              Egon watches closely, almost unblinkingly — analyzing. The demon clearly retains some physical control over Damon’s body, though he doubts that was necessarily the design of the possession process.  ( Why would a Class VII entity choose not to gain full autonomy of its victim? )  The psychological aspect is clearly more complicated. Inter-cognitive communication — yet something else Egon assumes was a flaw in the entity’s execution. Damon retaining full or nearly-full consciousness might just be another hurdle for … Gilgamesh. But this is all less black-and-white than most things he and the others take care of. It isn’t exactly as simple as blasting a proton stream to disrupt the PKE levels  ( actually, that would kill the host )  . No, this is going to take a little more finesse.

              “ How are you sleeping? ”  It’s not exactly an answer to Damon’s question — it’s not an answer at all, in fact, and it seems to come out of nowhere — but Egon has to wonder … After all, a scientific hypothesis can only be disproven, not proven. One brow raises, quizzically.  “ Since your possession, have you developed any sleep disorders? Insomnia, symptoms of sleep paralysis, sleep apnea? ”  

                    damon  instinctively  leans  back  slightly  ,  almost  intimidated  by  the  scientist’s  curiosity  despite  the  good  intentions.  digits  curl  into  themselves  to  rub  his  eye  ,  as  if  subconsciously  driven  to  do  so  at  the  mention  of  his sleeping  habits  (  truthfully  ,  he  could  barely  sleep  at  all  ).  damon  abandons  his  own  question  to  satisfy  egon  instead. ❛  uh  ...  fine  ?  i  don’t  get  many  hours  of  sleep  ,  if  i’m  honest.  ❜

 if you’re this important . . . is not a right way to speak to a mori . or for the lack of better words , to someone who was just looking for an excuse to lash out on someone . her mother’s birthdays often brought out the worst in her , she’ll still pretend she loves yui mori as much as her love is rejected and stomped on and ignored . it’s akina’s determination to be a good daughter and knowing there won’t be an heir but her . takes her a few minutes to convince herself the poor bodyguard did nothing to deserve her ire , therefore it hides behind an indifferent eye roll and obedience . somewhere quiet , yes , they have to go somewhere quiet and safe . still , she refuses to reach down and take off her high heels , despite the softness of the ground and thickness of tree roots . ❛ your name was damon right ? ❜ small conversations , her least favorite thing . yet silence is starting to make her nervous too , it’s a good thing she has a blade hidden around her thigh , under her dress . ❛ i always wondered if that name came from ’ demon ’ . or if i would name my second son ’ adam ’ or ’ gabriel ’ if i had two sons . and that i actually kinda . . . hate kids . ❜ her voice seems airy , still , she deserves an applause for keeping up with him . ❛ you have siblings ? ❜

                    once  damon  had  established  his  base  of  operations,  almost  every  morning  became  the  same;  each  morning,  damon  wakes  up  &  gilgamesh  is  always  standing  across  the  room,  staring  at  him  as  he  waits  for  their  day  to  begin.  damon  typically  wakes  up  around  midday  at  the  earliest.  damon  hits  his  answering  machine  to  see  if  there  are  any  missed  calls  or  possible  jobs  waiting  for  him.

                    afterwards,  he  battles  with  his  shower  to  get  it  working  then  goes  about  a  usual  cleaning  routine;  quick  shower  (  most  likely  cold  or  lukewarm  ),  brushing  his  teeth  &  running  his  hand  through  his  hair  ONCE  to  comb  it  over  &  let  fate  decide  how  messy  it  is  that  day.                     then,  he  gets  dressed  practices  with  one  weapon  (  the  weapon  changing  each  day  ),  as  instructed  by  gilgamesh, for  a  little  under  an  hour.  maggie  always  leaves  breakfast  for  him  downstairs,  as  she  knows  he  would  either  forget  to  eat  or  eat  leftovers  from  the  night  before.  to  finish  off  the  routine  part  of  his  day,  damon  leaves  to  check  any  spots  he  has  set  up  in  the  city  where  he  is  observing  an  area  for  supernatural  activity  or  any  spots  set  up  to  gather  further  information  on  missions.

                    overall,  it  takes  around  1-2  hours.  after  that,  damon  has  little  clue  as  to  what  the  rest  of  the  day  will  bring.

she   remembers   when   they   first   met   ——   what   she   didn’t   expect   was   for   him   to   remember   her.   it   was   common   in   her   castle   for   people   to   be   completely   unaware   that   there   was   a   princess   of   hartthwaite.   they   met   in   a   dark   place,   somewhere   where   her   face   could   be   barely   seen   ——   and   yet,   he   remembered.   it   causes   her   chest   to   flutter,   small   smile   to   come   on   her   face.   easy   money.   smile   falters,   even   if   she   tries   to   hide   it.    “   i   think   you   might   be   the   only   person   who   thinks   that.   ”    she   drops   the   pouch   in   his   lap,   gaze   focused   on   the   ground.   perhaps   she’ll   hide   her   disappointment   at   being   some   money   source   if   she   doesn’t   look   at   him.    “   can   i   ask   you   something?   do   you   think   .   .   .   i’m   a   bad   person   if   i   don’t   want   to   go   home?   ”

                    there  was  an  added  weight  to  the  pouch  landing  on  his  lap  ,  as  though  guilt  was  filled  deep  inside.  part  of  him  knew  he  should  hand  it  back  to  her  ,  even  if  she  doesn’t  need  it  (  or  accept  it  ).  yet  ,  he  kept  it  within  his  grip  before  lifting  his  gaze  to  watch  her  subtle  movements.
