“Oh hey- yeah, trying to do that whole- holiday shopping thing. Yay.”

The last word was paired with half-assed jazz hand cheer. In truth, Columbus just tried to get as much done before the malls and shops were all jam-packed with people, people with colds, sharing their germs.

“What about you?”

You know when zombies took over, he never thought that of all the people he’d run into again was his fucking gym teacher.

“Yeah...thanks for that. But I am not thanking you for that song that is almost permanently stuck in my head.”

He nodded, that was pretty much the norm now. Truthfully he longed for those days of just being able to blend into the woodwork; where he could hide out in his apartment, playing W.o.W. But now he made up for all that lack of attention. It’s just too bad it was from ravenous freaks.

  “Think this place is bad? You should see    Pacific Playland….” He paused.   “Hopefully you have a safe place to stay.”
