Porrim rubbed her eyes as she meandered throughout her current bubble. In all honesty, Kankri could get on her nerves sometimes. Yes, she loved him, but if she didn’t she wouldn’t have a second thought about punching him in the face sometimes. His tirades never seemed to end- the only moments of solace being when he was truly startled or if she was away from him. It didn’t take long for her thoughts to take over and let her body go into autopilot, the surroundings simply becoming background.
Not soon after, she let out a squeak as she felt a pair of arms wrap around her and hoist her up, one quickly moving underneath her legs to carry her bridal-style. She smacked the chest of this intruder, finally to her senses as she looked up to see the one and only- older Kankri. She still scowled, though she did seem to relax a bit more in his arms.
“I tho+ught I to+ld yo+u to+ give me warning the next time yo+u decided to+ po+p up and grab me. No+t that I particularly mind yo+u grabbing me, but it wo+uld be nice to+ kno+w when it happens.”
With her last sentence, she quirked a smile.
>>He had watched her make her way into the area where he had been staying in a relatively quiet isolation to himself. He hadn’t interacted with anyone in quite some time and that had made him a little starved for interaction. A social need in him having not been quelled once he matured. He had snuck over to what looked like his mother, though he knew such to not be true, and stood from the tall grass, lifting her up in one solid motion. He laughed as she hit his chest, his smile surrounded by bristles as he beamed at the younger version of his mother.
“I do not recall hearing any such thing I assure you. Although regardless if I had anyways, I can’t say that it would’ve stopped me. Your smile betrays how you truly feel and it is clear to me that maybe you do so protest too much. Tell me what am I to call you? For names are ever changing in these infinite “bubbles” as they are called by you grubs.“ He said, the words flowing out in a constant stream.
Her face dropped a little as he kept speaking, unsure how to feel about his talking. Yes, it was very much so like Kankri in the amount of words- but he wasn’t particularly “triggered.” However, the second he called her a grub, she hit him in the chest again, scowling and attempting to squirm out of his arms.
“I am no+t a grub! I am Po+rrim, Po+rrim Maryam; and I’d like a bit mo+re respect than yo+u are giving me. And do+n’t tell me ho+w I feel, I kno+w ho+w I feel. And who+ are yo+u? Yo+u seem awfully decisive o+ver who+ deserves the po+wer here.”
She gave up her squirming about halfway through, crossing her arms over her chest and ensuring she still kept eye contact, her cheeks slightly flushed out of the embarrassment of being referred to as a grub.
>>She it him in the chest at being called a grub and all it came to do was to make him laugh a hearty laugh from the attack, finding it cute and admirable at best. He smiled a her and said "Well I do so apologize! No offense was meant I just see you as a good bit younger than me and so I figured a name to pick such would be fitting. Although hearing your name does make calling you such a bit awkward yes? I will never truly get used to the concept of doubles or alternates as you wrigglers have. It just seems normal to you all. " He said, a smile never leaving his bearded face as he gently let her down to the ground.
