You’re The Only Thing That’s Keeping Me Alive

You twisted the black tube and saw the red tint of the lipstick appear as you leaned forward into the mirror, dragging the color along your lips. You were nervous. You couldn’t tell if your stomach felt butterflies because of your recent pregnancy news or because in just an hour you were going to be breathing the same air as him. Looking into his eyes once again. The same eyes to the heart you broke. You finished applying your lipstick and heard a knock come from the door of the room you stayed in. You looked through the mirror and smiled softly. 

“You ready?” Minho asked as he shoved his hands into his dress pants’ pocket as he leaned up against the frame. His hair parted down the middle, swept to the side. You had to admit that your family came with the genes to ruin a person from the look alone, and Minho spared no mercy in that. You nodded to him and pushed yourself off the chair of your vanity as you turned to walk towards him. 

“Are you sure about this, Minho?” you asked feeling your nervous stomach overpower you, “This could be really dangerous.”

“Okay, I know that you of all people aren’t getting cold feet..” Minho snickered and walked towards you, “Y/N I have seen you place bullets in between people’s eyes. No hesitation. You risk everything for what you want.”

Minho was right. You had learned how to hold no sympathy for someone who wounded up on the other end of your gun. You had a kill list well off into the hundreds, no hesitation. You truly have risked everything to get what you want. You wanted ‘Y’ so bad that you almost lost Jeongin and you lost Hyunjin. 

“Don’t back out on me now, Y/N. I’m here by your side.”

“Why now?” you asked softly letting the words just fall from your lips without a passing thought, “Growing up you….” 

You paused. Minho looked at you eagerly to finish your sentence, “You hated the Hwang family… for what they did.”

“Mmm.” Minho grunted agreeing and you looked up back at him,

“So why are you helping me and Hyunjin,”

“Mother always told me that love trumps hate.” Minho looked down as you let him remember the painful memories of losing his mother and father too so young. You weren’t able to  know your parents. The Minho knew his and you knew that reminding him of something like this made him tense.

“And you’re my family. My love for you is over all the hate in the world.” 

You weren’t used to Minho sharing his feelings, The years that went by attacking each other and making snarky comments never healed broken woulds you two had. Jeongin had always tried to tell you that Minho cared, you just didn’t believe it. 

“I don’t want to fight you. I don’t want your title, Y/N.” 

You searched Minho’s eyes for the lie, for anything. But he was being sincere, honest. He didn’t want this either.

“Minho… this baby..”

“Could be a unification of both families.”
