Despite humble beginnings in Croatia, Penthouse’s Miss June 1972 Nevenka Dundek managed to carve out a modest career as a glamour model in Europe’s biggest fashion cities. Moving with her family to Munich at the age of 14 gave the petite blonde a jump start in the mannequin business, and after only two years after her arrival in the German city she was an in-demand name. From then on, Miss Dundek bounced around from her adopted town to Rome and London looking for ways to improve her budding star. By the late 1960s, Nevenka started to appear in walk-on extra roles for various British productions, and obtained work as a page 3 glamour model, “it’s my ambition to be an international actress” she explained to Penthouse. Unfortunately, aside from one sizeable role in an obscure German film, the petite blonde had difficulty breaking into the business.
American International Pictures ripped itself off with their follow-up to the first of the late sixties biker film genre, the profitable Wild Angels (1966). Devil’s Angels (1967) used the same costumes and even the same soundtrack music as Wild Angels (1966) and John Cassavetes reluctantly took the gig in order to raise money for the film he was making - Faces (1968).
