Duke’s whole life had been mapped out for him and he was just fine with that! He was sure that he’d marry his high school sweetie, Paige, anyway. Getting accidentally pregnant just moved things along like, way faster than either of them had expected. But okay! Let’s do it!

Paige and Duke were married before she was showing too much and it was the happiest day of his life. Well, second happiest. Once his son, Landon, was born… woah! He’d never felt joy like that before. Or anxiety, as you can imagine.

He’s loving it, though. Being a dad, a husband, building a life… He’s still finishing college, on track to becoming a dental surgeon and continuing to take care of his family. He’ll definitely be showing off the baby pictures at the ball tonight!

So What Happened?

Let's take it a step back to the Montgomery/Vanderbilt 'Disaster DinnerTM' which was a lot. The drama was intense and at the end of the night, three Montgomery women had exited and never returned. At least, not that Duke saw because he- even though Andy told him not to- accepted a scotch from Mr Montgomery (he just kept refilling his glass). Needless to say, Duke ended up vomiting on the expensive rug and passing out on the sofa. Andy had never loved him more.

In all seriousness, that dinner really did cement what would become Duke and Andy's romantic relationship. They were both busy hanging out with each other when prom night happened. And when that freak rainstorm hit? Would you believe they had their first real kiss in it?

After dancing around it for so long, after becoming real friends, it just made sense to Duke to dive all in with her. On the day of the Founders Festival, he invited Andy to 'family day' with him and his children, Landon and Ashley. They were having fun, eating cotton candy, winning stuffed animals and judging the 'Miss Havensdale' pageant. Then it all went horribly wrong.

Duke was just another shocked, terrified, human in Havensdale Valley that day trying to keep his family safe and alive. Thankfully, everyone got out of there okay, but what the hell?! Of course, it wasn't over... Soon after, the Montgomerys lost their home to the Bad GuysTM and Andy moved in with Duke (and his kids). It was so not a normal situation, but they kept it together (mostly!!).

Later, Ava Montgomery would find out that Andy was her biological mom. Duke held Andy as she cried and confessed how everything had happened to him. They faced it together, no matter how messy. No matter how much "Gorgeous" George Weston being the father gave Duke the forever ick (remember George is who his ex-wife Paige Vanderbilt cheated on him with!). Duke has been a real part of the extended Montgomery family, as much as Andy has tried to be with Landon and Ashley.

Meanwhile, once things had somewhat calmed down, Duke continued to run his dental practice. He's been trying to acclimatise to the current, ah, supernatural-ness of this place. He's running 2-for-1 deals for vampires (for your regular teeth and your fangs!) and workshopping dental sticks for werewolves; Are there witchy potions he could use to help whiten teeth? He has to know! Duke has his marketing brain on in these trying times!

A member of a parent support group in Havensdale for dealing with living in #Domesdale. He's well and truly a Havensdaler now, looking out for his neighbours and friends (including new bestie Ellie Prescott).

Bear in mind, Duke is human and this place is constantly on fire (metaphorically). He is doing his best to keep it together, but is 200% screaming on the inside!!!
