared much for her opinion, nor did she know if she should believe him now. It was easier when she didn’t dwell on it. Daisy reached out to press her fingers lightly to his lips, a look of concern on her face. “I think they’re smaller than normal.” She could only hold the look for a moment longer before she broke out in a grin, giving up on teasing him. “Glad I could help.”

“I don’t but I wasn’t going to let your question remain unanswered after all.”

“I had two questions. I don’t know why you’d choose to answer the rhetorical one.”

“Thanks.” she laughed. “And your jelly-legs jinx isn’t just pretty good, it’s perfect.” She was glad Daisy wasn’t going to talk about her being at hospital, the events had made her feel weak and useless and all she wanted was to forget all of it. Not to have people look at her pitifully. She let her drag her down to the greenhouses. “Okay, but what are we going to be doing there?”

“I think Hufflepuff has a truly a great team” Honestly he didn’t care much he just acted like he did “But I have to support my house.”

“Thanks.” he grinned at the other. “Well, that sounds great! If only I could manage that someday.” he chuckled as he began walking with her towards the common room. “But that’s just an impossible task. I woke up by falling off the bed today.”

“You’re sweet but I have a good feeling, almost like I’ve run out of bad luck for the day.” he grinned as she began walking with him. “How are you doing today?”

‘i do value your opinion tremendously,’ he agreed, letting his lips fall into their natural position. their friendship still brought out his flirty charm because frankly, they didn’t get enough or any of that in their short lived relationship. ‘oh no, i trust you. you try, pomfrey will make a big deal out of it and keep me overnight.’

“Good to know. I’ll keep that in mind.” There was always a level of flirtation between them and Daisy was careful to keep it at just that. She thought they worked better as friends and wasn’t about to give him a second chance to hurt her. She took out her wand and pointed it at him. “Reducio.”

“So is it an appropriate time to stop talking about quidditch until the next match then?” The blonde asked with a smile “I will say Ravenclaw will surely win but really there are many much more interesting topics to talk about.”

“You mean Hufflepuff, right,” Daisy teased. “I think it’s always appropriate to change the topic. So, if you don’t want to talk about quidditch then what do you want to talk about?”
