‘oh well, i think. i scared a boy off by talking about the muggle wage gap the other day. as for making jamie jealous? uh, i’m looking for a date to the ball to really piss him off. it is day to day though, thanks lorc.’ lily always liked talking to lorcan, it was like taking a step away from reality and existing separate to it. plus he wasn’t a big fan of crowds and lily wasn’t always keen on being surrounded by groups of people. ‘yeah, it is, isn’t it? none of my private places remain private anymore. oh of course they’re all over your hair, look at it! bloody gorgeous. you should let me braid it sometime.’

it was stupid, she felt like a foolish little girl all over again. a childish crush coming right back but his lips were intoxicating.yet she wasn’t an idiot, she knew how wrong it was and yet she just kept kissing him, pulling herself in closer and draping her arms around his neck so their bodies stood flush against each other. lips only dared to move away when she had to catch a breath and even then they didn’t hover far from his, leaning back into their deep, long kisses and wanting so badly to just forget everything else in the world existed. because she was kissing the stupid blond boy that made her heart pitter patter. 

lily was probably still talking, too fast and dizzy and just... she was in a daze. she didn’t drink much, she was enough as she was sober but for once she wasn’t even insulting him. ‘i do no--’ she started once again to stick up for herself but instead found his lips on hers. scorpius malfoy’s lips on hers?! her eyes widened and it was an odd thing to kiss someone with her eyes open so they drooped shut slowly. but she pulled away from him in seconds too and squealed, moving backwards and stumbling as she did. ‘scorpius, what the hell?! you can’t--!’ she scolded but her heart was racing and she... loved kissing him too. she’d dreamed out it before, she couldn’t lie. a whimper left her throat as she moved back towards him, fists palling against his shirt and pulling herself in closer. ‘do it again. do it. kiss me again.’

‘i’m beginning to doubt your game even exists anymore.’ she smirked, raising her brow before having no answer to justify herself. ‘because... just because. no reason. i don’t even care for dates, but i have to make my brother angry. because he said i couldn’t have a date, so.’

‘okay but it’s a reality check, and you know i adore you.’ she said, bumping shoulders with him before considering it. ‘you think? i was thinking about the tall one. the really tall one, he’s so pretty. anyone in mind? even a rando, at that.’

‘damn. how do we get it fixed?’ lily smiled widely at him once he leaned down, her eyes twinkling with mischief. ‘not yet. i’m still looking for a hot date. or six hot dates.’

‘yes, hello ludo.’ she sat up a little straighter but wore a pout on her lips, ‘i have to because it’s what i do. and because he said he didn’t want me to have a date. uh, how do you not have one? is it because the only person you talk to is albus? c’mon, you must have a mate or something i could borrow.’

‘charm? is it broken? i don’t feel any more charmed.’ she teased, raising her brows and already feeling a knot in her neck from how much she had to tilt her head to talk to the boy. ‘we’re not talking about that one, it’s still a sore subject. i’m excited. any reason to dress up.’

‘help!’ she huffed as she seated herself beside the boy during lunch one day and slumped over the table, stealing food from his plate. ‘i’m looking for a hot date. many hot dates to take to the ball. i’ve got to piss off james.’

‘how will i know what i’m reading till i’m already reading it?’

‘it’s what i had intended, but then one of my brothers told me to not go with anyone. pretty much now allowed to have a date.. so i’m thinking of going with six people. not sure who. you could be part of the lily party.’

‘nice try, jamie. now i’ve definitely got to find someone.’

‘oh nothing. i mean... in my head it was like peyton vs. scorpius. since i knew rose fancied both of you. so i told her i picked peyton. i don’t know, scorpius. i don’t know if i picked right. but my picking had impacts and consequences’ lily rambled on, biting her bottom lip and tried to make up another lie over how the actual situation came to be and she took the bottle once scorpius was through. ‘why are you getting drunk alone up here, huh? what if i hadn’t come along and you just... fell right off or something? someone would miss you, i’m sure.’

‘you deserve someone who isn’t a git any of the time. i know. i shouldn’t have, i meant well. i hope you’ll see that soon. but i understand your anger and i am sorry, it won’t ever happen again.’

‘you know you saying that only wants me to take someone more, right? who would you absolutely hate?’
