hello! just wanted to give a little heads up that there’s a new vampire farming sim, moonlight peaks, that recently released. it has a really diverse cast of dateable characters, but, as a warning to any potential players of color, and especially Black players, they offer two styles of character portraits (one more realistic a d one more anime style) and the second anime style removes the ethnic features of the non-white dateables. the worst, by far, is elvira, the Black vampire bartender who has her wide nose changed to the typical anime point, fuller lips almost completely removed, and textured hair straightened. the devs have also come out and said they allow genAI modding in their discord (including portrait mods that either whitewash the characters or turn them into stereotypes) even encouraging and supporting some AI vibe-coders. their social media manager has also posted genAI character pictures, only removing one because it was nsfw when the ai and nsfw was pointed out. the fandom is also pretty racist, many claiming there are no attractive male dateables except for Death, the faceless grim reaper, and Ridge, the white lumberjack looking werewolf, and begging for another white character, Ridge’s brother, to be made romanceable because none of the others, noteably majority men of color, are attractive enough.

We need to lay more blame for "Kids don't know how computers work" at the feet of the people responsible: Google.

I watched that try guys video on voodoo and I quite literally almost broke down in tears. how a religion derived from our ancestors has been heavily demonized to hell and back by the media, and because of western imperialism.it made me want to connect to my own spirituality. I'm a black person with heavy ancestry from the Yoruba people too. it made me reflect how colonialism quite literally forcefully stomped out a lot of traditions from both the African and indigenous people here. yet, we still preserve heavy aspects of our culture that was almost erased.
