independent, selective, and private kamisato ayaka of genshin impact! this blog will likely be largely canon compliant in terms of things like ayaka’s in game backstory, with my personal flavor of headcanons thrown in as i see fit. that aside, there will be flexibility on things like verses and interactions. i’m here to have fun and expand my writing.

i play on the na server and i......am ar 57 (send help). i do stay caught up with the story and will do my best to tag spoilers for at least two weeks post story content being released. mutuals are free to request my uid!

this blog is low activity. sometimes writing just doesn’t happen, but i will do my best to get replies out in a timely manner!

Starter call!! I still need to catch up on other replies and asks once I pull myself away from Tales of Arise, but I’ve gained new mutuals since returning from vacation too, so!!

     though weary of outsiders, once trust is gained from keqing, she is always more than happy to show others the beauty of liyue. for ayaka, it took almost no time for keqing to grow comfortable around her. someone with her level of experience at such a young age made her all the more relatable to keqing. it was difficult for keqing to get along with others who didn’t understand what it was like to hold a position that required dedication and a strong work ethic.

     she hums, giving a nod before responding.   “  there’s never a dull moment in my work day. since i deal with mainly the real estate and land, it often feels like i do the most work out of everyone in the qixing. not that i mind, however.  ”   keqing paused, taking a moment to give the question some thought. truthfully it never crossed her mind as to why she took on her job.   “  my family is aristocratic, i guess you could say. i could have easily followed the path that every woman in my family takes and stayed home to raise children. however, i don’t like doing what’s expected of me. being in the qixing isn’t something that my family or any gods have set out for me. i’ve chosen it for myself.  ”

She listens intently as Keqing speaks. Their lives are as similar as they are different. It truly is interesting to speak with someone her age. Moreover, to hear from someone that had the choice. Yet Ayaka cannot deny the slight ache within her heart. At times, it feels as though the choices for her life are out of reach.

gentle footsteps make their way through the large corridor , softer compared to the melodic hums under a certain retainer’s breath as he strolled through the building ; brisk but steady , he had taken this path many , many times in his life , enough to feel the grooves of wood beneath his feet and the way that certain areas seemed to stir with the northern wind. perhaps he could walk around the kamisato residence completely blindfolded if he so chose ! that would make for an interesting game one day. 

these thoughts are briefly put aside once he reaches his destination , giving a considerate knock on the door to alert the other of his presence.

he smiles , a gentle pull at his lips as he sets the tray gingerly onto a table near ayaka , blond locks briefly falling over his shoulder. gloved hands begin to work , laying out the saucer and cups , before long digits lift the teapot. a gentle caress of aromatic scents elevate , the floral accents drawing attention to the senses ; a truly elegant drink for someone with such grace and nature as miss ayaka. voice warm as honey rise once more as the tea is served to the shirasagi himegimi.

A quill scratches quietly against parchment as the young lady of the house sets herself to work. Though she spends many days involved with the citizens of Inazuma, there is always behind the scenes matters to attend to. The small matters especially fall to her. She doesn’t mind it, truly. There are just moments where her thoughts wonder. Wonder to a life outside of attending to her duties as a member of the Kamisato Clan, of how young women her age might spend their days. Daydreams occupy her thoughts until she registers the knock at her door.

“Come in!” she calls out, more out of habit than anything. Given their closeness, Ayaka has waved away the need for formalities. At least, when they’re not around the other Commissions.

Ah. She must have truly drifted off into her daydreams this time, realizing she’d unintentionally drew a sizeable line across the parchment. She sets it aside, grabbing another to replace for later. “Thank you, Thoma,” she hums as she watches him pour the tea. She waits a moment before carefully picking up the cup. She blows gently at the tea to cool it, before taking a sip. Lowering the cup, a gentle smile graces her features.

“Those are rather bold words, Lady Yae,” Ayaka muses in contemplation. Words she doubts many would be willing to say her or any member of any commission. To have no defense is a great risk. Perhaps greater than a half truth or an outright lie. Though honesty is always best, isn’t it? Honesty. Such a rare and precious thing these days.

It is known within the Inazuma Bakufu that the Yashiro Commission stands closest to the Raiden Shogun and as such, its members also stand closer to the people in a more direct and human approach despite the fact that the last events befallen in Inazuma might tell otherwise. Since the Sakoku Decree was enacted, Ba’al was not ignorant to the shift in conduct of the other two commissions, even more so when they had unconditionally supported her decision of promulgating the Vision Hunt Decree —positive as it may be in her eyes for people to abide as per her wishes, she did not let that blind her to the premise that something must be happening behind her back—.

Reason why she sent a formal letter to the Kamisato Clan whose endeavors seemed to remain the same, yet not without potential reservations they may have on the matter. This audience is bound to investigate that which is concealed from her at risk that the government may be suffering a corruption to be taken care of if the case presents itself as she suspects to exist. For even though she is the head of the military —on the margins of the government which holds a different power—, Ba’al must secure that everything is in order despite the chaos that entailed the enactment of the latest decrees have caused.

The Narukami Ogosho remains seated where she is with the cup of tea betwixt both hands when the younger heiress of the Kamisato Clan enters the throne room before an Okuzumeshuu personnel closes the door behind her. Midnight purple lashes fluttering close, Ba’al places the cup on the table without hardly a rush before directing amethyst irises once more towards the young woman. ❝There is no necessity to concern thyself about such trifles.❞ And thus she gestures with her open palm towards the seat right before her at the other end of the table where she sits, a cup of tea laying in wait. ❝Please, have a sit.❞

Quiescence ensues her words as Ba’al offers the maiden a brief moment of respite to allow her to recollect her thoughts and relax. ❝My apologies for requesting thy presence above Kamisato Ayato’s considering that this is not thy department of duty. Alas, there have been some pressing matters that require urgency.❞ A pause. ❝I will be forthright on the matter and I expect thy genuine honesty: what are Kamisato Clan’s thoughts on the current events that are transpiring in Inazuma?❞ Although such direct question may be branded as a potential ambush, it is naught but— for this is a mere prelude to the true reason why she summoned Kamisato Ayaka in Tenshukaku in the first place. 

Before addressing such topic, however, ensuring the damsel’s candidness if mandatory as well as a means to ensure that the Yashiro Commission has remained transparent.

As she approaches, she bows her head respectively before sitting across from the Almighty Shogun. Requests directly from the throne aren’t new to the young lady of the Kamisato Clan. She’s been the go between on a small amount of occasions. The firework Yoimiya once crafted with the Shogun’s emblem and the city at once comes to mind. However, Ayaka doesn’t recall any conversation such as this. Such things typically fall to Ayato, while she handles the smaller and more often public matters.

“You needn’t apologize,” she hums in a tone that is ever pleasant, “It is my honor and duty to represent the Yashiro Commission and the Kamisato Clan as much as it is my brother’s.” At least for as long as Ayato remains unmarried. And she would not abandon him to shoulder his responsibilities alone, especially with Inazumas as it is now. Nevertheless, she is unprepared for the next words. Perhaps they should have seen this coming. They should have prepared for this more thoroughly, and yet... Why now? Why not sooner? Why wasn’t this asked before Inazuma was plunged into war?

Questions that swirl in her mind go no further. They do not show on her face. Conflict does, however, show in the way she can’t help grasping the tea cup a little tighter than intended. She pauses before answering. Publicly, the Yashiro Commission has taken no official stance. They provide relief to all Inazumans regardless of which side of the war they’re on. Privately, they’ve assisted in ways to avoid and escape the decrees. They’ve aided those whose lives have been changed forevermore.
