     He couldn’t help but smile. Growing up Sky had always just tried to join a group of people but for once he had actually been invited. “Yeah okay, that’d be awesome! Hey thanks, I try anyway.”

     If this had happened sooner, Jace would’ve signed up right away. But with the new information he’s received about Emma’s case, he was questioning everything he’s done for the commission. He was pulled from his thoughts as Herb continued. “I bet. You deserve it though.” Jace had always liked Herb, not that they ever talked a whole lot. But he knew with Herb in charge things would better.

     Skyler looked at his brother waiting for him to answer. But seeing how Jace was, as usual, silent and brooding Sky spoke up. “We need you to find someone for us.” Sky knew this case was hard for his younger brother and he honestly didn’t blame him. But at the same time Miss M had been Sky’s friend too and he was just as confused why she betrayed them.

     The entire time, Jace remained silent as they made their way to Miss M’s his new office. Letting Sky do what he does best. Rambling on about anything and everything.

Being back with the commission felt strange but necessary. It seemed like the best place to get information about the apocalypse and it was better to have them even temporarily on his side. Rather than them trying to hunt him down at every chance. He was just trying to save his family, just trying to save the world.   That’s where she came in.  Emma, (or Miss M as this place called her,) seemed to know more than she let on. Plus she knew his father somehow.   She’d helped him before.

But much to his dismay, that Calhoun guy was in her office. His eyes flickered to the door, her name was removed.   “Where’s Miss M?”

      Jace was sitting at his new desk, attempting to do some paperwork. He knew he wasn’t going to get this done as his mind kept wandering back to Emma and his current mission. He was having a hard time trying to make sense of any of it. Hard to believe that she just betrayed them like that. He sighed to himself and was about to get back to it when he heard a voice.

      So it was true, Five was back. Of course, Jace didn’t trust him at this point. But he wasn’t one of the head honchos. He just had to go along with it. “She left us. Is there something you need help with?”

When he spoke up, she set down her gun on the small table. It wasn’t her intention to kill him- that would defeat part of the whole purpose of her actions. But by the looks and sounds of it- he never got the note she tried to send him. There was a coldness in his tone; what the fuck had they told him?

 Her eyes never left him as he got up; he wasn’t supposed to be here. Everything she’d done was supposed to keep him away; alive. Yet and here he was. Maybe the only way to keep him safe- was for her to die here…

  “I thought I told you never to come to 2019.”

      “Yeah, well guess you're partly to blame for that.” He responded. Sure maybe he shouldn’t be so harsh towards her but Jace was just torn. She turned him into a fool. As he watched her, he realized that he still was head over heels in love with her. No. He had a job to do. The job was more important than feelings. “So what should we do about this?”
