Summary:
You are the child of a prestigious house that has served and worshipped the symbols for generations. You are the eldest, and are now of age to bear the candle of being the next head priest/priestess for the symbols. Your duties is to give daily prayers and present offerings, swearing absolute devotion to feed their hunger. Because we all know what happens when humans don’t worship the symbols anymore.
Your father is the head of the family, the current priest until you take his role. He accompanies you to meet Septem and properly introduce you as the next generation. The meeting goes wonderfully, your father has always been well liked by Septem and the symbol seems intrigued by you. You’re polite, obedient, and know your place as a human amongst symbols. You’ll do just fine… as long as you obey. But Septem has a keen eye, he can tell you have a different personality under that respectful mask you wear in front of him.
So he stalks investigates, his insatiable desire for knowledge of those around him has no limits. For weeks he watches you, knowing your routine and habits intimately. Your mysterious personal guard Nulla has been on edge since your meeting with the head symbol, yet he refuses to tell you why.
Then one day, without warning, you are summoned alone before Septem, Unum, and Quinque. Your father stresses that you keep your composure, as this could be your first divine duty for the symbols. But what awaited you there in that meeting was nothing like you ever could’ve expected… you are to marry one of the male symbols of your choosing. Septem has seen great potential in you! It is an honor to be the bride of such revered gods of your world.
You don’t know what to feel. Dread, fear, nausea... The gods have never taken a human bride before, there is no protocol or scenario to even prepare you for this.
