Operation Shake the Charlatan Update #1 Current position: top 2% Goal: top 25% or lower Change? Decreased company standing by 0.1% This is harder than I thought! Turns out there is a large discrepancy between the top performers and the rest of the company, meaning little changes in work performance have only a subtle impact on over all standing. I’ll have to up my game!

Operation Shake the Charlatan Current position: top 1.9% Goal: top 25% or lower
Soooo... I have a little bit of a different goal today. I have been performing within the top 2% of the company I work at for 4 years now. I have been constantly denied training that could lead to a management position, and have been lied to about “why”. I have been mislead into believing that good work ethic and performance (such as performing within the top 1-2% every month in a company that has almost 5,000 employees) would lead to some form of benefit - it has not. I have recently had my hours replaced by a new employee. This is the third time in 4 years this has happened. My store has performed in the top 25% of stores across the country since I arrived, and it is solely because of me. My manager takes credit for it, and she is praised for being a consistent high achiever. I will be taking that top 25% spot away from her. So, my goal? To tank my KPI’s. To change that top 2% placement to a top 50% placement as quickly and as ethically (to the customer) as possible, so that my manager can no longer bask in her stores ‘good performance’. There will be no more good performance from me to bask in. If she wishes to earn praise, it must be as a result of her own hard-work. No more piggy-backing. Wish me luck!

A fairly productive day today! Getting up in time, studying at uni for a few hours, handing in an assignment, making handwritten notes and doing a long stretch in the evening to wind down.
I finally took the time to watch the Prince Harry + Meghan Markle interview with Oprah and honestly, I was at a loss for words. I didn't have the time to finish it entirely so I know what I'll be doing tomorrow evening! 💌

WELL! I think it's safe to say that for me, clinical masters has so far been a lot. They say it's intense, they say it's not easy to keep up, but boy was I wildly unprepared for the absolute BARRAGE of competing demands I'm at that point in the semester where the first lot of assignments are soon to be due, while also trying to navigate my way around the initial stages of a new thesis (+supervisor) and the anxiety that comes along with ensuring your proposed research is something your supervisor will approve of Don't get me wrong though, I am most definitely enjoying uni so far, and I look forward to hopefully being back on campus by Semester 2 later this year - it has so far been extremely brill learning so much clinically relevant content! In general psychology the word narcissist refers to someone who presents as confident, self-important, and grandiose. But a much more insidious character lurks in the shadow of the classic narcissist; the covert narcissist. These types are not characterised by diagnostic criteria in psychological assessment tools such as the DSM-5 or the ICD-10, but they are discussed within emerging psychological literature, and are regarded as a dangerous personality type.
