My oldest sister’s name is Claudia. She was born perfectly beautiful, just like many other babies, but due to a strong case of meningitis, was left with a profound mental disability, which turned my parents' lives up side down, and brought many, many challenges along the way. But along with challenges, she also gifted us a lesson we will keep forever: To love one another unconditionally. My sister Claudia passed away last night, peacefully in her house, with her loving parents along her side. She doesn't know, but I believe she is the reason our family is as strong, resilient, and close as we are. Throughout her life, she silently weaved a cord of love that will forever link us together.
