oh! don’t worry! i can answer that query of yours for you!
for this, you must imagine an alternate universe where more atomically correct, clean-looking and diverse Davidians rule the world; known as "humans", and all objects (such as yourself or your scientific partner, Tennison Bennison) are simply inanimate and are only used by humans as tools and items and such.
Homestuck is a webcomic revolving around multiple of these humans, known by human names such as John, Jade, Rose and Jade, as well as an alien species responsible for making the human planet (known as trolls), as they navigate a video game which has dire consequences for the world they inhabit.
This video game, known as Sburb, destroys the planet of its players, and tasks them with creating the Genesis Frog (AKA: a new Universe for them to inhabit). Two sessions of Sburb (one for the four humans mentioned earlier, and another (known as a "Sgrub" session) for the trolls) manage to intertwine, having all of these quirky characters aiming to create a new universe, with a lot of death and drama along the way.
The text is long, more than 800000 words, and includes a lot of video game segments and unique flash animation pages, all clashing together for a multi-media experience.
I imagine someone like you would enjoy all of the alchemy and alluring technology featured in the comic, as tinkering is encouraged in Sburb. Characters are encouraged to create new items using a punch-card based alchemy, and the vast amounts of complicated machinery featured in the game.
You may also like the inventory systems used in the comic (I know I do), as all characters have unique and complex "fetch modi" inside of their Sylladexes (inventory systems, which have them "Captchalogue" artifacts (items) into cards to retrieve later) which allow for further tinkering and research.
