Not defending themselves against bullies

Be afraid of coming out, and stay closeted out of fear of being disowned.

As a kid, I was heavily embarrassed of being Haitian. I hope my children and my family yougins never have to feel ashamed of their culture

I’m still afraid of loud noises. I flinch every time I hear one. I don’t want my kids to be traumatized like I am from yelling and slamming objects.

Not saying how I feel trying to spare everybody else feelings

Feel like they don't have anyone to trust when they need some personal stuff to talk about and the family won't find out.
