Consider if Hosea survived the Saint Denis bank job, imagine he is still shot badly and the gang assumes him dead. (Abigail never manages to find his body.)

The rest of the story continues the same, but a few weeks after the gang falls apart Hosea finds his way back to Dutch, Javier, Bill and Micah. Of course he's heartbroken when he hears what happened (probably a watered down version pf events.) That so many of his family are gone, even if he's secretly proud the Marstons got away to live the life they wanted.

He's so pained when he learns his son Arthur was one of the casualties. He's not surprised, Arthur would have defended his family to the death, he knows, Arthur wouldn't have let so many people die if he hadn't been going down with them.

Hosea gently asks where Arthur's grave is so he can pay his respects and that's when Dutch goes real quiet, his confident mask slipping.

"You do know where it is, right?"

Dutch blusters, his hands making grand sweeping gestures. Javier and Bill watch silently, a strange guity look to them. "Well it happened so fast! The Pinkertons! They were gonna get us all!"

"You left him behind?" Hosea asks, his expression confused. "Are ya sure he's dead? Maybe he got out?" There's a horrible hope creeping into his voice.

Dutch shakes his head, ready to cut off that thought. "No, when I walked away he was dying, there weren't any saving him in that state." His mouth closes, his eyes wide as he glances back at his best friend to see the fury flash in his eyes, Micah snickers somewhere behind him.

The world wasn't ready for Megamind in 2010. I think it could be ready now. After seeing the same superhero arc in every Marvel movie, the squandered subversion in expectations from Game of Thrones, the tired consistent revamps of previously done ideas from Disney,, I petition that we just rerelease Megamind in theaters again. No changes at all. Just toss it back in there and let people experience culture and class for the first time in their lives
