a  sigh.  pearl  backs  up, eyes  down  then  hands  to  the  side.  deflecting  a  statement  like  that  would  be  what  she  would  think  is  the  equivalent  a  goal,  barely.  pearl  desperately  inside  thinks  she’s  just  naive  and  forgetful — as  if  she doesn’t  know  the  hard  truth / she desperately wants to forget.
