Now what's interesting to me is that Jacinthe doesn't shy away from challenging herself on the battlefield, nor react especially negatively to losses that prove she and her team aren't perfect. She seeks out rematches with the player, who regularly defeats her, because she seemingly sincerely enjoys battling with them, and enjoys battling in general, possibility of failure and all. But conversely, she does avoid challenging herself or showing vulnerability when it comes to things that are expected of her as an elite socialite — her lack of rhythm and associated avoidance of ballroom dancing, prominently. She's so insecure about it that she goes out of her way not to even try it, and she only admits to her insecurities in a dream! It makes me wonder if she has a lot more complex feelings about her social status and how she presents herself that we don't get to see, because she never lets herself express them on the surface.
