In horseshoe Drive, behind a big stone wall there is a place called BZKLETA. Bikes, bikes and more bikes. Found, restored, collected, manufactured, rejuvenated. Lee is the man behind this enclave and runs it with passion and humour. His staff are all from his hometown... he brings in staff and trains them in all they need to know. There is food cooking, records playing and a constant stream of customers chatting, picking and hanging about. I went to have a look one day and ended up making camp for the whole day.... This video shows you BZKLETA and gives a glimpse of the artwork that came from it.

I collect signage and especially love hand painted signage. I stumbled upon a great set on a gate.... tracked down the owner and the artist (who was the chef) and commissioned some more. JON JON AND HIS CRAZY DOGS

This video gives a brief and not necessarily correct, history of The Philippines. But it also showcases the collections that I have put together to try and make the many pages tangible.

Security guards, slum areas, roadside stalls selling everything from cigarettes to passport photos. I wanted the STOP and GO paddles that the security guards were using to let cars enter the car parks.  I was directed to a PADDLE maker... different paddles.

This video is a little long but it is all about the traditional MALONG, and there is a lot of telling to do.

I have created 2 'SEXY SILK MALONGS' for this show with the help of a lot of people.

In this series of videos I have tried to tell the story of how each piece of artwork, in the show, came to be.

Some things have been commissioned, some drawn, some photographed, some co-created and some simply stumbled upon; but each has a reason and a personality that needs to be seen to be understood and hopefully enjoyed.

Harsh reality. I went to the Divi

soria today… big market area. It is full of lots of cheap clothes and electronics, haberdashery, kitchen shops and destitute living conditions. I bought about 10 people lunch. Old men and small kids mostly. I actually went into a small grocery store for one family. Lady and 4 kids, and basically bought them groceries for a few days… It is so bloody sad.

Fabo is an artist and advertising man from Manila. This video shows a performance art collaboration with his lovely son, Miles. You, the spectator, sit as a silhouette as the pair create an impromptu illustration around and through you. It's a joy to be part of... and then the surprise, they hand over the artwork for you to keep. Here is a link to another collaboration - 5 Channels: Fabo and Marcushiro.

The Saturday Future Markets are the brainchild of 98B.. an arts collaboration in Manila. If you click on their name that is linked to the area on their website that gives you the whole story, directions, how to become involved etc etc.

The Collective is an artist run space on Maluguy Street in Makati. 4 art galleries, food, street artists, dj’s, music store, screenprint your own shirt etc etc. Great place.
