“You didn’t even tell me you were going! You just vanished! Have you any idea how worried I was about you?!” He had just glared at her, looking both hurt and angry just before he had turned to walk away from her.

“Kaine...” Anastasia stepped up behind her brother, wrapping her arms around him and nuzzling her face into his back. “I’m sorry. I never meant to worry you. Honestly, I wasn’t thinking. I just...Billy, the one they call Wiccan...he found me and told e everything and I just left without thinking. I’m so sorry.”

“Our father cares for us! You chose to run!” He had snapped back, his own eyes beginning to glow green as he had clenched his hands into fists. “If you had asked him, our father would have helped you find her!”

“Our father told me that she had abandoned me. He lied to me, Kaine, for reasons still unknown to me.” That much was true, though Anastasia did have suspicions as to why he’d deceived her. But she kept these to herself, knowing how her half-brother looked up to the man. “I just needed to know her,” she uttered, all sense of fight leaving her.

   “If I have exerted some degree of control over your life, it was for the same reason any parent would: because you could not yet control yourself. …You are much like your mother, in that regard.”

“You told me my mother abandoned me!” Anastasia cried, eyes glowing dangerously. She stepped towards her father, letting her fury show true in her expression. “When I found she was surprised to see me alive. Apparently, she was under the impression that I have been dead this whole time. Care to explain to me how exactly she came to believe that?” Venom leeched into every word, a green sort of energy beginning to flow around her hands. “You condemned me to a life within the castle you call home, only ever allowing me to leave when escorted by no less than 4 armed guards, and never outside of Latveria. You made me a prisoner.”

Anastasia sighed. “The team...I do not think they trust me. I fear they believe I will turn out to be just like my father.”

“You bolted and abandoned everything here and turned your back to our father, what did you expect?”

“Is that what he told you?” Anastasia spun around, eyes glowing green with a mixture of anger and sorrow. “I left to find my mother. A mother who for some reason thought me dead.”
