“Budget Cuts mean less research being applied to the community”
Many students rely on student jobs as a way to support themselves while they’re going to school.
Budget cuts mean student jobs and student livelihoods.

Budget Cuts Mean Us- Our opportunities, our jobs, our University.
Reducing MAP grants and other financial aid is still being considered by the University as a way to weather the cuts.
Spreading the word
Research funding from the University will come under serious pressure if these cuts go through.

Even this Illini Service Dog wanted to contribute
Budget cuts affect everyone at the University. So glad to see students across the quad speaking out last Friday.
We were out on the quad on Friday asking people to share their thoughts on budget cuts. This employee of the University shared his thoughts about how they are also being impacted.
“Budget Cuts Mean that as an academic professional I must triage my time and resources. This means that students, faculty and staff may not the the quality of support they deserve”
As a First Generation, African American Student at the University of Illinois, I have enjoyed everything the university has had to offer me. I believe these budget cuts will put a limit on the unique experiences I've gained so far. Many interesting classes in every academic department are being cut and I believe that is putting a cap on the cultural experiences every student on this campus should be receiving. Ultimately, these cuts will hinder future students from creating their own unique experiences that I have had the chance to create myself.
“My sister is 25 but I still pay for her cell phone bills. I’m the younger brother but I’m the older brother. I like doing it.

A Senior in Political Science
"My sophomore and junior year, if I didn’t have a job, thats everything. Thats how I paid my phone bill, how I called home. It was my only source of income.
At the beginning of this semester I had 3 jobs and was working 60 hours a week. Now I have 2… I needed at least 30 hours a week for bare necessities: food, housing, cell phone bills, my sister’s cell phone bills
After working 10 hours it’s difficult to get into the mindset to sit down and write a 10 page paper. I would be so tired I’d just want to watch TV or go to bed, but then I’d have to get up at 6am to finish my paper. The paper wouldn’t be as good as I could do because of how tired I was that early."
Put an end to Budget Cuts!
