If you are a socially anxious person, you have to socialize. Your panic/anxiety attacks will only get worse and trigger more frequently if you constantly avoid contact with The Public. Not saying that you need to be a social butterfly- but there is a genuine problem with not being able to order your own meal at a restaurant. And it cannot be solved by always having someone else do it for you.

Im 35 years old, and as sad as it *maybe* sounds, I still look to people older than me for some guidance and validation when it comes to what the right things to do is. Not as in, I need to be told what it is so much as reassurance that I'm doing the right thing. It hurts when no one except 3 members of my family that I never get to see are the only ones actively supporting me in some very small ways.

My aunt, who's in her 70s and a school teacher, her son in his late 40's (who looks like your average country boy but is a queer ally), and her daughter, a fitness influencer in the UK married to a service member.

I just want to ask my aunt in particular 'why? why are we the only ones??'

I grew up in the church with childhood OCD and absolute terror of committing a thought crime. I constantly prayed and apologized to god for my intrusive thoughts or anything that ran through my mind that felt like it could send me to hell. Never fucking again.
