The ride back from Valentine had been conducted in a silence so heavy it felt like a physical weight pressing against your chest. The sun was dipping low over the Grizzlies, painting the sky in bruised purples and angry orangesâcolors that matched Arthurâs mood perfectly.
You sat behind him on the horse, your arms wrapped around his thick waist, your cheek pressed against the rough leather of his jacket. Normally, youâd be humming a hymn or chatting his ear off about the price of eggs, but today, you kept her jaw locked tight. You could feel the tension in the muscles of his back, the way his frame remained rigid, refusing to lean into you.Â
You had pushed him. You knew she had. It had started at the general store when you spent far too much time batting your eyelashes at the clerk just to see Arthurâs jaw tighten. It had escalated when you walked off alone toward the saloon after heâd specifically told her to wait by the hitching post. And it had culminated in you laughing off his stern warning in front of the town sheriff, making him look like a man who couldn't keep his own woman in line.
The second the door to their small, secluded cabin clicked shut behind them, the air went stale and charged.Â
Arthur didnât even take off his hat. He just stood there, his back to her, his shoulders rising and falling with heavy, deliberate breaths. You stood in the center of the room, her fingers nervously toyed with the silver cross hanging around your neck â It was a habit, a silent prayer for strength, or perhaps for mercy.
âTake it off,â Arthur said, his voice a low, gravelly rumble that vibrated in your marrow.
You blinked, your eyes wide and flickering under the lamplight. âTake⌠take what off, Arthur?â
He turned then, and the look in his eyes made your knees go weak. They werenât the kind, weary eyes that usually looked at you with such tenderness. They were dark, hooded, and predatory. He looked like the outlaw the government was so scared of.
âThe attitude. The dress. All of it,â he growled, stepping into your space.Â
You instinctively took a step back, your boots scuffing against the floorboards. You felt the familiar prickle of defiance. You were a grown woman, independent and capable, even if you did have a soft spot for a man who smelled like tobacco and rain.Â
âI donât know whatâs got your dander up,â you huffed, tossing your curls over your shoulder. I was just havinâ a bit of fun. Youâre always so serious, Arthur Morgan. Itâs enough to make a girl go stir-crazy.â
Arthurâs hand moved faster than you could track. Before you could finish your sentence, his palm landed flat against the wall beside her head with a loud crack. You flinched, your back hitting the wood. He loomed over you, his shadow swallowing you whole.
âFun?â he repeated, the word sounding like a threat. âYou call makinâ a fool out of me in front of half the county âfunâ? You did the opposite of everythinâ I told you to. I told you to stay put, you ran off. I told you to keep your mouth shut, you chirped like a damn bluejay. You had your fun, doll? Out your system now?â
Your heart hammered against your ribs, the corset you wore beneath your floral dress feeling suddenly far too tight. You hated how your body betrayed you; you felt your cheeks go warm. You tried to look him in the eye, your gaze catching on the wrinkles under his eye, then drifting down to his mouth.
âI⌠I ainât got a clue what youâreââ
The fight drained out of your voice the second his hand moved from the wall to your throat. He didnât squeeze â Arthur would never hurt you â but the weight of his large, calloused palm resting there, his thumb grazing the underside of your jaw, was enough to steal your words.Â
ââPose Iâve been too nice to you,â he murmured, leaning down so his hot breath fanned over your ear. âIâve been soft. Let you think you run this show. Iâd oughta teach you a lesson on how a good girl conducts herself when sheâs out with her man.â
You shook your head, a small, desperate movement. âI ainât a girl to be handled, Arthur.â
âTonight, youâre exactly that,â he countered. His hand tightened just a fraction, earning a gasp from you that tracked dangerously close to a whimper. âStill not listeninâ. Still tryinâ to be the boss. You gonna say youâre sorry, or do I have to work it out of you?â
You bit your lip, your stubbornness warring with the heat pooling in your lower belly. You looked up at him, your eyes defiant. You didn't say a word.
Arthur let out a dark, dry chuckle that sent shivers down your spine. âFine. Weâll do it the hard way. Turn around.â
âArthurââ
âTurn. Around.âÂ
Reluctantly, you turned, your face pressed against the cool wood of the wall. You felt his presence behind you, massive and overwhelming.Â
He reached out, his fingers fumbling with the tiny buttons at the back of your dress. He was surprisingly patient for a man in a rage, unfastening each one with a terrifying deliberateness. As the fabric loosened, he pulled the dress down over your shoulders, exposing the white chemise and the tightly laced corset beneath.
You let out a shaky breath, trying to pull your stomach in. you were acutely aware of your body â the soft curve of your hips, the weight of your breasts, the way the corset squeezed your waist to try and hide the "chubbiness" you were so certain made you less attractive.Â
Arthurâs hands paused at your waist. He didn't pull the corset tighter; instead, he traced the line of your hip with his thumb, his touch unexpectedly reverent despite his anger.Â
âYou spend so much time tryinâ to hide yourself in these damn things,â he muttered, his voice dropping an octave. âTryinâ to be small. Tryinâ to be quiet. But today? Today you wanted to be seen. You wanted everyone lookinâ at you.â
He leaned in, his lips brushing the shell of your ear. âWell, you got my attention now, darlinâ. All of it.â
Suddenly, he gripped the back of your neck, forcing your head down slightly. âNow, youâre gonna tell me you were a brat. Say it.â
Your hands gripped the wall, your knuckles turning white. âI⌠I was justââ
âSay it,â he growled, his hand shifting from your neck to the small of your back, pressing your pelvis firmly against the wall.Â
âI was a brat,â you whispered, her voice cracking.Â
âLouder. And tell me what a brat deserves.â
You closed your eyes, the scent of himâleather, woodsmoke, and *man*âfilling your senses. The religious girl in you screamed that this was a sin, that you should be praying for forgiveness. But the woman in you, the one who loved this rough, broken man more than life itself, was screaming for something else entirely.
âI was a brat, Arthur,â you said, your voice stronger now, laced with a desperate kind of honesty. âAnd I⌠I suppose I deserve a spankinâ.â
You heard the sound of a belt buckle clinkingâthe most terrifying and exhilarating sound you ever heard.
âGood girl,â Arthur purred, the praise hitting you like a physical blow. âSee? You can be obedient when you try. Now, hold onto that wall, doll. Don't you move an inch until I tell you Iâm done with you. Youâre gonna learn exactly who you belong to.â
You gripped the wood, your heart hammering a frantic rhythm against your ribs, the cross necklace dangling between your breasts as you waited for the first taste of your penance.
The leather belt didnât come down immediately. Instead, Arthur used it to lift the hem of your skirts, bunching the heavy fabric up around your waist until your drawers and the tops of your stockings were exposed. Your breath hitched, your fingers digging into the rough-hewn logs of the cabin wall. You felt the cool air of the room hit your skin, followed closely by the radiating heat of Arthurâs body.
âLook at you,â Arthur murmured, his voice thick with a dark sort of satisfaction. âCovered in all this lace and bone, tryinâ to hide what God gave you. You think I don't see you? You think I don't know why youâre actinâ out?â
He reached around you, his large hand splaying flat over your stomach, feeling the way you tried to suck it in against the constraints of your corset. He clicked his tongue disparagingly.
âStop that. I told you before, I like a woman with some meat on her bones. Makes you soft where a man needs it. But today, you werenât actinâ like a woman. You were actinâ like a child seekinâ attention. So, Iâm gonna give you exactly what youâre lookinâ for.â
The first strike of his open palm wasnât a blow; it was a heavy, stinging slap across the meat of your ass.Â
You let out a sharp yelp, your back arching instinctively. The sting was immediate, a blooming heat that radiated across your skin. It wasn't the pain that shocked you as much as the sheer authority behind it.Â
âThatâs for the general store,â Arthur counted, his voice calm, almost conversational.
Whack.
âThatâs for the clerk.â
Whack
âAnd thatâs for walkinâ away when I told you to stay.â
Your eyes watered, your nose pressing against the wood. You could smell the pine sap and the faint scent of old dust. âArthur, please,â you whimpered, your pride finally beginning to crumble.
âPlease what, baby? Please stop? Or please keep goinâ until you remember who youâre supposed to be listeninâ to?â He didn't wait for an answer. He rained down a steady rhythm of slaps, his hand heavy and unerring. He wasn't being cruelâthere was a precision to it, a controlled discipline that made you feel entirely handled.Â
You began to sob softly, your cheeks flushed a deep crimson, tears wetting the wood. Every time your body tried to recoil, his other hand, still resting firm on the back of your neck, kept you pinned.Â
âYouâre gettinâ so red for me, darlinâ,â he praised, the words dripping with a condescending sweetness that made your heart race. âSuch a pretty, colorful mess youâre makinâ. Look at you, shakinâ like a leaf. Are you startinâ to feel sorry yet?â
âYes,â you choked out, your voice muffled. âIâm sorry, Arthur. Iâm so sorry.â
âI donât believe you yet,â he whispered. He stepped back for a moment, and the sudden absence of his heat made you feel cold and abandoned. Then she heard the leather of his belt fold over in his hand. âYouâve been a real trial today, darlinâ. A real test of my patience. And you know what the Bible says about those who spare the rod.â
Your eyes went wide. You looked over your shoulder, your eyes shimmering with a mix of fear and desperate wanting. The silver cross swung wildly from your neck, hitting your collarbone. âArthur, please⌠Iâll be good. Iâll be a good girl.â
âYouâll be a good girl after Iâve finished taminâ the brat out of you,â he corrected.Â
He didnât use the belt with the full force heâd use in a fight, but the leather had a bite that his palm lacked. The first crack against your thighs made your knees buckle. You would have fallen if he hadn't caught you by the waist, hauling you back up and over his thigh as he sat down on the heavy wooden bench by the table.
Now you were draped across him, your skirts tossed over your head, leaving you exposed and vulnerable in the center of their home. The indignity of it was overwhelming. She felt like a sinner at the altar, stripped of your pretenses.
âCount âem,â Arthur commanded, the belt hovering. âEvery time you feel the leather, you tell me why youâre gettinâ it. If you lose track, we start over.â
Crack.
You gasped, your fingers scrabbling for purchase on his denim-clad leg. âOne⌠for⌠for beinâ disrespectful.â
Crack.
âTwo⌠for runninâ off.â your voice was high and thinned by tears.Â
âGood girl,â Arthur murmured, his hand stroking the small of your back in a brief, confusing moment of tenderness before the belt fell again. âSee? Youâre findinâ your manners. Itâs a shame we had to go through all this just to get you to find your tongue.â
He continued until you reached ten, your voice a broken whisper of confessions. By the time he tossed the belt onto the table, you were a sobbing, trembling wreck. He pulled you up, tucking your head under his chin and wrapping his massive arms around you. He let you cry into his shirt, his fingers gently untangling the curls that had become a knotted mess during your struggle.
âThere now,â he cooed, his voice returning to that low, rumbling barrette that usually soothed you to sleep. âThe worst is over. Youâve been a brave little thing, havenât you? Took your lickinâ like a lady.â
You clung to him, your fingers clutching the fabric of his waistcoat. The adrenaline was fading, leaving behind a heavy, pulsing ache in your lower body that was rapidly turning into something much more demanding.
Arthur pulled back just enough to look at you. He reached up, his thumb wiping a tear from the mole under your right eye. His expression softened, the darkness in his eyes shifting from anger to a smoldering, possessive heat.
âYou learned your lesson?â he asked, his voice a low growl.
You nodded frantically, your cheeks still damp. âYes, Arthur.â
âAnd who do you belong to?â
âYou,â you whispered, your heart thudding against your ribs. âI belong to you.â
Arthurâs gaze dropped to your mouth, then down to the lace of your chemise, where your breath was coming in quick, shallow pants. âWell then. Since youâre beinâ so obedient now⌠I reckon itâs time I rewarded you for finally listeninâ.â
He stood up, effortlessly lifting you into his arms. You let out a small squeak of surprise, wrapping your legs around his waist. As he carried you toward the bedroom, you felt the sting of your raw skin against his rough clothes, a delicious reminder of the price you paidâand the pleasure that was about to follow.
âIâm gonna see every inch of you tonight, sweet thing,â Arthur promised, his voice dark and promising. âNo corsets. No hidinâ. Just you and me. And youâre gonna be the best girl Iâve ever had. Understand?â
âYes, Arthur,â you breathed, burying your face in his neck as he kicked the bedroom door shut. âAnything you want.â
summary: at the mayors house, dutch sends arthur to scope out the party for any leads for the gang. however, he found himself hypnotized by you. the deputy mayorâs daughter.
âGo find the mayor if you can, and stay out of trouble. And steal nothing⌠unless itâs information.â Said Dutch to Arthur. He then turned to Hosea and Bill, sending them off as well. Arthur did as he was told, spoke to some folk and gathered information. Then, he saw you. Arthur found himself completely focused on you. You were kind enough to start the conversation, speaking to him as if you knew the man. Everything about you was different than any other person in this damn party. You were so delicate and sweet, your voice almost hypnotized him.
âI am sorry, sir. Did I ware you out with my conversation?â You said, making Arthur snap out of his staring. He lightly coughed, hiding his embarrassment. âNo, not at all. Youâre fine, miss.â He averted his eyes towards the ground, cursing himself for becoming so distracted. Why was he so affected by this one woman? He was supposed to find the mayor, and yet he here was⌠unable to pull away from you. Your eyes were fascinating, your lips red like wine and your hair soft as silk.
âWell, you look distracted mister.â You spoke, letting out a small giggle. You felt awkward, feeling as you were forcing him to speak to you. âIs there someone else youâd prefer being with right now, mister? Am I keeping you?â You asked, your voice soft and calm. You had a small smile on your face, with every move you made Arthur found himself completely under your spell. You were so polite, and you had such a gentle aura to you that fascinated him. âNo. Not at all, miss.â Arthur shook his head, letting out a breathy laugh. âAlright then.â You spoke, as you and Arthur continued to walk around the mayors house.
You looked up at various paintings, and plants that surrounded the house. âHave you ever been to the mayorâs house before?â You asked, turning your head slightly to glance at him. âNo, this is my first time here.â Arthurâs eyes would often roam back to you as he answered your questions. âWhat about you, miss? You come here often?â He asked, turning to look at the paintings as if he is interested in them.
âWell⌠I cannot say that I come here often. You see, my father does. He and the mayor are quite close.â You informed, to which Arthurâs ears perked up. He began to think about who you are. Daughter of a wealthy man. After all, he was sent here to get some information. You sipped on your champagne as you continued to walk. âIâve been invited to the mayorâs parties before, but only for the reason that my father is the deputy mayor.â He found himself nodding along as you explained the relationship between your father and the Mayor.
âWhat is your name, mister?â
He snapped out of his thoughts as soon as you asked for his name. âArthur. Arthur Morgan.â He said without thinking that he should have used his aliasâ Tacitus Kilgore. You smiled at him, holding out your hand. âWell, it is a pleasure to meet your Mr. Morgan.â You spoke, before introducing yourself to him. Arthur returned the smile and clasped your hand into his, raising it up so your knuckles were level with his lips before planting lightly kissing on them. âItâs a pleasure to meet you too, miss.â He said.
âI must admit⌠you are a good company.â You said as you both walked outside, Arthur took one last glance around the party and settled his gaze back on you, his eyes almost locking onto you. He chuckled and nodded in agreement.âYeah, I canât say I get along that well with these types either. But you, on the other handâŚâ Arthur glanced at the others once again, as you both walked around the garden. âYou ainât like them.â
Your eyes softened at his words, giving him your gorgeous smile before thanking him. âThank you, Mr. Morgan.â You said, grabbing another glass of champagne. He couldnât help but admire you from where he stood. Everything about you was just perfect. âArthur! There you are!â Arthur let out a gruff sigh as his name was called. âAh, Dutch.â He said, turning around as the man approached. Dutch had a large grin plastered on his face as he finally reached the two of you. âAh, there you are, son!â He heartily slapped Arthurâs back before redirecting his smile towards you. âAnd who is this beauty standing in front of me?â
You let out a giggle, holding out your hand as you introduced yourself. âIsnât that a beautiful name?â Dutch practically coed, taking your hand into his own and planting a quick kiss on your knuckles. âWell, I suppose I should leave you gentlemen alone.â You smiled, at them. You locked eyes with Arthur, nodding at him. âThank you for your company, Mr. Morgan. We shall cross paths again, soon.â
âŚâ§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§
It was a normal morning in Saint Denis, despite the unbearable heat. The gangs funds were low, and Dutch was putting more and more pressure on Arthur to go robbing. As Arthur wandered through the park, he couldn't help but notice a familiar face. You. He noticed you breaking off from the group of women who were probably gossiping about yet another townsfolk. He then realized that you are making your way over him. âWhy, hello there Mr. Morgan.â You smiled, fanning yourself from the heat. Arthur smiled, tipping his hat. âGood to see you, miss.â You quick eyed him up and down, noticing that his attire was completely different from when you last saw him. He almost looked like a cowboy.
âWould you care to walk with me?â You smiled, looking up at him. Arthur fell under your spell again, he could not understand what about you was so endearing that he couldnât look away. You were incredibly attractive, no one could deny that. But, something about you, other than your beauty, seemed to charm him. âSure, why not.â Arthur said, holding out his arm out to you. You wrapped your arm around his, as you both began to walk away from the park. âWell Mr. Morgan, I have been meaning to ask youâŚ. what do you do for living?â You asked, slightly turning your head to look at him.
âWhat do I do?â He echoed, before sighing. He couldnât exactly tell you about the gang, so heâd have to come up with a more indistinct answer. âWell, I do all sorts of things.â He said, trying to speak honestly and truthfully. âRanching, odd jobs here and there, bounties sometimesâŚâ
âOh, youâre a bounty hunter! That explains your attire then.â You spoke, giving him your hypnotizing smile. Arthur chuckled, awkwardly nodding his head. His eyes fixed on you instead of on his usual surroundings. He was completely entranced with you. âWhat about you, miss?â Spoke Arthur, as curiosity began to wash over him. âWhat do you do aside from gossiping with all those ladies youâre always with?â You sighed, looking at the street ahead of you as you both walked. You had an indecipherable expression on your face, which left Arthur feeling slightly puzzled. âUnfortunately Mr. Morgan⌠I do not do much.â You admitted, finally turning your head to glance at him. âI spend most of my time being home, or outside in the park. I either read, or help the kids in the neighborhood with reading.â
Arthur locked eyes with you, before clearing his throat and looking at the bar you passed by. âIs that what you want though?â He asked, his tone calm and serious. âYou donât strike me as the kind of girl who wants to sit home all day, and spend time with the ladies who you donât even seem interested in.â
âCan I be honest with you, sir?â Your voice softened as you spoke. âI would want to be a writer.â Arthur raised his eyebrows, more intrigued with you now. âA writer, is that right?â He said, his voice quiet as he listened to you being honest. âThatâs a respectable job. Better than gossiping with those ladies, Iâm sure.â
âYes, thatâs right.â You let out a giggle, which he chuckled at. Your smile was so captivating, Arthur couldnât help but stare. âUnfortunately⌠those are just dreams Mr. Morgan. My father is a well respected man, he could not possibly have his only daughter working.â
âThatâs bullshit.â He said gruffly, making you raise your eyebrow. Arthur breathed out an apology, realizing his tone. âYou shouldnât have to do something you donât want to just to please your father.â He spoke in a calm tone, his words sincere. You couldnât help but think about what he said, no one has ever told you that before. Your father was the only family youâve ever known, with your mother passing too early.
âMy father has granted me with a good life, Mr. Morgan. Not many people have that, and Iâm grateful to have him with me.â You began to speak, as you both reached a big mansion. You stoped walking, and turned to Arthur. âNonetheless⌠I cannot help but wish to escape. Even itâs for a short amount of time.â It was rather amusing to him. Here you were, a rich woman that could have anything she wanted, yet you longed for something more. Arthur thought about what you said, you really were different than others he met in Saint Denis. He even began to question if youâre real, and not a figment of his imagination. Before Arthur could say anything about your question you interrupted him.
âThis is my home.â Arthur looked up at the mansion you gestured at, time really did fly by when he was with you. âItâs quite nice.â He chuckled, as you let go of his arm. You smiled up at him again, batting your eyelashes at him. Arthur began to understand just how attached he was getting to you, and you were making an impact on him. This wasnât good. âI hope we see each other soon, Mr. Morgan.â You let out a chuckle, as began to walk away. âYou sure will.â He muttered, his eyes never leaving you as you waved goodbye.
He really, really hoped heâd see you again soon as well to quench the thirst that was growing in him. As he watched you walk towards your house, he found himself already longing for the next moment heâd see you.
Arthur Morgan was damned.
âŚâ§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§
It was late at night, and you were already in bed with a book in your hands. Your back was against the headboard, and your legs were tangled in the sheets. The air was clear, and quiet save for the occasional sound of the crickets outside. You let out a sigh, turning the page and continuing to read. Suddenly, a rock hit your window causing you to flinch.
âDamn kidsâŚâ You muttered, putting your book aside and getting up to make your way to the window. Opening the window, you leaned down to look at the neighborhood kids.
âHey! Stop youâ Mr. Morgan?!â
Arthur chuckled, tipping his hat at you. before taking it off and holding it close to his chest. âHi.â He said, his voice quiet. He was glad you had heard the rock he had thrown, and not your father. He knew that if your father had caught him here, heâd be leaving with a bullet in his skull. âOh Gosh.â You gasped, walking away from the window. Arthur could hear shuffling on your end. What was happening? He was beginning to grow worried that heâd made a mistake by coming here. âYou alright?â Arthur asked, concerned by your reaction.
Your head peeked through the window, now wrapped in a blanket. âYes.â You spoke, looking down at him. Arthur let out a breath he didnât know he was holding. âGood. You had me worried for a minute there. Is your father awake?â He asked, looking around to check for any lights on in the house.
You raised an eyebrow, not expecting that question. âNo, he is usually asleep at this hour.â You spoke, wrapping your hands around the blanket that covered your body.
âMister, If you donât mind me asking⌠exactly what are you doing here?â
Arthur ran a hand through his hair, not really knowing how to articulate his thoughts. Did he just sound crazy for showing up at your window at night? âI justâŚâ He began, the words getting tangled in his mouth. âDidnât you tell me you wanted to leave sometimes?â Arthur muttered, looking down at his hat. You looked puzzled, not expecting him to utter those words out. Arthur looked back up at you, waiting for you to say something. Instead, you stood there with the same bewildered expression on your face. âWell⌠you seemed quite annoyed at your life last week, and I, uhâŚâ He paused, trying to find the right words. âFigured getting ya outta your house for a while would help.â
You looked back at your room, considering his offer. A man who you barely knew, asking you to get out of your house. Would it be foolish to trust him?
âAlright⌠just give me a moment.â You sighed, meeting eyes with Arthur before disappearing from his view. Arthur nodded, a smile tugging at his lips. He couldnât believe that you were about to come outside. He put his hat back on, as he waited for you to climb out your window and meet him. After a short while, you came back dressed in one of your casual dresses. You didnât bother putting your hair up, but Arthur couldnât look away. âAlright, youâre gonna get out the window and drop down. Iâll catch you, donât worry.â He instructed.
âI canât believe Iâm doing this.â You let out a groan, shaking your head. "It'll be alright." Arthur reassured you, watching as you began stepping out of the window. He stood underneath the window, ready to catch you if the need be.
You dropped into his arms, landing against his chest. Arthur felt his heart skip a beat as he could finally feel you in his arms. âYou alright?â He asked, looking at you as he still held on to you. âYes.â You nodded your head, getting off him. â⌠Thank you.â You spoke, dusting your dress off as you avoided his eyes.
Arthur cleared his throat, gesturing you to follow him. You complied, walking behind him. There was a grey horse hitched nearby, you assumed that it was Arthurâs. He untied his horse, quickly getting onto the saddle of the great black creature. âSir, can I ask where you are taking me?â You asked, looking up at Arthur. âItâs a surprise.â He said, while offering you a hand to help pull you onto the back of the horse with him. Arthur couldnât help but grin as he felt your arms encircle his waist. âHold on tight.â He spoke, as the horse began trotting off.
âI sure hope no one sees me⌠us.â You mumbled, looking around the dark streets of Saint Denis.
âDonât worryâ ainât nobody gonna see us.â Arthur reassured you as his horse continued through the dark streets. He was being extra careful, taking routes that were free of people. He did not want anyone to catch him sneaking the daughter of an important man out of the house. Arthur noticed you looking around, noticing how scared you were of getting caught. He heard you clear your throat, as you began to talk.
âIt wouldnât be appropriate for people to know that the daughter of the deputy mayor is running off late at night, with a man.â
He let out a chuckle, glancing back at you to give you a reassuring look. âDonât worry that pretty lilâ head of yours. No oneâs gonna see us, I promise.â Arthur locked eyes with you, before turning back to look at the road. Arthur heard you let out a sigh, feeling your hands tightening his waist. âMr. Morgan, this isnât even appropriate for me to do this. I want you to know that I do not commit such acts.â Your voice was soft, and gentle. Arthur let out a deep chuckle, nodding his head.
âI know, I know.â He spoke, amused at how polite you were. Arthur found your shyness endearing. And he enjoyed knowing that heâd be the one to take you on this little adventure, and not just any run-of-the-mill man. âI know that youâre a well-behaved young lady, and youâre not supposed to be out here with the likes of me.â Arthur muttered, reaching his satchel to grab some carrots for his horse.
The rest of the ride was quiet and peaceful. Arthur couldnât get enough of the fact that you were clinging onto him from behind, and he was trying his hardest to pay extra attention to the road. He was afraid that heâd start letting his head run away with him. After riding for a while, the horse began to slow down upon reaching a stop. âAlright, miss, weâre here.â Arthur informed, as he hopped off the saddle.
He held his arms out to you, waiting to help you get off the saddle. You looked around you, trying to figure out where exactly âhereâ was. You seemed to be surrounded by trees, a dense forest that seemed to go on for miles and miles, leaving no sign of civilization. The night was dark, but the moon shone bright. It was a nice view, and you were mesmerized by it.
You placed your hands on Arthurâs shoulders, as he wrapped his around your waist to help you get off his horse. You thanked him, as your feet touched the ground. âNo problem, miss.â He said, as he took your hand into his, starting to lead you towards somewhere else. Arthur couldnât help but feel his heart flutter at the feeling of your hand in his. He felt like he never wanted to let go. âBe warned,â He said, looking back at you. âItâs a little bit of a walk to get where weâre going.â
âAlright, just donât walk too fast.â You spoke with a smile on your face. Arthur let out a soft chuckle at your comment, shanking his head. âDonât worry, miss.â The sound of the trees swaying in the wind, and the crickets chirping all around you â it was the perfect night. Arthur stopped walking, at a certain point.
âOver here.â He spoke, leading you towards a clearing. The clearing revealed a beautiful lake, glistening under the shine of the moon and stars. âBeautiful ainât it?â Arthur asked, looking over at you to see your reaction. He watched you as you looked around the area, admiring the glimmering reflection of the lake with your wide eyes and parted lips.
You smiled, walking around the shore. âYes, it certainly is.â He watched you, admiring the way your eyes lit up as you looked at everything. He watched you as you walked around, crouching down as you studied a few pretty wildflowers. Your excitement was adorable. The peaceful night was interrupted by the sound of his stomach grumbling. Arthur suddenly remembered just how hungry heâd been.
âYou hungry, by any chance?â He asked, sitting down on the soft grass. Arthur looked back at you, as he heard no answer. He noticed you picking a couple of flowers, to which he shook his head. âMiss?â He chuckled, as you turned to face him. âI asked if youâre hungry.â He said, taking off his hat. âI havenât eaten since this morninâ, and Iâm starved.â
âWell, I ate this afternoon.â He looked at you as you picked up a leaf, using it to wrap the flowers together. Sort of like a small, beautiful bouquet. âAre you planning on fishing?â You asked, holding the bouquet close to yourself as you sat down on a rock. Arthur set up his fishing rod, grabbing a worm to use as bait. âMaybe. Depends on if the fish are biting or not.â
Itâd been a while since heâd company this good. He couldnât help the stupid smile that had now settled on his face as he baited the hook on his rod. You watched him carefully, trying to analyze how fishing works. âFrom what Iâm seeing, Mr. Morgan, fishing needs patience.â
Arthur chuckled, hearing your statement. âSometimes.â He replied, focusing on his line and getting it ready. âBut it ainât always like that. Sometimes the fish just bites right on, sometimes it takes a while.â
âIâve heard that itâs good to fish while itâs raining, since the fish would mistake the rain droplets for insects.â You broke the silence one more, placing your face on your hands as you watched the lake. âIs that true?â You asked, looking at the back of his head.
He turned around, looking at you with a raised eyebrow. âHow do you know that?â He asked, surprised to hear that you knew that bit of information. As far as he knew, you were just a well-mannered, rich girl who loved to read. You were so dainty and proper⌠but here you were, saying things he didnât expect you to say. âAm I right?â You smiled, getting excited. Arthur couldnât help but let out a soft laugh.
âYeah, youâre right.â He said, nodding his head as he turned back to face the lake. He was amused by the fact that you seemed to know so much. Normally he would have just assumed you to be like every other rich missus â but there was obviously more to you than that.
Arthur caught one, railing it in. He stuffed the fish in his satchel, earning a chuckle from you. âOne more?â He turned back to look at you, holding up the fish he just caught. âYep.â He chuckled to himself. âOne more.â He turned back around, getting ready to cast his rod in the water again. He was starting to enjoy the fact that you were so curious.
You stood up from the rock, placing the bouquet on it. You slowly made your way towards him, standing next to him as you watched the lake for a couple of seconds. âCould I try?â Arthur stopped what he was doing, looking at you with a surprised expression. âYou wanna try fishing?â He repeated, making sure he heard you correctly.
You turned to look at him, nodding your head. âCould you teach me?â Arthurâs expression softened, his shock replaced with a little bit of enthusiasm. He was amused by your eagerness to learn what most would probably consider an uncivilized activity.
âYou really wanna learn how to fish, huh?â He asked, his hands fidgeting with the fishing rod a bit. âWhy give me that look, Mister? You donât believe a young prestigious woman like me canât learn how to fish?â You teased, with a small smile on your face.
âItâs not that I donât believe itâŚâ He said, turning to face you, âBut itâs not a hobby a girl like you would usually partake in. Itâs rough, and dirty. Itâs not something a well-behaved lady like yourself would usually enjoy.â He continued, his eyes staring at yours.
âAre you going to teach me, or not mister?â
You asked, with a slightly irritated tone. Placing your hands on your hips, you glanced at the lake once more. Arthur shook his head, letting out a sigh. âAlright.â He said, gesturing for you to come closer. âCome here.â You came to stand right next to him, looking at the rod he was holding. âPlace your hand here.â He instructed, putting his hand on top of yours, guiding you as to how to properly hold the rod.
Arthur watched you intently, satisfied with the fact that you were doing what he said â and the fact that you were a fast learner. âOh! I think itâs biting!â Sure enough, the line went taut, signalling the fish at the other end. He let out a little laugh, nodding his head. âYeah, itâs definitely biting.â He said, âNow, reel it in.â He kept on watching you, his hand over yours to make sure you were doing it right, though you didnât seem to need much help. âThere ya go, just like that.â He encouraged. Soon enough, the fish was reeled in. Arthur took it, stuffing it in his satchel.
âThank you, Mr. Morgan.â You smiled, locking eyes with him yet again. He stared at you with an expression that was filled with admiration, the corners of his lips turning up into a little smile that was soft and subtle. âYouâre welcome, miss. You did real good.â
Arthur set up the fire to cook the fish for the both of you. He couldnât help but enjoy the easy chatter you two were having. It was simple conversation, but he found himself enjoying each and every second of it. He happened to find you absolutely endearing. The way you talked, and the way you would look at him⌠everything about you was slowly starting to drive him mad. After both of you were done eating, the comfortable silence was back. You looked up at the sky, admiring the starts as he lit up a cigarette. Arthur couldnât keep his gaze off you for long, no matter how much he tried to look away. His eyes were always drawn back to you, admiring you while you were simply doing the simplest of activities.
âWould you mind sharing?â You asked, looking at him. Arthur raised his eyebrow as he heard your question, before letting out a chuckle. âYouâre asking me if you can smoke my cigarette?â He asked, surprised at the simple request.
âYou think a high class woman like me canât smoke?â You spoke with the same irritated tone, shaking your head. You pursed your lips, slightly disappointed. âI understand, the public image that women who smoke cigarettes is unconventional and sexually suggestive.â You mumbled, looking back up at the sky. âOf course, women can smoke. Iâm not saying they canâtâŚâ He said, looking at you. He exhaled, a cloud of smoke coming out between his lips.
Arthur brought up the cigarette to his lips, taking another puff before continuing to speak. âIâm just saying Iâm surprised at you wanting to smoke. I didnât expect you to smoke, since a pretty Miss like yourself doesnât seem to be the type to be indulging in a habit as âuncouthâ as this.â He explained, holding the cigarette up, and taking another puff.
After hearing his declaration you scoffed, turning your head to meet his gaze. âMy⌠my appearance does not interpret my habits or actions. I am aware, as some individuals see cigarette smoking as a statement that represents the independent-minded âNew Womanâ of the 1890s.â
That same irritated tone.
Arthur let out another deep breath, puffing out another cloud of smoke. âI was just teasing you, miss.â He replied, taking another puff. âHere.â He handed his cigarette to you. You brought it up to your lips, and inhaled.
âI apologize, mister. And thank you.â He was entertained by the sight of you smoking his cigarette, somehow fascinated by the way your lips wrapped around the paper. âYouâre welcome.â He said, watching you as you exhaled the smoke. âAnd thereâs no need to apologize. I should be the one apologizing for teasing you like that.â
You handed the cigarette back to him, before taking a long drag. âNo. No, thatâs alright.â You shook your head, smiling. âI am just not accustomed to people, mostly men, to treat me like you do, Mr. Morgan.â
His expression softened, looking at you as he took the cigarette back from you. He was intrigued by your statement, and was curious to know more. âHow so?â He questioned, his eyebrows furrowed slightly as he placed the cigarette back to his lips, inhaling the soothing smoke. You let out a sigh, looking at the still lake.
âWell Mister, you listen to me when I speak and engage in the conversation. You do not make me feel⌠like some unintelligent fool.â Arthur nodded along, listening intently to your words as you spoke. He was used to being the one listening, and not a lot of people ever reciprocated what you were doing. âIâm surprised that you say that.â He replied, breathing out another cloud of smoke. âYouâre no idiot, miss.â
âThank you, Mr. Morgan. Your words mean a lot more than you might think.â You smiled, locking eyes with Arthur. âBut me smoking stays between us, alright?â You whispered, letting out a giggle.
The sound of your soft giggling was like music to his ears. He smiled at you as you spoke, letting out a small chuckle after hearing your last sentence. He nodded, letting out a cloud of smoke. âOf course, miss.â He said softly. âYour little habitâs safe with me.â Arthur got up, throwing his cigarette on the ground and extinguishing it with his boot. âWe best get goinâ while we still can.â He informed, looking up at the faint color of blue in the sky. âThe sunâs gonna rise in a few hours, letâs get you home before your father wakes up.â He got up, offering his hand to help you back up.
You took his hand, getting up and grabbing your handmade bouquet. âI apologize for taking so much of your time, is there anyone waiting for you at home? Your mates or perhaps your missus?â Arthur let out a light scoff. He was surprised that youâd assume that he had someone waiting for him at home. âNo need to apologize, miss.â he said, shaking his head. âYou didnât take away any of my time.â He suddenly became a little bit awkward, looking away from you as he spoke. âAnd to answer your question, no. I ainât got nobody waiting for me at home.â
âOh.â You realized how awkward you just made the situation, slapping yourself mentally. You grabbed one of the flowers from your handmade bouquet, handing it to him. You didnât utter a word, afraid to overwhelm him. He was taken by surprise as you suddenly handed him one of the flowers from your little bouquet, an odd but soft feeling growing in his heart.
Arthur looked at the flower in his hand, before looking up at you with a stunned, unreadable expression on his face. His heart pounded in his chest as he looked at you. With a small, gruff voice, he spoke up. âYou⌠you want me to take this?â
âYes, I do.â You spoke, avoiding his gaze. He held the small flower in his hand. He was in awe of your simple gesture, and his heart did a few jumps in his chest. He tried his best to push the feeling down, nodding.
âCome on, letâs get going.â
âŚâ§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§
It was another warm day in Saint Denis. Arthur was in town, just grabbing some things for himself. Ammo, food, and etc. He suddenly came to a pause as he heard your voice, recognizing it immediately. He turned his head towards the sound of your voice. He saw you sitting on a bench, surrounded by a small group of children who were listening intently to your words.
âNo James, thatâs not quite right.â You smiled, shaking your head. You leaned over, placing your hand on the book. âIt is pronounced garden, not gardeen.â Arthur walked over to the group, quietly standing at a distance to watch you work. Some of the kids looked over to him, noticing the man who was now standing at a distance, watching all of you. One of the kids tugged at your dress from behind, pointing at him. âMiss! Miss! Look!â The child shouted, his attention captured by the strange-looking man.
âMhm?â You asked, confused. Turning your head to the side, you noticed Mr. Morgan standing right there with a small smile on his face. You shook your head, letting out a chuckle. âItâs alright, heâs my friend.â The kids let out a collective âOoooohâ as you said that, giggling amongst themselves as they looked between you and the man. Arthur awkwardly waved at the small group of kids, feeling a little weird as he saw their amused faces look up at him.
âOh, shush you little troublemakers.â You smiled, before getting up and walking towards Arthur. The kids continued to chat, now amused by the interaction they were witnessing between the both of you. âAfternoon, miss.â He greeted you, tipping his hat with a small smile.
âAfternoon, Mr. Morgan.â You smiled, placing your hands behind your back. You heard giggles behind you, as you turned to glance at the kids. Arthur followed your gaze, also noticing the kids peeking at the two of you. He chuckled lightly, shaking his head with an amused look on his face. The kids quickly ducked whenever he looked at them, some of them giggling to each other. Arthur turned his gaze back on you, letting out another small scoff. âIt seems youâve got an audience.â He said, the corners of his lips curling up into a small smile.
You let out a laugh, looking back at the kids again. âIâm just teaching these children how to read. Itâs really important to know how to read nowadays, soon nearly everyone will.â He chuckled lightly, watching you speak so passionately about teaching the youngsters to read. Arthur glanced at the kids again, noticing that they were all staring up at you. He raised an eyebrow, finding it amusing how enthralled they were with you.
âAnyhow, what are you doing in the city Mister?â You questioned, gesturing for the both of you to walk away from the children.
âJust doing some shopping.â He said, stuffing his hands in his pockets. âPicking up ammo, the usual.â He started to walk in sync with you, looking behind him to check if the kids were still staring at the two of you. Looking back you gestured the kids to continue reading, letting them know you will be back soon.
âSo, how is the bounty hunting going?â You asked, as you continued to walk down the street. Arthur felt a pang of guilt hit him. He knew that you didnât know anything about him apart from the fact that heâs a bounty hunter. And he wasnât sure if he could keep lying.
âItâs⌠fine.â He lied. âSame as ever. No big surprises.â
âI canât help but wonder⌠is it a difficult job?â You questioned, looking around to see if you knew anyone that walked by. He let out a heavy sigh as you spoke, a feeling of regret growing in him from not telling the truth. âSometimes itâs difficult.â He said, his gaze focused on the ground in front of him. âThereâs always a risk of beingâŚâ Arthur trailed off, debating whether or not to say âkilled.â
â⌠Killed.â You glanced at him, finishing his sentence. âBe honest with me, Sir. You know how I feel about those things.â You began to walk to a more secluded street, where you knew nobody would recognize you or Arthur. He cursed under his breath, before looking up at the sky, letting out an exasperated sigh. âYeah.â He said, nodding his head slowly. âItâs a dangerous job, there are a lot of things that can go wrong. Thereâs always a risk of death.â He said. The guilt from lying was slowly crushing him, but he kept going. You nodded, listening to his words intently as you both crossed the street. âWell, Iâm sure you are a strong man. However, I cannot help but⌠think about you sometimes, sir.â
â⌠About your job I mean.â You corrected yourself as you glanced at him, your heart skipping a beat. âI sincerely hope that your life wonât get taken away in a gruesome way.â The guilt he was feeling was now replaced with a pleasant feeling. Arthur looked over at you, seeing the slight hint of worry on your face, and he couldnât help but feel slightly happy.
But the feeling soon faded away and was replaced with even more guilt as he remembered that he was lying to you about his job and who he truly was. âAh, donât ya worry, miss.â He said, trying to keep his usual, monotone act. âI ainât ever let a job kill me yet.â
You smiled, pleased with his answer. âI would love for you to keep it that way, Mr. Morgan. Otherwise, who would take me out at night?â
A soft, bashful smile made its way to Arthurâs face. He could feel his cheeks slightly burning as he struggled to keep his composure, trying to keep the act up. He managed to let out a chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck as he felt his heart pound in his chest. âIâd be a right fool to let something happen to me, then.â He replied, softly.
âŚâ§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§
Days turned into weeks, as you and Arthur grew closer. He would stop by your window every now and then, throwing the same damn rock on your window. He showed you the parts of Lemoyne that youâve never been to. Arthur would set up a fire for the both of you, and both of you would eat anything he managed to hunt.
Arthur sat with you by his side, the quiet sound of crickets and the soft crackling fire filling the silence. He leaned back, gazing up at the night sky, and watching the stars shine brightly. He found himself stealing occasional glances at you, his heart fluttering at the sight of you sitting beside him. He knew that the more time he spent with you, the more he was starting to fall for you, even if he tried to deny it.
You both sat in silence, enjoying each otherâs company. Your face was buried in a book, while Arthur stuffed his hand in his satchel rummaging through it. He took out a bottle of whiskey, twisting the bottle open. Your eyes pulled away from your book, and lingered on his neck as he sipped the alcohol.
He caught your gaze, looking down at you with a raised eyebrow as you stared at him. Arthur took another sip, looking at you curiously. âThere something on my neck?â He questioned you, a hint of curiosity in his voice.
âWhat? Oh⌠no.â You shook your head, turning your head away from him. You tried to continue reading, but couldnât even concentrate on the words. You let out a sigh, closing your book and locking eyes with Arthur. âMay I have some?â You asked. He chuckled slightly, lifting the bottle in his hand. âYeah, sure.â He said, handing you the bottle. You thanked him, bringing the bottle up to your lips. After taking a couple of sips, you wiped your mouth and handed the bottle back him. Arthur nodded his head, taking the bottle back into his hands. His eyes kept stealing glances at your lips, wondering what it would be like to feel them against his own. The thought of that idea sent him wild. A feeling he hasnât felt towards anyone in years.
Both of you fell into a silence again, and you felt the need to ask him a question that has been lingering on your mind for a while. You cleared your throat, looking down at your hands. âSo, Mr Morgan. How is the bounty hunting going?â Arthur leaned back, taking another sip from the bottle as you started the conversation. He paused for a moment, a small grimace appearing on his face. âItâs fine.â He answered, trying to sound nonchalant.
You let out a long sigh, fidgeting with your fingers. âSir, I would like to be frank with you about something.â Arthur raised his eyebrow, his demeanor changed as he took a deep breath. âAlright. Be frank then.â Your heart was in your throat as you glanced at him, unsure about how to word your confession. âI am not sure where to begin, so I will just say itâŚâ
âI am aware of you being a wanted man, Mr. Morgan.â
Arthurâs heart shattered the second those words left your mouth. He shouldâve expected the lie to crumble eventually, but he wasnât expecting it to happen now. All he could do was sit there in stunned silence, staring at you with a dumbfounded look on his face. His heart was pounding, his head was spinning, and he felt like the world was collapsing in around him. You knew. His mind went blank for a moment, all he could do is stare back at you, trying to come up with something to say. All he could let out was a barely audible response.
âHowâŚ?â
Your hands were shaking, as you turned to look at him. Arthur was looking down, his eyes covered by his hat. âI suspected you. Every time I asked about your âbounty huntingâ your response was never clear, and you avoided talking about what you do in general. Then, I started to investigate⌠and I found out that you are a wanted man in Blackwater. Thatâs all I know.â
Arthur sat there, almost paralyzed in shock. He knew the truth was going to come out eventually, but it still felt like a nightmare. He was silent for a moment, before his expression turned solemn. âSo, now you know what kind of a man I am, huh?â You furrowed your eyebrows, moving to sit closer to him. Your hands would not stop shaking, as you placed your hand on his shoulder causing him to lock eyes with you.
âArthur, I beg you⌠please⌠be honest with me. You might do terrible things, but I know that deep down youâre a good man.â Arthurâs breath hitched in his throat as you scooted closer to him, and he shivered as you said his name. It sounded so sweet coming out of your mouth. â⌠Say something. Please⌠I donât appreciate being lied to, Arthur.â You whispered.
He let out a soft sigh, nodding his head in defeat. Despite Arthurâs usual hardened exterior, he found himself unable to deny your request. He was completely wrapped around your finger, and he didnât mind it.
Arthurâs shoulders slouching as he started to speak, completely defeated. âI am in a gang.â He confessed to you. âItâs the truth. Itâs called the Van Der Linde Gang, we are a group of outlaws. Thatâs why Iâve been gone for long at times.â He lowered his head again, preventing you from seeing his irresistible hazel eyes. You smiled, placing your hand on top of his. âI appreciate your honesty, I understand it is difficult for you to tell me these things.â He slowly looked up, facing you with a pained expression on his face. âIâm sorry.â He said, his usually gruff voice was soft and almost a whisper. âI shouldâve told you from the start.â
You let out a giggle, melting his heart. Shaking your head, you looked down at your hand intertwined with his. Your eyes widened, pulling away from him as you cleared your throat. âItâs alright, I forgive. I would prefer if you stopped lying to me. If I were to turn you in for five thousand dollars, I would have done it already.â He let out a soft chuckle, a tinge of surprise on his face as he heard your words. He was once again taken aback by the fact that you werenât running away from him and calling the law upon him. It didnât make any sense.
âIâll be honest, from now on. I promise.â
Your eyes focused on the fire in front of you. âAnything else you have lied to me about?â You question him as he took the bottle of whiskey, lifting it up and bringing it to his lips. Arthur shook his head slightly, handing the bottle to you. âNo, I honestly donât think thereâs anythinâ else.â You uttered a âthank youâ as you took the alcohol from him.
âOh, so you were being honest when I asked you if there is someone waiting for you at home?â You took a large sip, and let out a deep sigh as you put the bottle down.
âNo mates? No missus?â
Arthur shook his head, turning to look at your profile as he spoke. âThereâs no one else. Itâs just me, ân the gang.â He took the bottle, his hands fiddling with it as he took a few sips from it. âTheyâre more like family than anything.â He explained, his voice low. You smiled, meeting his gaze. âIâm glad, Arthur.â He felt a warm feeling start to rise in his chest, a feeling he hasnât felt in forever.
He smiled softly, looking up at you as a comfortable silence hung in the air. Arthur stared at you for a bit, before looking away. He cleared his throat, trying to hide the slight blush on his cheeks. âYou have anymore questions, miss?â
You let out a small laugh, shaking your head. âNo, not at the moment at least.â You glanced at Arthurâs lips, your gaze lingering for a couple of seconds before you quickly looked away. You cursed yourself, wishing he didnât see that. Arthur felt his heart beat faster, as the image of you staring at his lips was stuck in his mind. As he took another sip from the whiskey, he couldnât help but sneak a glance at your own lips.
Arthur wanted to feel your lips against his.
He wanted to take you in his arms and just hold you there. He wanted to give you everything in the world. As he watched you in silence, he found himself unable to tear his gaze away from you. He could swear that you had to have felt him staring at you. His eyes were once again on your lips. Arthur felt a little bit of courage growing in him, and he found himself speaking before he could stop himself.
âHave you, uh, ever been⌠kissed?â
You took a deep breath, feeling that you might choke. You felt your cheeks get warmer as you looked down at your lap, tracing patterns on your dress.
â⌠No.â
Arthurâs expression was filled with a mix of surprise, curiosity, and slight bashfulness. He was completely taken by surprise at the fact that you have never been kissed.
âNever?â He asked, his voice was soft and low. He felt a strange warm feeling spread across his cheeks, his heart thrumming in his chest. He found it very hard to believe that you had never been kissed, he thought that youâd have any man in your hand, yet, no one had ever done anything to you. He swallowed nervously, his eyes locked on yours. âNot even once?â You shook your head, finding it impossible to look at him. Your ears were ringing, your heartbeat was elevating and you felt like you might throw up.
Suddenly, Arthurâs hand was trembling slightly as he slowly cupped your cheek. He used his thumb to gently tilt your head up, locking eyes with you. He gently placed the bottle of whiskey down, moving his body closer to yours as he leaned in. He could tell that you were feeling nervous and expectant. Arthurâs desire to kiss you was slowly taking over his mind. He began to lose all control as his eyes fixated on your lips once again.
He looked deep into your eyes as he spoke softly. âCan⌠can I kiss you?â
â⌠Yes.â
Arthur couldnât control himself anymore, the dam had broken. He leaned closer, bringing his face closer to yours, and placed his hand firmly on your chin, tipping your head up to him gently. He leaned forward and closed the distance between the two, pressing his lips to yours in a sweet, soft, and gentle kiss. You closed your eyes, bringing your hands to encircle his neck. Arthur tasted like whiskey, and cigarettes. You felt like you might lose your consciousness any second now.
His heart was pounding loudly in his chest as he felt your hands on his chest, and as he gently placed his hand on the nape of your neck. Arthur couldâve stay like this forever, away from his troubled life. Holding you against him, feeling your warm and soft skin, and relishing the moment of feeling your lips on his. After a few moments, Arthur slowly pulled away. Leaving you both panting softly, as he stared at your face.
His heart was still pounding, and his mind was still completely blissed out. He stared at you in utter adoration, completely stunned that he just had the privilege of being the first person to kiss you. Your eyes lingered on his lips, wanting more.
You found it difficult to calm down. Looking up at him, you licked your lips to savor his taste. Arthur stole a glance at the movement, biting back the desire to kiss them again. He was still slightly dazed, his mind was still trying to catch up with reality. He gently caressed your cheek, his hand slowly tracing down to your chin, tilting your head back up. He stared into your eyes, getting lost as he began to speak softly. âGod, youâre beautifulâŚâ
Arthur slowly moved a strand of hair away from your face, gently tucking it behind your ear. He continued to hold your chin, tilting your head up as he leaned forward once again, stealing another quick kiss from your lips. You smiled, finding yourself lost in his eyes as he pulled away. âThank you.â
He grinned, admiring the look on your face. His hand fell from your chin, but he didnât break eye contact with you, instead, he slowly sat right in front of you, staring into your eyes. âNo need to thank me, darlinâ.â
ââŚâ§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§
Arthur found the love he desperately craved for. He was completely infatuated with you, he would spend the sleepless nights thinking about you, picturing your face in his head. He found every single detail of you absolutely perfect, he never found anyone as attractive and mesmerizing as you. He felt like he could spend hours staring at your face and never tire. He would draw you in his journal, when you were busy burying your face in a book. He also kept the flower that you gave him, which was all dried up inside of the journal. You spent sleepless nights, writing love poems and letters that you never shared with him. For once in your life you felt like you could be yourself and not play the role of the perfect woman that you did around your father and others. Both of you would meet at any given opportunity, spending hours talking, teasing, and kissing.
You were wandering around the house, with a stupid smile on your face. You hummed to yourself, looking up at the pictures on the wall. Making your way to the kitchen, you noticed the maids busy with cooking dinner for your fathers guests tonight. The maids were busy, cleaning up any messes, and getting dinner ready. They turned to look at you as you entered, and a smile appeared on all of their faces.
âOh! Good afternoon!â One of them called out, they all stopped their work to greet you. You shook your head, shutting the door behind you. âItâs alright, donât stop⌠Iâm just bored I suppose.â You made your way to one of the empty chairs, sitting down and placing your hands on the table. You let out a long sigh, asking one of them a question. âWhen will fatherâs guests arrive?â The maids continued their work, and the one who spoke to you earlier responded.
âTheyâre due to arrive at around, eight or nine I think. But, donât worry, weâll have everything ready in time.â She responded, wiping off a glass with a rag. âMhm.â You let out hum, placing your face in your hands. Arthur would not leave your mind even for a second, you missed him deeply. He let you know that he might be gone for while, saying he had a job he needed to take care of. The others noticed how distracted you were, you seemed to be deep in your thoughts.
One of them spoke up, noticing that you were distracted. âYou seem very distracted, miss. Is something on your mind?â You looked up, not realizing how oblivious you behaved. You shook your head, smiling.
âNo, Iâm alright. But, I need a distraction. Would you ladies like some help?â You questioned, looking around the table. The maids looked at each other for a second, then back at you. One of them smiled, nodding her head. âSure, if youâd like.â She responded, seeming to be kind. You nodded your head eagerly, wanting to get your mind off Arthur for once. They smiled, happy to have some extra help. The one who spoke to you earlier started to show you what to do. âHere,â She said, as she handed you a few vegetables. âCould you start chopping those? We need some more, so we can make more salad for the guests.â
Thirty minutes later, you let them know you were done as you placed the knife down. You got up to wash your hands, turning your head to look at the maids. They all refused, seeming to be pleased with your help. The oldest one, shook her head. âNo, no thank you. You've been a great help, thank you.â She spoke, her tone cheerful.
You let out a sigh, drying your hands. You began to think about another distraction. âI think we should put some flowers on the table! It would make the table look appealing. I can head out and buy some.â You spoke with a hopeful tone. The maids looked at each other, and they all nodded their heads.
âOh yes! That would look beautiful. But, you donât have to do that miss, I will head out myselfââ
âAlright! Iâm heading out!â You cut her off, leaving the kitchen. Running towards the door, you grabbed some money from the drawer. The maids watched as you left, feeling glad that you could help them. You started walking down the town, making your way to the flower shop you loved. As you were getting closer, your thoughts began to shift back to Arthur once again.
As you made your way into the flower shop, you were greeted by the familiar scent of the flowers and plants. The old lady that owned the shop smiled at you as you walked in. âHello dear,â She said, âYou look rather thoughtful today.â You smiled, walking closer to her and the flowers. âGood day Mrs. Bell. Father has some guests visiting tonight, and I thought it would be nice to have some flowers for the table.â You explained, examining all of the flowers she had.
She smiled warmly, heading towards a variety of flowers nearby. âOf course, dear.â She said, gesturing with her hand. âFor a lovely table, like the ones your father has, I would recommend tulips. Their vibrant colours would look just right!âYou let out a laugh, nodding your head and handing her the money. âYes, theyâre perfect.â Mrs. Bell handed you the basket of flowers, letting you walk out of the shop.
You began to make your way home, humming to yourself again. Arthur was walking up the sidewalk with another man, having a rather normal conversation. But, then, he suddenly saw you walking away from the flower shop, and stopped in his tracks. You felt his eyes on you, as you turned around. Arthur was standing there, shaking his head at the man. You smiled to yourself, walking to a secluded alleyway.
Arthur watched you dart into the alley. He let the man know he had to go, quickly making his way down the street. As he walked into the alley, he saw you leaning on the wall. He smiled, taking a few steps closer to you. âDarlinâ?â
âArthur.â You smiled, holding up the basket close to your chest. Arthur looked around, before placing his hand gently under your chin. He lifted your head up, and leaned down to softly press his lips against yours. You smiled into the kiss, your free hand resting on his arm. Arthur pulled away, smiling. âWhat are these for?â He asked, glancing down at the flowers.
âFather has some guests tonight, itâs for the table.â You answered, looking down at his lips. A thought formed in your head, making you feel slightly light-headed. âArthur?â You whispered, looking up at his hazel eyes. He opened his eyes when you pulled away. âYes?â He asked, his voice just above a whisper.
You took a deep breath, not believing what youâre going to say. You placed the basket down, fixing your hair as you did so.
âMy father will leave the city in three days, and he will be gone for a little while. If youâre⌠not occupied, I would like you to visit me.â His eyes widened, he was surprised by your request. âVisit you..?â He asked, his heart thumped in his chest. He had to pause for a second, to process your words.
He stared at you for a moment, before nodding his head. âSure.â He responded. âIâllâŚâ He paused, thinking for a moment. âIâll make sure Iâm not occupied.â You smiled, feeling your heart beat faster. âCome by late, and please use the back door. I canât risk anybody noticing you come in.â You instructed, bringing your hand up to run your fingers through his hair. Arthur nodded, taking note of your warning âDonât worry darlinâ⌠Iâll make sure that no one sees me.â He responded, his voice still soft.
ââŚâ§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§â§
Three days later, you found yourself alone at the house. You were sitting down in your vanity chair, brushing your hair. You had an elegant long short sleeve dress on, and you made sure that your make up was perfect. The maids and your father were already gone, leaving you alone in the house.
Arthur made his way through the town, carefully making sure no one noticed him. He made his way down the familiar streets, and stopped when he found your house. He looked around, noticing how eerily quiet the street was. He made his way towards the back of the house, finding the back door. He stood in front of the door, looking over his shoulder one last time. Seeing no one, he knocked softly on the door.
You got up, and ran downstairs. Opening the door, you pulled him in. âQuick, before anyone sees you!â He was surprised by your speed, chuckling softly at your panicked state, he let you shut the door behind him. Arthur quickly looked around, noticing that the house was empty. He turned his gaze back to you. âDonât worryâ.â He whispered. âNo one will see me.â
You let out a giggle, placing your hands behind your back. âWould you like something to eat?â You asked, looking up at him. He stood in front of you, looking you up and down. He was pleasantly surprised by your appearance, his eyes slowly tracing your body. âYou look beautiful, darlinâ.â He compliments you. You felt your cheeks get warm, mumbling a âthank youâ.
He shook his head, answering your question. âNo, Iâm alright.â He said, his tone soft. âIâll show you around the house then.â You spoke, your tone cheerful. His hands intertwined with yours, following your lead through the massive house. He looked around as you showed him around, taking in the interior of the rooms.
âSeems that my first impression of you being wealthy was correct.â He joked, gently squeezing your hand. You playfully rolled your eyes, leading him upstairs. Arthur followed you closely, looking at each room you showed him. When you stopped at your bedroom door, he stopped behind you. He looked into your room, taking note of how nice it was. He took a step into your room, his eyes looked around your room. âVery nice.â He said.
âThank you.â You smiled, shutting the door behind yourself before stepping in. You watched him look around your room, as you played with your hair. He looked around your room, taking in every small detail. It was definitely very fancy, and very luxurious. It was what heâd expect from a girl who was raised upper class. He walked towards a shelf, examining all the things you had on it. He looked over your things, noticing books and pretty jewelry. Arthur let out a soft chuckle, looking back at you. âYou really like to read, donât you?â He asked, his gaze locked onto the shelf full of books.
You shrugged your shoulders, sitting down at the edge of your bed. âItâs all I could do to escape. I couldnât just hop on my horse and ride around the town to clear my head, Mr. Morgan.â He chuckled, amused by your answer. âFair point.â He responded, a small smile appearing across his face.
Arthur returned his gaze to the shelf, running his hand over the spines of the books. âSo you read all of these?â He asked, his eyes still on the shelf. âYes, I did.â You spoke, fiddling with your fingers. He turned away from the shelves, taking a few slow steps towards you. He took a seat next to you, his eyes locked onto yours. He gently grabbed your hands, stopping you from fidgeting.
You glanced down at his lips, before looking down at your hands again. He smiled to himself, before wrapping his hands around your waist and pulling your body against his. He then leaned down, catching your lips in a deep and passionate kiss. He let out an almost low groan as your hands grabbed his head, pulling him in. He parted your lips with his, his one hand still gripping tightly on your waist. He wanted to feel all of you on him.
âArthur.â You placed your hands on his chest and pulled away. You were breathing heavily, and your face flushed. He let out a soft breath when you pulled away, his breathing heavy. He placed his hands on the back of your head, gently pulling you in as his expression softened. âDarlinââŚâ He mumbled, his tone low.
âI have never been with a man beforeâŚâ
Arthurâs face softened at your words, his eyes locked on you as he nodded. âI figured.â He responded, his tone gentle. His grip on your head loosened a bit, and he lowered his hands to cup your face. âYou alright?â He asked, his eyes still studying you. âYes, yes I am.â You nodded, as your hands reached his shoulders. You looked up at him again, your eyes meeting his.
âI want this.â
Arthur couldnât deny that he wanted you just as bad. He was feeling a burning sensation himself, a need to hold and touch you. To feel you. He let out a soft sigh, his hands still on your waist. âAlright, darlinâ.â He mumbled into your hair, gently placing a kiss on the top of your head. His gaze remained on you as he watched you undo your dress buttons. His eyes slowly traced down your body, noticing how your dress slowly started to loosen. Arthur gently pushed you to lay down on the bed, pulling the dress off of your body. His eyes roamed your body, as you were left in your undergarments. Your skin was almost glowing under the light, and it made his heart thump harder in his chest. He took in the view of you, his breath caught in his throat.
Arthur leaned down, leaving kisses on your neck. He groaned lightly into your skin. He continued to kiss and suck on your neck, making his way down to your collarbone. He stopped kissing your neck and moved away, noticing that you started to unbutton his vest. His eyes watched your hands as you unbuttoned his vest, and he let out a deep breath.
He quickly took the vest off, throwing it on the floor along with his button up shirt before pulling you back towards him. Arthurâs arms wrapped around your waist, his hands rested on your hips as he held your body against him. His gaze was locked onto yours, his chest was rising and falling with each breath as you untied your corset. His eyes slowly moved down to your hands, watching closely as you undid the corset and slowly pulled it off along with everything else you had on.
Arthur stared down at you, your hair fanned out all over the pillow under you. He was breathing heavily as his eyes slowly taking in every part of you, every inch of your bare skin, everything about you. Arthurâs jaw slightly clenched as he stared down at your exposed chest. He gently leaned down, gently placing soft kisses all over your chest. He was taking his time to touch every inch of your skin. You encircled your hands around him, caressing his skin. Arthur was so gentle, loving and more importantly patient with you. You let out a small whine as he kissed your body, squeezing your legs. Arthur slowly looked up at you, his eyes noticed how you seemed to be enjoying every little touch and kiss he gave you. He kept going, placing more of his kisses on your skin. His hands gripped softly on your waist, as he continued down your stomach.
âArthurâŚâ You breathed out, feeling your body get warmer. He could tell you were beginning to yearn for more than just his kisses. He stopped for a moment, lifting himself up so he was hovering over you. Arthur softly placed a peck on your jawline, then leaned in to whisper against your lips. âUse your words, darlinâ. Tell me what you want.â Your hand gripped his bicep, your nails digging into his skin. You leaned in close to him, your lips next to his ear.
âI want you, Arthur.â
He placed another soft kiss on your jawline, before pulling back to look into your eyes. âI know darlinâ, I know.â He hummed, his hands gently started to wander your body again. Arthur grabbed your thighs, and slowly pulled them apart, settling himself in between your legs. He placed a few more kisses on your skin, his lips trailing across your hip and inner thigh. He felt you shiver under him once he placed his kisses on your thigh, noticing the way your body was reacting. He gently nipped on your skin, before he slowly began to trail kisses back up towards your stomach. He loved the way you reacted, and he loved your whines and soft whimpers. Arthur placed his hands on both of your thighs, softly rubbing them. âYouâre so damn beautiful.â He muttered, his voice low.
âArthur.â You whined out, caressing his head. Your body shivered, yearning for him and his cock. Arthur sat up, his hands reaching to unbuckle his belt. Yours eyes were glued to his pants, and you could not find yourself to look away. He let out a deep breath as he unbuckled his belt, his eyes locked onto your face. He could see that you were watching intently at him with an almost eager look on your face, which made him feel a sense of satisfaction.
Arthur quickly took his belt off, dropping it onto the floor. He then reached down and began to unbutton his pants. Once his pants were unbuttoned and he pushed them down, he settled himself in between your legs again. His hand cupped your cheek, his thumb gently rubbing your skin. Arthur could feel your heart beating through your skin.
He began to place more kisses across your skin, his hand slowly moving from your cheek down your body. He stopped once his hand was gripping your thigh again, his lips were hovering over your chest. He gently nipped at your skin before looking up at you, his eyes were locked onto yours again. âDon't be afraid to tell me if somethin' doesn't feel right.â
âAlright.â You whispered, as he gripped the headboard. He took a deep breath, his heart was racing as he looked down at you. He could feel your nails digging into his skin, and he softly groaned. He slowly lifted your legs, bending them so your knees would go up. Arthur slowly pressed himself into your cunt, his hand tightened against your thigh as he continued to ease inside. He let out a low grunt as he felt how tight you were, his body started to shiver with pleasure. He leaned down, his upper body hovering over you and his face was close to yours. âDarlinâ.â He grunted out, his hand was still holding tightly on the headboard. You let out a loud whine, holding onto his arm. Arthur grinned, placing a few kisses across your face. âYou alright?â He asked, his voice was soft and low, and he sounded almost breathless.
âIâm fine, just please⌠keep going.â You managed to breathe out. He nodded, taking a deep breath as he continued to slowly push himself inside of you. âYou're so damn tight, darlinâ...â He hissed. Arthur was slowly losing his self control, the fact that you were so close, so bare and so willing was going to drive him feral. Arthurâs hand gently rubbed at your thigh. âYou're doing so well, darlinâ...â He whispered, his voice was filled with lust and desire. He slowly began to thrust in and out of your cunt, making you moan in frustration and grip the sheets. âArthur, please⌠go faster.â
Arthur couldn't deny you any longer. Your desperation was like music to his ears, and he was willing to give you what you craved for. Arthur slowly pulled out of you, and then quickly slammed back in, burying himself completely inside of you. He let out a loud, guttural groan, his body trembled as he felt himself completely enveloped in your tight cunt. You whined, wrapping your legs around his waist. He buried his face into your neck, panting heavily against your skin as he began to thrust his cock into your cunt. âFuck...â He groaned, his grip on your thigh getting tighter. He quickly began to move his thrusts, each one of them being harder than the last.
He was completely consumed by you, his mind was fully focused on nothing but you. He wanted to make you feel good, he wanted to make you feel loved and appreciated. He leaned in and began to whisper sweet praises in your ear, knowing it was making you feel good. âGood girl, youâre doing so good.â Arthur started to kiss your neck, gently biting your skin as he panted hard. âYou're so damn beautiful.â His thumb began to rub circles on your clit, making you moan ever louder.
âShit⌠Arthur!â You felt a knot twist on your lower stomach. Your back arched slightly, as you bit down on your lip. He leaned his head down, his body was on top of yours, his arms were on either side of your head, holding him up. He grunted lowly, his breaths were heavy and shaky. âShh. There girl,â He muttered, his lips against your neck
âGood girl.â Your legs shook, as he moaned out your name. He continued to thrust, his body shivered whenever you whined or moaned. He felt his own pleasure building up, and he knew he wouldn't be able to hold on for much longer. He kept whispering praises in your ear, hoping that it would help bring you closer to the edge. He softly grunted, his breath was hot and heavy against your skin. âYou're doing so well, sweetheart. Just let go.â He whispered.
âOh, fuckâŚâ You whined out, cumming all over his cock. Arthur kept going, his pace was quick and rough. He was getting close to his own release, and he was trying to hold it back, just for a bit longer. He leaned down, groaning loudly into your skin. âF-Fuck, darlinâ.â He moaned. Arthur grunted loudly as he pulled his cock out and finished, releasing onto your stomach. He leaned his body on you, his chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath. His body was pressed against your own, his arms were still on either side of your head, and his face was still buried in your neck. Your fingers ran through his hair, soothing him. After a couple of minutes of silence, Arthur lifted his head up to look down at you. His eyes glanced at your stomach, and noticed the mess he made. He chuckled softly, his eyes still focused on you. âSorry about the mess.â He mumbled.
You brought your hand up to caress his face, your thumb swiping across his chin. You lazily smiled, almost letting out a laugh. âItâs alright.â He gently leaned into your hand, his eyes briefly closing as he felt your touch. He slowly opened his eyes, and he smiled softly. Arthur took a deep breath, his gaze still on your face. âIâm gonna clean you up, darlinâ.â He said softly, his hand gently rubbing your thigh.

summary with you drunk and overly-expressive in your love, kara becomes reassured of your relationship
warnings drunk!reader drunk! x sober! kissing
Kara took one look at you and decided that she would be taking you home. She knows itâs a bit spur-of-the moment and possibly ill-advisedâyouâre tipsy, flushed, and sheâs painfully stone-cold sober after three drinks and a pre-game shot. But nothing has to happen. It would be nice just to have you in her space.
âKaaaaaara,â you singsong, pausing to hiccup and giggle. You lean against her, so much in her space there could be another person sitting on your other side. âKara, Kara, Kara. Kar-Kar.â
Music pulses and thrums overhead and she leans in close. Itâs too loud in hereâchatter, music, glasses slamming onto counters, slurping. No off-planet bar was ever this loud to her, another red sun advantage she sorely misses.
âWhat?â she shouts against your ear.
âI love this song! âAll the Things She Said!ââÂ
Kara knows. Itâs one song she learned shortly after meeting you because you have a habit of blaring it on repeat in your car.
âYouâre drunk!â Kara shouts back with a laugh. Youâre cute like this. Someday sheâll take you to another planet, one with a red sun, and you can have a night of (alien) liquor together.Â
âOnly a little,â you argue with a pout. âCan we get more fries? Iâm hungry. I want more fries.â
Kara orders another plate of fries and watches with amusement as you stick two in your mouth and mimic a walrus. You press a third against her lips and she takes it gently, teeth skimming your finger, and grins when you giggle and turn away, embarrassed. Gods, she loves you.Â
âI wanna go home,â you declare after swallowing the last of the fries. Kara takes your drink and downs the dregs.
âThen letâs get you out of here.â
Outside is so muchâquieter. Sure, there are cars and people and light, but itâs spread out and blanketed with warmth. You stumble into Kara enough times until she wraps an arm around you to keep you close. Humming and swaying, you keep darting looks at her.
âWhat?â she asks eventually, faintly amused.
âNothing!â you press your face into her shoulder. Sheâs so warm. You wonder, briefly, if she gives off heat literally, like a human furnace. Maybe itâs a Kryptonian thing? Maybe Clark will let you test your theory out next time he comes round. âYouâre pretty.â
âYouâre pretty,â Kara says softly, as if the words are fragile. Itâs far from the first time sheâs said it. Yet something about the words, the whole idea of this relationship with you, still makes her heart race. You stayed for Kara Danvers of Metropolis, stayed for Kara Zor-El of Krypton, and are still here for just Kara. Some days that feels like nothing short of a miracle.
âWeâre going to your apartment,â you say abruptly. âRight?â
âWe can,â Kara says, tilting her head. That had been her plan from the beginning, but you asking to go âhomeâ had thrown her off her game a bit. You smile to yourself and look down at the sidewalk.
âOkay.â
Kara could fly you home. Wrap you in her arms, your face tucked against her collarbone, and make it to her apartment within seconds. But this is justâŚbetter. She gets to walk slowly through the streets with your warmth bleeding through her jacket and your soft humming in her ear.
When Kara pushes open the door to her apartment, you stumble in and drop to your knees to embrace a wiggling Krypto.
âOh, hi, puppy, hi! We missed you,â you coo as you scrub along his neck with your palms. Krypto barks and jumps, flying in a twisting figure around the two of you, much to your amusement permeated with laughter.
Kara gets a glass of water from the kitchen, watching as you clumsily fall onto the couch and invite Krypto into your lap, marking his white fur with lipstick kisses. When she walks into your view, your face immediately lights up.
âKara!â you cheer. You reach out and make grabby hands towards her. âCâmere. Wanna cuddle.â
She makes you drink water first, well aware of the âdelicate sensibilitiesâ (Clarkâs words) of humans compared to herself, but then settles on the couch with you between her legs, curled up against her chest.Â
âKara?â
âHm?â
âYouâre my best friend,â you sigh. âI love you.â
Kara smiles softly. âI love you too.â
You giggle and tilt your head back. âCan I have a kiss?â
She canât refuse you. Not when you look like a painting: cheeks flushed, eyes shining, hair a mess.
âOf course.â Kara gives you a gentle kiss and then settles back into the couch with you cradled in her arms. âNow get some rest.â
note sorry if the ending feels off I debated it forever and finally just gave up haha! also reader likes attss because i like that song and i can put whatever i want in my fics <3 if you have any kara requests, lmk! I'm thinking about autistic!reader x kara who isn't used to having her superhearing 24/7....
Summary: You swear your girlfriend has never demanded anything from you. When a mission with Clark sees her thrown back into a pile of rubble suddenly all she needs is you. Only problem? You have a event you have to get to. Until Kara decides to show you why you should stay home instead.
WC: 3k
Authors Note: Basically my take on red kryptonite! Technically this be read as a one shot to my ongoing series, but it doesnât have to be!
Warnings: minors pls dni! um, okay so fingering, restraining (?), definitely dom!kara, edging, maybe a little bit of Kara being condescending, mean!kara lowkey, strap use, overstimulation, two hickeys of dubious consent, pet names, kara having a thing for you cooking for her in pretty dresses, use of the word girl, and um⌠I think thatâs it? basically shameless smut enjoy!
The mission is easy, arguably Clark doesnât even need her help, sheâs merely going through the motions as she normally does eager to get home to you.
Until she gets thrown back into a pile of rubble by the guy she thought they had. At first she shakes it off as she stands, feeling no worse for wear minus a new tingling sensation, but as Clark manages to cuff him successfully this time her mind suddenly swims with images.
Images of you.
Accompanied by those thoughts, the thoughts sheâs been having more of lately as your relationship settles into something solid. She knows theyâll keep returning because sheâs no longer scared of wanting things, of wanting you.
And sheâs used to not caring when itâs criminals she can rough up and intimidate, with them sheâs demanding and even a little mean, not that she really cares that she is. With you however Kara normally tries to be softer, more considerate.
Normally, because on the return home all she feels is a building sensation of pent up frustration thatâs anything but normal, and she knows exactly who she needs to make it stop.
She comes through your front door now, days of flying in through your window for the most part gone, her own set of keys clinking in the little dish you keep in the foyer.
Krypto perks up at the sound from where he lies in his dog bed. Kara had teased you endlessly for buying it, overpriced and more lavish then you needed to get, but he loves it and it saves your couch.
Youâre just putting the finishing touches on a summer cake, little candy cherries bright against the white icing, already dressed and nearly ready to go.
The view basically throws any restraint she thought she may be able to show out the window.
You watch with mild curiosity as she goes straight for you and not towards the bathroom to shower like she usually does.
But you hold out a candy cherry for her before she even has to ask, startling a little when Kara takes it from your fingers with her mouth, teeth grazing your fingertips.
You huff as you wipe your hands. âWhat do you think?â You ask as you gesture to the cake.
âLooks good.â She muses, but you know by her tone that she doesnât mean the cake. You laugh softly, knowing already what a mood like this means. Kara is for the most part gentle, intense yes but gentle, but sometimes post mission she gets a little more insatiable.
You think maybe itâs the high she gets from being so strong, or from all the action she sees, but you reach backwards to touch the side of her face the best you can.
âI got that dinner thing remember?â You say in an attempt to deter her. âI have to leave soon.â
You wait for the grumbling, and the little bit of pouting that usually happens before she accepts. It doesnât come however, because Kara forgot about your stupid dinner thing, and now her mind is trying to adjust to the news.
Trying and failing. Her hands wrap around your hips, fabric bunching as they do, and her lips find your neck.
âSkip it.â She mumbles against your skin.
She doesnât say you could skip it like she normally does, and thatâs new, you think, but you know Kara can be impatient.
Maybe she had a worse day than you thought. So in an attempt to figure out her mood you try to turn in her grip so you can face her.
Youâre surprised when Kara merely pushes you against the island so thereâs not enough space for you to turn.
âWhatâs going on baby?â You ask.
âNothingâs going on.â She says as her lips slip to the base of your neck. Her hands are still gripping at your waist like you might try to wiggle away if she lets up. âJust missed you.â
âMissed you too.â You assure gently. âI wonât be that long. Probably like an hour at most. You can shower and then when I get backââ
Kara merely scowls against your skin at the mere thought of letting you go right now.
âI donât want to wait.â She says bluntly. âItâs going to be old boring men anyways.â
Thatâs not entirely true, but you donât say that to her. Instead you place your hands over hers, and rub your thumb across her knuckles. âWhat happened with Clark?â You try to change the subject.
âNothing.â She dismisses. âHe didnât even really need me there.â
Youâre about to pry, because it really doesnât seem like itâs been a regular day for her, but sheâs pushing the left strap of your dress down your shoulder.
âHey!â You object as you go to fix it.
But she stops you as her lips replace where it had been. You know your girlfriend can get needy, you both can, but usually sheâs more tentative than this.
âWas doing fine at first, but then all I could think about was you, and now youâre in this dress and I just wannaâŚâ
Kara really canât think of how to explain what exactly she wants to do, so she merely digs her teeth into your skin a little. It makes you push back into her, your heart beat quickening, and that makes her hum in satisfaction.
âThereâs my girl.â She says.
Youâre definitely feeling hot now if the way your breathing hitches is any indication. Itâs music to her ears. She knows you hate feeling this way before you have to go somewhere, and she often refrains from using that to her advantage. She doesnât refrain today if it means getting what she wants.
You eye the time and grimace as you realize youâre very close to being late. So finally you take the direct approach and try to wiggle free from her. She does loosen her grip just a tad so you can, but when you turn to face her you can see sheâs not happy about it.
âWhatâs gotten into you?â You demand.
Kara sighs at the question. It doesnât make sense to her why you think somethingâs happened to her.
âI donât feel like sharing you with other people tonight.â She says as if it should be the most obvious thing in the world.
She watches as your eyebrows lift with shock at her bluntness.
âI shouldnât have to.â She adds. âI mean you in that dressâŚâ She loves the way your cheeks flush at her words, and how they leave you speechless.
You are aware that Kara seems to like you in dresses like this, somewhat flowing but tight enough to show your figure, but in your defence you thought sheâd be home while you were out and that itâd be a surprise for her after.
You open your mouth to tell her one last time that you really have to go, but as if sensing your hesitation, Kara closes the small amount of distance between you again, and kisses you hard.
Your hands find her waist, suit fabric a little rough under your fingers, merely so you can balance yourself, but she takes it as a chance to deepen the kiss. Her one hand coming to wrap carefully around the base of your throat as she does.
This is absolutely new, you think, as you realize youâre not making it to that party now.
Kara feels triumphant as she turns you back around, pins you once again between the counter and her body, and pushes the other dress strap down so that your dress begins to fall around your chest.
âThink about doing this so often.â She admits, and your eyes widen in surprise, because this is the first time youâre hearing about it.
âYeah?â You push, wanting her to elaborate before she distracts you.
âYeah.â She breathes. âDrives me wild when Iâm away knowing youâre here cooking for me in an outfit like this just waiting for me to come home.â
You want to point out that you donât wait here all day for her, but the way her hands are roaming over you is making it hard.
âMakes me think about how I want to bend you over this counter andââ
Your gasp cuts her off as strong hands slip from your sides to your thighs. She chuckles at your reaction as her hands push your legs apart, and she practically groans when she feels how wet you are.
âAll for me.â She teases. âYou must think about me doing this too.â
Youâre so used to Kara saying these things with a question mark at the end, as if sheâs never sure sheâs read you right, even though she usually does.
But now? Now Kara acts with a self assured confidence, like she knows sheâs right, and god is it turning you on. What the hell happened on that mission?
âAll for you.â You say breathlessly as her fingers curl deeper inside of you, heel of her palm pressing against your clit just right.
It makes your legs shake, and you attempt to close your thighs a tad for a measure of stability, but Kara tsks.
âNuh-uh.â She grumbles. âStay still.â
And to make her point she uses her foot to nudge your legs apart so her hands can focus on working you up.
With no other option you let your weight fall against the counter as her fingers continue to hit all the spots she knows you like.
âYou close?â She asks and she grins as you nod with a tiny whimper. âWords pretty girl.â She demands, and your eyes flutter closed.
Although even if you do manage words it wonât change much, Kara already knows what she wants, and itâs to see you come undone for her.
You get close sometimes after you have sex, she can tell, when you get all limp and sleepy on her. But she wants to see you like that sooner, see you at her mercy, so she removes her fingers the minute you start to tense.
âKara!â You all but snap at her, voice petulant as you try to adjust to how empty you feel now.
Youâre staring at her, her only response a smirk, and it makes you feel some type of way. Sheâs never been mean like this. Sheâs pinned your wrists into the mattress before, gave you one too many orgasms when youâre already spent, but thisâŚ
âOh come on.â She teases as she hooks her arms underneath your ass and picks you up so your legs have to wrap around her waist. âYou were going to make me wait an hour. Whatâs a couple of minutes?â
Itâs not the same thing and she knows it, but sheâs laying you gently on the bed before you can point that out to her.
Usually youâd complain about her being on your bed in her suit, but when she starts to touch you again you canât be bothered to care.
She slides her fingers back into you, this time deeper than before, and her free hand comes to hold down your hips when you push up into her.
âPlease!â You beg.
She can tell though, that even in your neediness, that you hesitate to give into her. So she denies you again much to your dismay.
âKara stop teasing me.â You say, growing desperate for some type of release.
She stands now. âStop teasing you?â She echoes as she takes off her clothes, and reaches for the drawer. Your eyes track her. âNow why would I do that?â She asks.
You feel your lip jut out. âBecause I want to cum.â You try to reason.
She tilts her head to the side. âBut I want to do this.â Your eyes widen as she settles back onto the bed.
âIâll do anything else!â You beg, and Karaâs basically vibrating with excitement at the way you're already so willing to do what she wants.
âAnything?â
Your throat bobs a tad as you stare up at her, but youâre stubborn, so you nod. She seems to debate for a long moment her request, fingers drawing patterns against your skin.
âFine pretty girl Iâll let you cum.â She relents. âNo teasing.â You frown when a request doesnât follow, but then sheâs manhandling you.
She flips you around so youâre suddenly on your hands and knees, and even though you donât take this position often, youâre okay with this being her demand. Until she places a hand on the small of your back and pushes.
Itâs not hard enough to hurt you, but it makes you back arch for her. And now you feel on display in a way that even being nude doesnât make you feel.
You squirm a tad in an attempt to make yourself more comfortable, but her grip doesnât let up. âKaraâŚâ You say, mind getting heavy.
âSsh sweetheart, youâre going to be my good girl and stay like that arenât you?â You gulp.
âYes.â You reply.
Kara grins down at you in satisfaction. This is exactly what she had in mind. Your dress is bunched up at your hips now, your underwear quickly discarded, and she wastes no time before sinking the strap into you.
The moan you let out spurs her on as she sinks the entire strap in rather quickly. You feel so damn full as she sets an unforgiving pace.
âSo pretty like this.â She praises you. âAll mine.â
You almost donât reply, mind too heavy to think, but you remember what she said earlier. âFeel so good.â You say into your sheets, and she chuckles.
This time she doesnât deny you when you reach your orgasm, your chest heaving, and youâre thankful for finally getting some relief.
Until she starts again and you whine out in surprise. âKara please...â Youâre definitely not used to her being this rough and although itâs definitely not unpleasant you feel like jelly already.
You twist your face into your pillow, but she reaches down, strap hitting a new angle as she does, and takes your hair in her hand.
âDonât hide.â She says as she turns your head to the side again. âWanna see you.â
It makes you feel embarrassingly hot, and you really wish you had the energy to quip back at her, but you donât. You donât even have the energy to move your head back. So you stay like that, utterly exposed for her.
âKnew youâd be good for me.â She praises as her hand leaves your hair and wraps around you so she can rub circles against your clit again.
It doesnât take you long to come again, body spent, and eyes fluttering closed. But two denials and two orgasms donât seem like enough for her so she starts again.
Your back tries to straighten out, but she presses down again, forcing you stay exactly as you are. You try to stay still for her, you really do, but the closer another orgasm gets the more you try to run from it.
So now sheâs pushing you down completely flat, arms coming underneath your own so she more or less has you pinned. The new position makes the strap go deeper somehow, and you swear you donât know if you can give her another one.
But she seems insistent. ââs too much.â You beg her.
âOne more.â She demands, as she kisses the back of your shoulder, and then up your neck again. You feel her leave a couple of hickeys youâre sure will be hard to hide and you whine out.
She just shushes you. âYouâre mine.â
âIâm yours.â You say voice mumbled into fabric. She coaxes one final orgasm from you before she gently pulls out.
But she leaves a trail of kisses down your back, as she rubs gentle circles into your hips. You muster the energy to flip onto your back, and look up at her.
Sheâs panting, hair sticking to her forehead, as she removes the harness from her hips. She bends down and kisses your knee before slipping from the bed.
âBabe?â You call out your voice rough .
âYeah?â She replies, as if she didnât just fuck you senseless.
âYouâre sure youâre okay?â You ask her softly.
âYeah.â She says. âI feel really good actually. Are you okay?â
âTried.â You tease. âBut good.â
She nods before thudding off to run you both a bath and grab you water.
Karaâs demeanour is entirely different when she wakes the next morning. Her eyes fluttering across you as you sleep wrapped in her arms. Until she sees the dark purple marks on your neck.
âOh god.â She murmurs as she begins to wake. âIâm so sorry.â She tries to think back to why she would do this, run through the events of yesterday, and realizes the rubble. âRed kryptonite.â She whispers.
You frown up at her, hands chasing her as she pulls away. âRed?â You ask.
âYeah Clark said heâs been effected a couple of times. Apparently each new chunk can cause different things, but he said there was one that made him⌠rude.â
You canât really picture Clark as rude, but you decide not to focus on it. âI swear I didnât know. I just feltâŚâ
Your eyes search her as she hesitates. âIâm not upset.â You finally offer, pulling her close to you again. âYou didnât do anything to me that I didnât want. Minus the questionable hickeys.â
She canât look at you now. âI just felt less afraid.â She admits. Youâre quiet then, as you trace tiny patterns across her arm.
âI liked it.â You say, face growing hot and that makes Kara stop.
Because she thought your heart was racing because you were upset with her, but now she realizesâŚ
âWait.â She murmurs. âYou liked it.â
âYeah,â you assure, âit felt good obviously, but also nice. I like when youâŚâ you donât want to finish now embarrassed yourself. âI just didnât know you wanted that.â
âI didnât at first.â She admits. âI think because I was nervous to, but now things feel solid and IâŚâ
âDo?â You finish and she nods.
âNot always, but sometimes.â She adds. You lean up and kiss her then.
âThen we can do sometimes. No need for anymore magic space rocks.â

Of course they donât like Milly Alcockâs Supergirl. Sheâs a grown ass woman with zero love interests who spends the movie saving her dog, casually dismantling a sex trafficking ring while sheâs at it, and preaching the importance of being good, not nice or smiley or cheerful but good. I for one adored the movie and I really hope Iâll get to see more of Alcockâs Supergirl sheâs now my favorite iteration of her and I love her so dearly.

Arthur morgan, cowboy hat, broken window, rough hands, cigarette smoke, farm, cottonwood tree, wildflowers, cross sign.
đš word count: 1,096.
đš Arthur making you grind on his denim-clad thigh.
The sun hung low over the dusty streets of Willow Creek, a speck of a town tucked away in the endless plains of the late 1880s American West. Folks here scratched out a living from the hard earth, and life moved slow as molasses on a winter morning. You were just *whatever age you want*, raised proper by your widowed ma in a modest cabin on the edge of town. Innocent as fresh-fallen snow, you'd never strayed far from the Bible verses and the daily chores like milking cows, tending the garden, helping at the general store. Dreams of the world beyond were whispers in your heart, but reality kept you grounded, pure and untouched by the wilder ways of men.
That's when Arthur rode into town. He was a drifter, looked thirty-five years old with a face weathered by sun and wind, broad shoulders and hefty biceps. His hat sat over his tried eyes, and when he spoke, his voice carried the rough twang of the frontier, words drawled out like a lazy river, with a lilt that made your cheeks flush just hearing it."Yer lookin' mighty fine today, darlin'," he'd say with a tip of his hat the first time you met, outside the store where he was buyin' tobacco and beans. You smiled and let out a thank you, eyes downcast, but he lingered, askin' about the town like he had all the time in the world. Turned out he was fixin' to stay a spell, takin' odd jobs at the livery stable. Day by day, you'd cross paths, him haulin' hay, you fetchin' water and conversations bloomed like wildflowers after rain.
He was kind in his way, sharin' stories of cattle drives and distant mountains, makin' you laugh with tales of rowdy saloons and starry nights. He never pushed, just became a friend, walkin' you home from church socials or sittin' on the porch swing, sippin' cool well water. But there was a hunger in his gaze sometimes, a spark that made your stomach twist in ways you didn't understand. You trusted him, though why wouldn't you? He was the first man to see you as more than just the good girl next door.
One sweltering afternoon, after you'd finished your chores, Arthur found you by the creek, skimming stones across the water. "Fancy a walk, sweet girl'?" he asked, his voice low and gravelly, that Western drawl wrapping around the words like smoke. You nodded- "sure", heart skippin', and followed him out past the town limits, where the prairie grass swayed tall and golden. He led you to a lone cottonwood tree, its branches heavy with shade, far from pryin' eyes no cabins in sight, just the whisper of wind and the distant low of cattle.
You both settled against the trunk, your dress fannin' out over the dirt, his long legs stretched before him. The air was thick with summer heat, and sweat beaded on your skin. Arthur leaned back, hat tipped up, watchin' you with that intense look. "Y'know, doll" he said, his accent thick as sorghum, "life out here's full o' wonders you ain't discovered yet. Things that make a body feel alive, deep in their bones."
You blushed, fiddlin' with the hem of your skirt. "Like what..?" Your voice was soft, curious, interested.
He chuckled, a deep rumble in his chest, and patted his thigh strong and muscled from years in the saddle. "C'mere, sit a spell. Right here on my' lap."
Your eyes widened, a flutter of nerves mixin' with excitement. You'd never been this close to a man, not like this. But trust won out, and you shifted, swingin' your leg over to straddle one of his thighs. The rough denim of his pants scratched against your bare skin where your skirt rode up, and you felt the solid heat of him beneath you. "What⌠what now?" you whispered, hands restin' on his shoulders for balance.
Arthur's hands settled on your hips, firm but gentle, guidin' you. "That's it, darlin'. Now, you move. Slow-like. Rock your hips against me, feel that friction buildin' up." His voice dropped lower, that Western lilt coaxin' you like a horse to water. "Yer a good girl, but good girls got needs too. Let me show you how to make that sweet pussy of yours sing."
The word shocked you pussy but it sent a thrill straight to your core, a warmth spreadin' between your legs. You hesitated, then rocked forward, your heat pressin' against the hard ridge of his thigh. A gasp escaped your lips as a spark of pleasure shot through you, unfamiliar and electric.
"Atta girl," Arthur murmured, his breath hot against your ear. "'That's it, darlin', rock that pretty little pussy back and forth. Feel how yer soakin' through them drawers?" His fingers dug into your hips, helpin' you find a rhythm, back and forth, the seam of his pants rubbin' right against your clit through the thin fabric of your underthings. You could feel yourself soakin' through, the slickness makin' each slide smoother, more insistent.
Your breaths came quicker, cheeks burnin' as you rode his thigh, the tree's bark rough against your back. Arthur watched, eyes dark with need, one calloused hand slidin' up to cup your breast through your bodice, thumb circlin' your nipple till it peaked hard. "Look at you, innocent lil thing turnin' into a wild filly. Yer pussy's clenchin', ain't it? C'mon fuck yourself on me till you cum."
The dirty words fueled the fire, and you moved faster, hips buckin' as waves of heat built low in your belly. Your hands clutched his shirt, knuckles white, while he held you steady, his own arousal strainin' against his fly but ignored for now this was about corruptin' you, breakin' through that purity. "y-yes⌠oh gosh, it feels⌠so good," you moaned, voice breakin' as the pressure coiled tighter.
"That's right, darlin'. Let it go. Cum for me, soak my thigh with that sweet juice." His accent wrapped around the command, rough and commandin', and it pushed you over. Your body shuddered, pussy throbbin' as ecstasy crashed through you all hot, wet, and shatterin'. You cried out, grindin' down one last time, collapsin' against his chest as aftershocks rippled.
Arthur held you close, strokin' your hair with a satisfied grin. "See? Ain't nothin' wrong with feelin' good. And this is just the start, doll." The innocence in your eyes had cracked, replaced by a glint of newfound need, and he knew he'd only begun to corrupt that sweet soul of yours.
