Here we have a classic example of "dining logistics gone wrong." I have several questions for the health inspector. First, why is the server laying directly on the table? That is a blatant violation of code, regardless of how nice her stockings are. Second, judging by the amount of smoke coming out of that serving dish, she is either serving a dry ice sculpture or she has burned the pot roast beyond recognition. And finally, there is a lonely slice of pie in the foreground that is absolutely tragically ignored. It’s sitting there thinking, "I'm the dessert! Look at me!" but alas, everyone is too focused on the structural integrity of that waitress uniform. It’s kitschy, it’s campy, and it’s a vivid reminder that in 1978, "service with a smile" meant something entirely different.
