catching eyes with him from the dance floor wasn't something you wanted to happen, it just did. you shouldn't even be there, your boyfriend was at home, sick. he couldn't make it to the club with your shared friends. friends, who were all dancing together.
looking back over, he's gone from the spot he was at before. glancing around the club, you don't spot him.
feeling a tap on your shoulder alerts you to someone behind you, spinning around you see him again. ashton irwin.
the notorious playboy. the one who you couldn't keep your eyes off of.
here he was, standing right in front of you. you couldn't breathe, was this real life?
he was saying something to you, his mouth was moving but you couldn't hear it. βwhat?!β you shout over the music, bringing a hand up to your ear to indicate you can't hear him.
he nods and grabs your arm, you let him drag you away from your friends, who barely notice you going. he leads you over to a quiet corner, βi said, βdo i know youβ? you seem very familiar.β you hear him this time, but you shake your head in response, βnot that i know of. but i know you, ashton irwin.β
he doesn't look shocked, his face is stoic. not even a quirk of his lips, βthe way you kept staring, i couldve guessed as much.β you look away from his face at that remark, your nails suddenly very interesting.
he licks his lips, reaching out he grabs your chin and tilts it up, βdont look away.β your eyes meet his again, reluctantly. his hazel eyes are half lidded, hungry, searching yours for something.
you blink, scared to look away or he'll disappear. maybe you want that, you have a boyfriend, oh you have a boyfriend. you forgot about that.
hes speaking again, your brain doesn't pick it up, looking to his lips you see a mischievous grin.
his hand is still on your arm, you realize. you don't want it to go, it feels like electricity running through you.
looking back up to his face, when did you look down? you dont know. hes looking at you, βwhats your name?β you tell him your name, feeling like you just gave your soul to the devil.
his smile is devilishly handsome, watching you fall apart.
he drags you to an empty booth by the bar, its cozy and quiet. he pulls you into his side, his arm around your shoulder.
should you be here right now? should you be here with him? you tell yourself, yes you should. where else are you supposed to be?
your brain feels mushy, like stepping through a muddy swamp.
looking back to ashton you see him already looking at you, you don't break eye contact. hes nothing like your boyfriend, you think to yourself.
he leans closer, his scent radiating around you, the smell of musk and cedar. you want to breathe him in forever, can you? maybe. you lean closer to him too. just to get a better sniff, but is that weird? it seems weird.
you avert your eyes from his, his arm around your shoulder feeling like 50 pounds. his other hand comes up and rests on your cheek, his hand cool in the hot air of the club.
he tilts your face toward him, he leans closer. you hold your breath, you see his eyes glance down to your lips, he doesn't move. you don't move either.
his breath hits you in the face on every exhale, but you don't mind, βwho'd you come here with?β
should you lie? should you tell the truth? βmy friends.β your voice is hoarse from not speaking, his lips quirk up again.
you don't tell him you have a boyfriend, how could you? you can barely speak.
his face is still inches from yours, the eye contact heavy. you glance down to his lips, the smirk on his face never leaving. in fact he smirks harder, he noticed.
looking further down, you notice a gold chain resting around his neck. hot, sexy, so attractive. all words you can think of to describe him right now.
he's speaking again, you look up, he just asked if you have a lover. you look away, do you lie? the look away was enough admission for him.
his smirk grows, he likes that. the thought that you are taken, yet here you are. with him.
you can see him leaning in even closer to you, he's so close to you. you can hear him breathing, βif you have a lover, why are you here with me?β
why are you? your boyfriend is nothing like ashton. your boyfriend is quiet, shy, nervous.
you look to your hands, they are shaking. are you nervous? or excited? both?
βyou are nothing like him.β you finally respond.
his reaction is immediate, he gives a dark laugh, βoh baby, you have no idea what that does to me.β
he stands up suddenly, pulling you to your feet. you want to ask where you are going, but do you care?
you let him pull you out of the club and to his car.
you leave without your friends.
