the number on the scale doesn’t reflect true weight

since i’ve gotten back into the habits of healthier eating and exercising, my body’s done more work to tone, slim out, and burn fat while also regaining muscle mass.

REMEMBER!!!: muscle mass is more dense than the weight of fat. so even if you’re shedding the fat, if you’re body’s active, it’s going to grow more muscle, which will in turn affect the number on the scale of your weight because of fat and muscle distribution.

don’t beat yourself up if the number doesn’t go down. i had to keep reminding myself in the beginning of my weight loss journey because of how many months i plateaued.

July and August i lost 20-25 pounds from 210 to 190-185.

September to December i wasn’t very active because college whooped my butt with my busy schedule. but i plateaued and kept my weight consistent by still eating fairly healthy.

before when i lost weight i shed it so rapidly (were talking like 40lbs in 2-3 months) which is so unhealthy because it doesn’t allow your body to fully adjust to the weight loss. consistency is key for long term weight loss to keep it off too. i used to fluctuate so much because of how fast i lost weight and gained it all back and more.

January to now (end of March) i’ve reached 180, another 10 pounds shedded, and since the was the last time i weighed myself half a month ago, i’d hope i would be in the 170s as i look even slimmer.

i forgot to mention last week i checked the scale and reached about 180.
